These pens will ruin your chalkboard painted wall. You can not get the imprint off. You will have to repaint. And the company agrees that they won't work on chalkboard paint on walls. Too bad they don't warn you on the package of their very expensive markers.

Unless you have a very hard surface like a porcelain on steel board or a manufactured, baked surface, or a semi-gloss painted surfaceyou will always have that issue. Chalk paint is very porous and not hard so it is something that will need a regular touch up. It's the nature of the material.

I use this product in my store--I can write signs and price notes on ANYTHING from plexi-glass tubs and containers, right down to writing right on the counter or the store windows. We have a lot of young customers, and it's great because they're just dying to smear my chalk signs, and they can't! The pens are very expensive, and for how awesome they are, I would be okay with the price except for one thing: they run out of ink really fast! WAY too fast to cost what they do. Such a bummer because I'd definitely buy more if I weren't having to buy them so often.

I love the Chalk Ink Products. I use them on a five-panel door that I painted with chalkboard paint, and the ink comes off perfectly with water. I've never had a problem with the pens staining the chalkboard paint. Such a fun alternative to regular chalk! Love this product!

These markers are great, but you need to remove the chalk ink within 24 hours if looking to reuse your surface. I had a homemade chalk board and the marker stayed on after a month so I'll have to recover my chalk board. Great color variety!

Chalk ink is pricey, but with good reason. The consistency is always pretty opaque and shows well, selection of colors wonderful. It is also important to note that this brand washes off without leaving any stain or pigment like many other brands I have tried (and I think I've tried them all, I do the menu boards for local Starbucks and Great American restaurants)
