I bought 2 packs of these. One for myself, and another for a friend who is a tattoo artist. He had used these before and he LOVES them. He used his up quite rapidly through prolific drawing.
My daughter broke the tip on one of my markers by writing with it. This led me to be extremely careful with my remaining markers. That was my problem. I didn't sketch freely with them. The tip of the marker is a tiny cylinder. When the marker was brand new, ink would only come from the end of the cylinder. When I held the marker naturally (at an angle) it wouldn't consistently lay ink on the paper unless I pressed down. I didn't want to press down because I needed a fine line and I feared breaking the marker. The tip IS ultra-fine but still wider than I was looking for. I determined the markers wouldn't work for my purpose so I began using them for rough sketches. At this point I found that the markers would produce any type of line as fine as you can imagine!!! I think the marker had to be broken-in. With some light abuse, ink now comes from where the flat point of the tip and the side of the cylinder meet. Since it is a precise edge, it allows you to control the thickness of your line with precision. These markers took considerable getting used to, but now I am very happy with the results.
