The reviews were mixed, but I was hopeful that my experience would be positive, so I purchased this item. Not the case. I wrote something on my hand-painted chalkboard, let it sit a day, and then tried to erase it. My writing (in white) became slightly less bright but is still completely visible. I've tried wiping it off with a dry cloth, with a wet cloth, with Windex, and with soap and water. Nothing works. Major fail.

I've been using these for our chalkboard menus at our cafe, as well as on the chalkboard grocery list on our wall at home. These were painted with the run-of-the-mill chalkboard paint from Home Depot. The markers wipe off easily with just a damp cloth, don't leave behind any markings, and are really brightly coloured. Some folks were saying that they were having to go over their writing a couple of times, but I really don't see why. These are fantastic!

I bought these to use with magnetic black chalkboard; however, they leave a very visible shadow behind no matter what you try to use to remove it. Yes, the product does say for use with chalkboards but according to the company they have been having many problems/complaints that their product cannot be removed from black chalkboards. Don't believe me? Call them yourself at 310-793-2200. Listen to the prompts and select your region to speak to them (I choose option 7 and spoke with Shannon). The company also indicates that they do not currently have any products that play nice with black chalkboards. I didn't ask if they would pay for a new chalkboard since their product damaged the one that I purchased since I plan on using a "back to black" product found in automotive stores to cover over the shadows (hopefully this will work). Then I plan on using a washable crayon from Crayola. The reviews that I have read indicate that this has worked well on all chalkboards and is non-toxic.

p.s. This product is sold in conjunction with black chalkboards in stores and even on Amazon. Guys, gals, it's not our fault... Get a refund and ask for money to replace your black chalkboard until the company puts a warning on their product that it will damage black chalkboards. This could be a good class action suit for some hungry attorney out there...

These markers are much brighter than what is pictured (fluorescent pink, yellow, green and blue instead of pastel type colors). Other than that, these are exactly as advertized. I have had no problems erasing them and they have not made a mess at all. They write like a marker does on paper and erase with a wet cloth like chalk does on a chalkboard.

Excellent crisp, bright, intense colours. Great product. The pens write evenly, with really nice clean colours. I am very pleased.
