I love working with water brushes and wanted to build up my collection, so I would have one water brush for ever color of ink I'm using, plus some for just water to use with water colors. Since the price was great on these, they seemed a good way to do that, but you really do get what you pay for. They seem very simply/cheaply made and therefore just don't work like water brushes should.
Simply put they work horribly. First of all, the brush bristles don't have a point. They look like they do when they come straight out of the package, but they have been formed that way. Once you actually get the sticky stuff that kept the point in place (feels like dried hair spray) washed off, there is no more point and you'll never get it back. The bristles are very jaggedy.
The whole idea of a water brush is the self-wetting properties, but these really don't do very well with normal writing/drawing pressure like other water brushes. If you press a little harder (and I mean just a little,) either nothing much happens or you get big globs of ink (or water) dripping down. Sometimes the water/ink even comes out on top, where the tip is threaded to the tank handle!
There seems to be very little in between. Either it dries out or you flood it. And it can be quite random. This problem is mostly due to the fact that it's really just a plastic cap with a hole in it that has some bristles glued to it. Other water brushes have a whole mechanism, that ensures flow, prevents dripping etc Not these!
All in all a pretty useless set of brushes and a waste of money!
Do yourself a favor and get either a Pentel Arts Aquash Fine Point Water Brush, Medium or a Yasutomo Niji Waterbrush, Small They are a little bit more expensive, but they really do an excellent job!

These brushes don't keep a point. The water flow is either blobby or nonexistent. The caps fall off and then your pocket gets wet. Avoid these, they're a complete waste of money. I use Niji waterbrushes now.Best Deals for Royal Brush Aqua-flo Set 3
I'd give these no stars if I could. I bought them at a local craft store. I got them even cheaper with a 50% off coupon. They. Were. Not. Worth. It. They don't pick up much pigment, the brush isn't responsive and the caps don't stay on. Awful. I threw them OUT! Spend a little more and buy either the Pentel or Niji. both of which work fine. Water brushes are not as good as real ones, but they are good to use if you're trying to carry the minimum kit for "on location" (en plein air) painting.Honest reviews on Royal Brush Aqua-flo Set 3

I thought I might like a little bit more flexibility in sizing; so I bought these. The points are good, and they look just like the picture, but I won't buy them again because they leak from the area where the point screws into the reservoir-handle. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) :) that's not a good thing when water-coloring. ;( I wish I had just bought another one of the Pentel brushes. It's pretty awesome, and I was expecting similar performance from these. I was mistaken.
