If brush is not dripping wet, strokes dry out quickly and I can use the same sheet of paper for whole practice session and there's no need to switch to a dry sheet.
I've been using only one sheet for a while now, and it's still good. Paper is just slightly rippled so I can see which squares are most used (right column), but this doesn't have any negative effect.

I agree with the other reviewer, the paper is a bit dark. Contrary to the whitish of the picture, it's more of a grey. However it has no impact on the visibility of the writing and if anything it looks really nice. Appears to be high quality but I'm no cloth expert so I'll leave it at that. If you just want calligraphy practice paper for chinese/japanese characters it is perfect.Best Deals for Gridded Magic Cloth for Practicing Chinese Calligraphy or Kanji
This item, Magic Cloth, is easy to work with; brush lines are sharp, water evaporates as it should. The material is light as a feather making it easy to carry with you anywhere together with your brush. I don't have to bring out the inks all the time now just to practice my brush work, and can also practice while watching TV during commercials. Time really goes by quickly when using it. The other day three hours had gone by and I thought only one hour had passed. It is a fun item to practice with and worth spending the money on to save on the expense of ink until serious ink work is going to be done. In addition, this company, Master Chinese, are very professional and nice people and to communicate with should you have any problems with your order. I would give them a higher rating than five stars if I could for their EXCELLENT Customer Service; I had to email them and they responded right-away and took care of the problem; it was a pleasure communicating with them. I can with confidence recommend this seller and would 100% do business with them again. When storing my Magic Cloth away for a while, I loosely place it back in the shipment box it arrive in. I also pulled the tube out of wrapping paper to roll the Magic Cloth and keep it there during daily use to maintain its flat surface; just my hints, you may have your own method.
