Great pattern and instructions like most Bucilla products. My only complaint is there is no where to hang the individual items made for marking the days. If you want to display them your have to make something additional.

I haven't started making it yet, but I was disappointed when I opened the package and discovered that there wasn't a different ornament for each pocket. I couldn't tell from the picture on the website that instead of 24 different ornaments there were only 12, with 2 of each. I think it would be much cuter with a different ornament design for each pocket. However, having made several Bucilla stocking kits, I'm sure it will be really nice when completed.

I felt the assembly instructions were not very good. Creating pockets for the little toys did not seem to allow for "bottoms" so worry that other treats I'd like to include would just fall to the bottom.

This advent calendar turned out to be so cute. I put cord on each little "ornament" so that they could be hung on the tree after they were taken out of the pockets. I made this as a gift for a very dear friend and told her that she could either put them on her tree or have a small tree just for these ornaments or put them in a basket that she could sit next to the calendar. The only complaint that I have is that the calendar did not want to hang flat against the wall so I put a small rod (about 12 inches long) across the top of the calendar on the back of the calendar and covered it with left over material from the backing of the calendar. That seemed to solve that problem. It was a fun craft item to make and I hope that my friend's children will enjoy it for years to come.

I'm almost finished making this (only have to make most of the ornaments for the advent). I wanted to let others know that there was not enough materials in my kitmainly white thread, dark green sequins, and most importantly, the clear seed beads. I ran out of those on the second advent ornament, which was awful until I found a supply of beads/sequins I had saved from previous Bucilla projects. If I didn't have a backup supply on hand, I'm not sure what I would have done. Contact Bucilla? It's close to Dec. 1 and I live overseas. I was pretty upset about the lack of correct materials. If one doesn't have extra sequins/beads on hand, this is going to be very frustrating. I only took one star off because this is a really beautiful calendar and I really enjoy doing these.
