If you have a project calling for 24inch circular needles, these are the right length. For the price, these are wonderful (considering you could spend for one or two 24inch bamboo circular needle the $12 I spent for all these). You get what you pay for and it's nice that there is an economic option out there. These are defenitly not as easy to use, but is hundreds cheaper for the set of 18so the buyer just needs to decide what is worth it to them. There are issues with the fabric sticking to the tubing... solutions I read about are using powder on them or rubbing with wax paper. I used wax paper myself to help the issue. The needles could be sharper, most have flat tips. Sharpening/shaving was needed. I wouldn't necessarily suggest these, but do feel they are an economic option if one is needed.

Unfortunately, these did not work quite so well in the smaller sizes in which the plastic connecting tubing was just that, tubing. This was because the tubing was not smaller than the needle size. This made it difficult to slide the fabric. I also found it necessary to rub the tubing with wax paper to help make the fabric slide, even on the larger size needles. Still and all it is a value if you use sizes 5 (3.75 mm) and up regularly.

I knit fairly tight, so those who knit more loosely may not experience these issues.

These are circular knitting needles with tubes connecting the two needles, rather than a solid cable. These have become my go-to needles for travel projects for a few reasons:

1. I don't have to worry about losing part of a more expensive set. (Either through mishap or due to some overzealous TSA agent deciding that my needles are a threat to global security.)

2. They fold up very small because the tube is so flexible; I actually prefer the tubes for some types of projects because of this.

3. I don't have to worry about needles coming unscrewed from the cables. (Perhaps I need a better set of interchangeable circulars, but it has happened to me when I'm on longer jaunts.)

4. The tubes can be peeled off and replaced, so if you've got a specific length project in mind and don't already have the right length, these can be hacked to suit before you head off on a trip. The tubes are pennies per meter at many hardware sores. This isn't as convenient as the reusable circulars with multi-length cables, but reasonable if you're starting out and aren't sure if you want to invest (or, see #1).

5. The joins are surprisingly smooth for the larger sizes and not awful for the smaller ones.

I'm giving them 5 stars because I think the value for the money is excellent, but I'd be remiss if I led you to believe these were perfect:

1. One of the needles in my set had a bit of a splinter in the bamboo. I fixed it easily with some wood glue, but do check the needles before putting them to use!

2. I haven't had any trouble with this particular set yet, but my previous tube-joined circulars did have some of the tubes get old enough to get cracks in the tubing near the needles. This might be a side effect of my own mistreatment, travel, or the fact that they spent a lot of time in a desert environment and dried out as a result, but it bears mentioning. As I said above, it's easy enough to replace the tubes or just cut off the ratty ends and have a slightly shorter cable.

the quality is extremely poor. 1. The plastic part od the needles are too short. 2.One of the needles has only one end. 3.No mather which needle I use, the yarn gets cought on the part the the bamboo encouter the plastic, the bamboo is all craked. Imposible to knit withth this needles. I will defenitely return them.
