I'm a grown man, but I like to color to relax. I like the selection of colors, but this chalk is too soft. You can apply it and smooth it out with your finger, but you have many colors and ten fingers. You might want to use an air compressor to blow off the extra chalk, because it's too soft.

Is this a little too complicated for coloring? YEP! I like the colors for my "iron man" and "Disney Pixar cars" coloring books, but I'm having a difficult time controlling the extra dust. These would be better for me, if they were a little harder and created less dust!

Feel free to laugh now, because I'm a grown man who relaxes at night with a coloring book!

I was a little leery at first about this chalk and was

hoping it would get to me without any broken pieces.

No problem, each piece sets in it own little pocket

and the square shape helps keep it intact. The colors

are great and I really like the chalk as well as the packaging.

Service and delivery were good too.

I recently got into pastels and I must say I've truly found my niche. These are the first set of chalk pastels that I've worked with since school a few years ago and I really like them. They all came unbroken in the box. There is good selection of colors. There are two blacks and two whites which I'm a huge fan of. I really like how there are multiple shades of gray and that there is a good pale/beige color to use for self-portraits. Having very pale skin, the skin color is usually way to dark and harsh and strictly white just does not work. So using the pale beige tone with some white and pink blends beautfully. Great starter kit for me.

The only thing I will say about these is that some of the colors are softer than others. I prefer them soft and it's not a huge deal but it slightly alters how easily I'm able to blend it.

LOVE these colors-am totally new to using thesei use them for coloring/painting fondant/gumpaste flowers. HINTi use an EYEBROW SHAVER to gently shave the chalks to make a powder to use on the flowersWorks wonderfully!

These pastels are beautiful and they blend easily. The colors are rich and vibrant. I've used Sargent's pastels before and never had any complaints. It would be nice if the pastel had a paper on it like some of the competing brands. They come packaged in a nice protective tray too. I bought the 24ct pack for a friend and I bought this 48ct for myself.
