This turns even the cheapest items, i.e. ceramics, glass, into gorgeous items. Beware though. It's highly toxic. I have to use a respirator and gloves when working with this stuff. It's definitely worth the inconvenience. Also, have plenty of ventilation and keep the kids and animals out of the room you're working in. I'm not one to have phobias about chemicals or odors, but this one contains many cancer-causing chemicals and the first time I used it without a respirator, I couldn't take more than five minutes inhaling it.
If you take the individual chemicals in it and look them up on the internet, chances are you'll never use it.
I'm going to try to post some of the items that I've made with both the Silver Guilding and Gold Guilding.
Don't let the chemicals scare you away. Just take precautions.

This stuff consists of tiny copper particles suspended in an organic solvent. Paint it on a material, let the solvent evaporate, and the result is a metal coating. It shines like metal because it is metal.
While all varieties use copper particles, they come in different tones--my guess is that is controlled by particle size.
It goes on to plastic easily, and doesn't really need more than one coat. It dries to the touch within a few hours, although it takes a day or so to completely dry.
One note: the stuff is quite flammable, even when completely dry. It's not explosive at that point, but will burn much more readily than, say, wood.
You should also realize that 0.75 ounces doesn't go very far. A few paperweight sized objects will exhaust the bottle.

I love this stuff. I bought it to paint some recycled jars and it worked great. I had to use two coats to completely cover. I also did a clear topcoat. Holds up to washing by hand.
