Purchased this regulator to run between my shop air compressor and a hobby airbrush. The regulator adjusts easily by pulling up on the knob and rotating to the desired air pressure then pushed back down to lock in. The advantage is the compressor can be dialed up to hold 100 lbs or so and the regulator dialed down for your airbrush. This way the compressor doesn't kick on as frequently and you get a consistent pressure for airbrushing. I can't comment much on the water trap function because I don't generally run long enough to notice the true benefit.

I have a small air compressor that came in a nail gun kit. The compressor is very light and has a 1.5 gallon tank but it has a fixed pressure of 80-100 psi which is fine for a nail gun but worthless for air brushing.
I bought this regulator unit and added a quick connect nipple on the input side of the regulator and a male-male 1/4 pipe adapter on the output side of the regulator.
I just plug this into the portable air compressor and I now have a fine air supply for airbrushing. I typically set the air pressure at 15 psi.
The regulator is very solid and appears to be of high quality. At $14 this was a true bargain.
It does not come with instructions but none are needed. There are arrows molded into the unit that point in the direction of the air output. So hook up the compressor to one side, screw the air gauge into the middle hole, and put the output fitting on the other side.
The regulator knob must be lifted to adjust air pressure then press down to lock your setting. If you want to attach the regulator to a bench there is a bracket that is attached by unscrewing the large red nut, slipping the regulator into the hole in the bracket, then replacing the red nut. The unit has a water/ oil separator which can be emptied buy pressing up on the nipple below the clear separator. If you have a lot of water in your air supply a small piece of plastic tubing can be fit on the separator nipple and directed to a drain or container.

This regulator is a great item for the price. It keeps the air line free of water as-well-as having an easy way to adjust the psi. Although I have a large shop compressor, I use a HF hobby compressor for the use in learning airbrushing. I did not like having to leave the air valve open just to maintain a 15 psi air flow. I highly recommend applying teflon thread tape on all threaded parts being assembled to ensure a solid seal. The center of the regulator is a hard plastic and the threaded inserts can only screw in so far before they become stripped. The tape will ensure a solid seal.

So far, so good. Havn't used it a lot just yet, but so far its working great with my 11Gal air tank. Marking could be a little easier to see and understand, but you figure out before too long. Works good to keep the preasure for my airbrush where it needs to be!

This is a great little moisture trap/ regulator. It is five dollars cheaper than a moisture trap by Itself at the local hardware store.
