I've used both of these embossing folders with my Sizzix Textures Boutique machine and they work great. They emboss deep enough on card stock that you can use a small ink pad to ink over the raised design and end up with a more three-dimensional image. I bought this duo for the roses only. It worked well, and is pretty (IMHO).Embossing: It is a deep emboss, it is wide lines, and it is very clear and visible at any angle.
Size: I used for my design, so far, only the top rose. It cut out cleanly. I did emboss the entire design on the paper, and I will use the other two roses at a later time.
Paper weight: I used 110 lb paper so far, and it worked nicely. The paper did not tear, or become too thin.
Machine: I used a Cuttlebug. I use cardboard in addition to thinner Cuttlebug pads for the sandwich, differently than they suggest. This seems to work best when embossing.
I own other Sizzix embossing folders, and they all work well.
