I was completely surprised by the size of these brushes. I really like them but didn't give them five stars because they were losing bristles with the first use. Not too big a deal though. I use these ceramic glazes and encaustic painting.

I got chinese hake brushes to use with encaustic wax.

I liked the brushes as they are very soft and spread the encaustic was very well.

These brushes can stand the heat required to do encaustic painting and do not melt like synthetic brushes.

I'm using these brushes for encaustic painting and they are working quite well...very soft. If you are looking for a smooth and consistent surface, you might like these. They also hold water well...they are sort of moppy. I've been pleased with the results when using them in my work.

Inexpensive and easy to clean. I might be using my gesso too thick because I didn't expect any brush marks with them and I got some brush marks.
