I bought this from Walmart as well, but I disagree with the other negative comment about this product.
I agree that separating and deciphering the colors is quite time consuming, especially doing so by their unhelpful names. But I was able to separate the colors correctly and match them with the original picture shown in less than two hours. To ensure that you have the correct color for the right number and name, try looking at them during day time and outdoor, especially in the morning. A warm indoor light can sometimes blend the different shades of the same color, making it difficult to tell a light beige from a rose beige for example.
I've completed roughly 85% to 90% of the picture so far, with three colors left. I started 11 or 12 weeks ago and I am very excited to finish it.I bought this kit at Wal-Mart and was really excited to take it home and get started. I love cats. Imagine my horror when I opened the package and found that all the floss was in a big HANK like yarn and non of the colors were designated. From 30 different shades of floss you're expected to know what "Light Rose-Beige" is and what "Taupe", "Light Taupe", "Dark Taupe" and "Light Beige" are. I've spent three days working on this piece, not to mention the two hours of trying to seperate the floss and decide what these colors are. I just gave up on some of them and went to Michael's to purchase some DMC floss in colors that matched, as close as possible to the color names. As I said, I've spent three days working on this with a mixture of the DMC floss and the floss provided. The pink color that's supposed to go in the ears ended up in the face for the "Light Rose Beige" color. It looks horrible! Like a cat with sunburn! Also, look at the picture magnified, does the face of the cat look like it has anything resembling a "Rose Beige" in it? Nope! I hate to say that I've wasted three days worth on this pattern, but I'm getting to the point of being fed up with trying to decipher this pattern and seeing colors in it that I know should be elsewhere... If you're going to do this pattern, just throw the provided floss away and use your own. I may come back to this pattern later, but as of right now I'm probably going to just chalk it up to Wal-Mart crap, learn from it and move on to another pattern. I can't go straight back into working with this pattern. If I do I might just kill someone.... LOL jk...
