I bought it for my Neighbor's 13 yr. daughter, who is very artistic. She called to say it is wonderful and she is practicing the different brush strokes.

This is a lovely little beginning set of Asian/Oriental brushes and materials, but the brushes are very small and I think longer brushes (you could always buy a single longer brush to add to this set) would work better for a beginner to learn the strokes.
