The only negative I see with this set is that when wet, the paint does have a "paint smell". This smell is gone when the paint dries. Considering how dangerous the odors associated with some paint thinners can be, and that watercolors are used with water instead (no chemical thinners needed!), I still consider this set a relatively safe bet and a relatively safe buy.
Additionally, because the colors are relatively rich and vibrant, they may stain some fabrics if you give this set to a child. Because I am an adult, this does not bother me. I would rather have rich, bright colors on my artwork.
Over all, I would recommend this set to a friend.

I came across these paints at bought them on a whim. I really like them, as they blend well, are easy to work with, and once dry are pretty permanent, hence the four stars. However, one must be aware that the Carmine Red and Vermillion fade (the other colors tested did very well. I conducted a test on some of the colors (the ones I use the most) which can be found on my blog:I recommend these paints if you want to just paint. I'm going to continue using them for my sketchbook work and works that are to be reproduced. However, if lightfastness is a real issue then you may wish to consider using them but replacing the red paints.
