I am so pleased with these overall. I did have two of the pans that were powdered on the top when they arrived...the Titanium White, and Yellow Ocher. The rest were intact. It would have been nice had they all been in pristine condition, but in the grand scheme of things I don't believe this will make much difference.The pans are actually quite a bit larger than I had anticipated, which helps compensate for the higher cost of this medium. I haven't had a chance to really break into them, but tested out several over my Gelli print scraps, and like the effect very much.
I also purchased the 20 cavity tray which is very nice, and keeps the powdered pans from contaminating the others in the tray. Headed over to review that item next. I also picked up 10 other individuals pans of shades and tints that are prominent in the portrait collection to fill out this tray.
This painting set is a great start for a first set of pan pastels. Can't wait to learn more about these as I play.
