A good activity for preschoolers. Tracing within the shapes rather than around them seemed to give more control over the pencil, crayon, etc. Even for children, say K-3,it seems to help develop figures in motion and lead to independent creativity, concepts of shaping; they can even paint over the whole picture; when done tracing, they can add individuality with details.
I have discovered with my grandchildren (now ages 5 & 7) that just when I'm afraid I may be crimping their creativity with
product-induced controls, they surprise and delight me by taking their imaginations to new and constructive levels.
