I've used framelits from Sizzix (through SU!) so I had some familiarity with using these. The trick is to stamp, then cut out the images using the appropriate framelit. The other trick is to use a Post-It note or painter's tape to secure the metal framelit to the image in the way you want it to be cut. This keeps the stamped image aligned within the framelit.

I totally loved it -I made a number of Christmas cards with this and people really liked it. You can use Staz-On ink and then use Copic or another ink (I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers) to color the images and I added red stickles to the dots for a little more dimension. (I also used dimensional tape to make one deer stick out more.)

It does take some practice and you will definitely stamp and cut more deer than you need because it's not a perfect system. But stamping it first, using the Post-It note or painter's tape to keep the stamped image within the metal framelit does make a big difference.

Really cute reindeers. I really liked the idea, but it was a little hard to use when I did it. I think I just need more practice, but it was a mess the first few times I tried.
