These pens are really cool. They are more dark hued than the normal glaze pens set. The red and the dark blue are fantastic.They're raised, but not al lot. However, they're raised enough to give a cool effect. Also they,re kind of watery right out of the pack and take a little warm up time before a lot of pigment starts coming out. These are also the only Sakura pens to my knowledge that can blend without killing the pen. I was worried that they would dry too slow for my purposes (I study with gel pens) but these pens dry within one or two minutes at most. My only gripe is that they can sometimes look like plastic.

Although I love the transparent, almost "stained glass" look of these pens, the ink flows like paint, and can be a bit hard to control. Also the drying time is quite significant for these, so if you're like me, and somewhat impatient, be prepared. Over all though, if I'm careful with them, I'm very satisfied with the result.

I do a lot of art work and the making of cards. I found these pens as well as the other sakura products (blister 3-dimensional, sakura stardust meteor pens, and the sakura silver and gold shadows to be excellent products. smooth, dry quickly, and add a lot of detail.
