I work at a child care center and I purchased these for classroom use in a 4 year old's classroom. They work great--kids love them because it gives them the letters and a picture...great buy!

I purchased this item so that my 4 year old could trace the letters on paper.When it arrived I realized it could not serve that purpose:
The set is way bigger than I expected.
The height of the rectangle containing the letters is 6.5".
The capital letters are about 6" tall (I measured the S).
The lowercase letters are about 4.5" tall (I measured the s).
I also think that the plastic is very thin for my purpose, but it will be ok as a painting stencil.
To be use as a stencil, each letter has to be carefully removed. In some instances, some shapes were easily removed by hand because only some points supported it.
However, in other cases, the shape was not completely cut through so I had to use a blade in order to maintain the integrity of both shapes (in and out).
