This product does exactly what it says it will do, and it does it easily and reliably. The final finish has the natural and random pattern of naturally occurring rust. I used this on a plastic project. The plastic did require a primer, but the iron coat held without any issues and applied easily. The website suggests 2 coats, but 1 did just fine for me. Applying the antiquing coating at different times (ranging from 30 min to 24 hours) after applying the iron coat increased the variable appearance of the final finish and added to the final natural appearance.

Looking forward to trying this on future projects and other surfaces.

I purchased a copper coating set for a wooden box I wanted to decorate. I also purchased their primer, as directed, and primed the box in advance. The copper coating turned the box maybe a slightly darker color, if you squint. I've put on several coats now, and it's made no difference. I may as well be painting this box with water.

EDIT: I've now gotten the product to work. The bottle said to shake well. I shook it quite a bit, and after getting so little paint coverage, I went back and shook it super hard, for a very long time. What came out looked much more like the paint I expected. I still had to apply much, MUCH more than I expected to get any kind of color coverage. But, the final result delivers well enough. It doesn't really look like copper when applied -it very much looks like copper paint, though it's a nice shade of copper paint.

So, final review, shake this thing like your life depends on it, and slather on huge gobs of it, and you'll get a pretty decent product.

I used this to rust my plastic model and the result were perfect. Real rust. Easy to use. I do recommend practicing first and thin coats are better than thick coats. Overall product is perfect. One kit is enough to do several models.

On one hand, it did age the object, giving it a centuries-old iron look that I liked.

But there just wasn't a lot of rust. Nowhere near the photo. Probably around .05% of

the finish had a bit of orange rust on it.
