I teach art and use these to teach with, THEN I go home and do professional portraits with them which I sell all over the world. I have experimented with many brands. These are hard enough to hold together, soft enough to give great coverage, saturated enough to give a beautiful rich color. THey don't crumble, nor do they glaze over. They are consistent and I recommend them 100%.

Considering what I paid, this is a great buy. The box is nice and has enough weight to it and if I ever chose to store other supplies in it, it would be possible. The pastels themselves are housed in black plastic slots (which is the biggest downfall), however its nice because you can remove them. The color selection is fabulous, and only one of the sticks was broken when I opened it. I'm happy with my purchase! Great deal for the price!

This is a excellent set of Pastel Sticks. They are easy to work with and a great collection of colors. With this set you can create alot of Pastel Paintings.

When we opened the box at Christmas, it was disappointing to find every pastel fractured in multiple places. I mean, not just a few broken pastels, but literally every piece shattered beyond imagination. I think that more care needs to be emphasized in the overall packaging and shipping of these fragile items. Lastly, they are VERY overpriced compared to what you can get at Michael's. Some things just aren't worth buying on Amazon IMO, and this is one of them.

Like some of the other reviewer, many of mine arrived cracked. I honestly don't care about that as I will use them more for ceramics and will be using brushes with them. However I noticed most of them that were cracked were snapped right in the middle of the stick. Even if I was using these for drawing, they are broken such that they still have large enough chunks to hold onto and draw with.

Definitely worth it for the price that it is selling at.
