, this is a good brush; the reason why i went a little more pricey than my usual is that i was having problems with bristles coming out; so far with this brush it has not been a problemAt the listed retail price of $30, I don't think I would have found this brush to be all that great...but you can't beat the $5.50 that I paid for it on Amazon Prime. At this price, it's worth buying a few to keep on hand. I use it for applying traditional gesso to wooden panels and smoothing oil ground on canvas and hardboards. I've bought packages at places like Michael's and A.C. Moore that look like this brush and contain 3-4 different size brushes of this same type for just a few dollars. The quality of this brush is MUCH nicer though. The cheap multi-packs tend to have rather meager, uneven bristles and the metal ferrule that holds the hairs on the handle is not tight...so I'm constantly having to extract brush bristles that have fallen out into the gesso or ground and then smooth it all out again. No problems with this brush though.
