To begin with, I do love these pastel chalk pencils. The sticks are made of cedar and have a good "feel" to them. The color is acid free, and goes on quite nicely (a slightly rough paper is necessary...slick finish will not do). I have found these colors to be very easy to blend and, for me, very easy to keep sharpened to my particular requirements, i.e. I have not been plagued with constantly broken points...no crumble. Note: These pencils are not toys and if you have any little hands around that like to bash pencils and throw pencils, then yes, you will have breakage while trying to sharpen them.
The colors are very easy to work with and very, very cost effective. I find they have the same quality as pastel chalk pencils costing twice as much.
Ah, and a note about the cost here. I am not sure why they want as much as they do for this particular product, especially when you factor in the shipping cost. I am able to buy these same pencils at our local art supply stores for quite a bit less, so unless you are quite isolated or cannot get out and shop, you might want to check locally before you buy these. In doing this you also stand more of a chance of not having the pencils bashed around and the leads broken in their wood casings.
The only reason I am giving these four stars rather than five is due to the cost here. Now don't get me wrong...even at what they are charging here, you are still getting a very nice pencil for your money; its just that I personally can do better locally.

The OzarksI am totally pleased with these pencils! The quality is great and they're satisfying to use. Now, I'll be shopping for a larger color assortment!
