I've been carving pumpkins for the last 20 or so years and this set is by far the most complete and highest quality set out there. The patterns aren't just your standard halloween characters, some feel very Art Deco and will look fabulous as the centerpiece for our Holiday dinners and parties.

Both of the small carving saws broke during their first use. I broke one and figured it was a fluke, then several minutes my friend broke theirs. These are not the quality I was expecting.

Looking at the photos I thought this was going to be a higher quality item. Given the price and photos I was assuming it had wood handles, it arrived and was a plastic set (metal blades) not too different from the cheapies you see everywhere. Looks perfectly functional just a bit dissappointed it wasn't of higher quality.

I was trying to find a quality product that would last my family through years of pumpkin carving. This set looked like it fit the bill. We enjoyed carving pumpkins with the tools. Unfortunately, two of the thin/small saws broke off at the handle.

On the good side, there are multiple saws in the set, so we have back-ups. The other tools work well and there are many more tools than can be found in a standard "grocery store set". There are multiples of many tools so a family can all carve at the same time. I was also pleased to find that it was a family owned company making a product in the USA. The set comes with multiple patterns to use and a sturdy box that will last for years.

UPDATE: I contacted the company (Grampa Bardeens) about my broken saws and received an email back right away. He explained that the smaller saws were detail saws and may break if used improperly or on a very tough pumpkin. They will be replacing my two broken saws ASAP. I was super pleased with the customer service of this small family-owned company. I'm very happy and would recommend this product.

This was my second carving party to attend. I knew that I would need all the help I could get for the first time, these tools made it easy. They fit in your hand like they were custom fitted and the size, length and strength of each tool was amazing as they cut the pumpkin like "budda". I had been using those small, hard to use, cheaply made,carving tools. Pumpkins were "ho hum"...boring. Not any more! These babies made it easy and my hand was not worn out. Now I can get serious with pumpkin carving designs. Folks at the party who borrowed a tool will no doubt be getting a set too. Love me some Grampa Bardeen!
