What do you get when you combine Tonka Trucks with Play Doh? You get the Play Doh Diggin Rigs Tonka Chuck and Friends Playsets. That is more than a mouthful, but it does describe this combination of the construction feel of Tonka Trucks with imaginative play of Play Doh.

Chomper the Excavator is a nice addition to the Diggin Rigs family although it lacks enough tools to be a headlining act. At best you can make three things from Play Doh and one, the bricks is pretty difficult to remove from the mold. The best feature of Chomper the Excavator is the spring loaded claw. The claw works surprisingly well and can easily grab a variety of Play Doh parts.

As mentioned the claw is spring loaded and can easily grip and grab a variety of Play Doh attachments. The biggest disadvantage of the claw is that it is not very maneuverable and it has a tendency to want to tip over.

You can only make three Play Doh parts from Chomper. The back shovel can be used to make a square block, the cab is used as a Play Doh press for making traffic barrels, and the back of the excavator makes bricks (although they are very difficult to remove from the mold).

Very easy to clean, especially for a Play Doh toy!

Final Verdict Chomper the Excavator makes a nice addition to a Play Doh Diggin Rigs family. You may not want to start your Diggin Rigs set with Chomper, but it certainly is a fun addition for anyone who may already own Buster the Power Crane or the Brick Mill Playset.

I'm so glad play doh made a line of toys for boys. My truck-loving boys love making rocks and bricks and roads with this line of Chuck and Friends play doh toys.

Eh...doesn't do very much. This entire line of construction Play-Doh gear is just meh. Exciting to receive, but after an hour or so, not so fun anymore.

This toy line is brilliant. My 3 year old and 5 year old boy both love the play-doh with the digging toys. The play-doh colors are even differentblack with just a little sparkle, to look like asphalt. An orange color to look like mud or bricks. And silver to look like steel. This was a reward for my 3 year old, and he loves it! There is no greater treat for him than digging something, so having a digging machine plus the play-doh to dig in is a perfect fit.
