My mother was a professional seamstress, and she used ginghers. I picked up a few Gingher scissors for myself and the wife and for use in our sewing/crafts room. Never in my life of 61 years have I got cut with any scissors, until I got the 5" dressmaker scissors. I snipped a thread and my finger tip was just a bit too far towards the scissors tip and the result was 6 stitches at the ER. These are perhaps the best scissors I have ever had or that is made, and the price is more than reasonable. Highly recomend Ginghers over any currently available scissors youfind in big box stores and most specialty shops as well as on line. This is an essential part of any tailor or dressmaker's tool kit. The 5 inch sharp/blunt is the best tool for things like grading seams, clipping to notches, setting pocket welts, opening buttonholes, and much more. I keep a pair at the machine and another at the bench.

So far as this specific brand and model, the quality is excellent. They are super sharp. A screw allows adjustment as they may need it. They are made of heavy steel. So there is no problem at all with cutting through fabric plus interlining, plus interfacing, plus lining, all doubled at a corner.

So if you are buying for a serious sewer, be confident in this one. With a rotary cutter, an embroidery scissor, and this, you can make anything.

I bought this expecting it to be like other audio cards, i.e. folded, and when you open it, it starts to play sound. Instead, this is about 3/8" thick and does not open -to play the sound, you have to press a button.

Other than that, however, it worked well. It was easy to make the recording, and the sound quality is as good as you can expect from something like this.

THIS SET came with two recordable cards. A card will allow you to record about 20 seconds of sound. We recorded several times before we were satsfied, with no loss in quality. Pulled off the tab cover when done, to disable the rerecord feature, although it could be put back on. It was bigger than we thought it would be, but it worked. We used it to record the intro to phantom of the opera, and attached it to the bottom of a handcrafted. phantom of the opera tribute trophy, The sound was great, and really carried-it was the finishing touch that the trophy needed. Would buy again without hesitation.

We used these to record the first heart beats of our soon to be son, taped his ultrasound to the front and gave them to our parents to aid in the announcement of our special delivery.

Of note: 1 of the items arrived broken (think the battery had died) and it was exchanged without issue. Sound quality is as good as I'd expect for a card like this and it definitely has done what we wanted.

My mom informed me that she was sending me some watercolor like pencils but different as a gift. I thought "okay, well I'll be using those as colored pencils then" as I'd had watercolor pencils before and was never impressed by any of them. She assured me these pencils are impressive. Bright. Could be used on fabrics. Blah blah blah. It all went in one ear and out the other really. They arrived. I drew with them. Didn't really bother trying the water aspect until I got bored one day.

WOAH. I should have listened to mom. We've all learned by now our moms are usually right, right? Yeah these colors are really intense ok INKtense after you add water. In fact they're nice and all when you draw with them but really they're much better with water, which is a first for me with pencils meant to be used with water. The colors lighten and brighten so much after adding water that I almost couldn't believe they came from these pencils. Once dry you can layer new color on top of them, ink over them, etc. The original wash will stay pretty well set if truly dry.

I've not experimented on fabrics yet beyond a quick test that I haven't yet washed, but they did work well and my mom assures me if handled properly they work well (a quick search will find you tips for setting them into the fabric though all you need is a fabric medium and an iron).

I'd probably go with a larger set but starting small never hurt anyone. Personally I plan on buying more colors.

I like these new pencils as the product claims they are permanent. They're like watercolor pencils only once make a wash with them the color doesn't smear. I found I had to wait a day before varnishing painting so they wouldn't smear, but look forward to testing these pencils again soon!

I've bought tons of art supplies over the years, including other water-soluble pencils. As I'm sure you noticed from the description, Inktense are different in that, once wet, then dried, the color is permanent. You can use them as dry pencils and the pigment/binder is soft enough to get a nice deep shade of your color. When you add water, however, the color really pops. The perfect companion for these is a waterbrush. With the Inktense pencils, a waterbrush & a small drawing pad, you've got a portable mini "studio".

I started with the 12-pencil set, in case I wasn't happy with them. I plan on buying a bigger set when these are gone (or maybe even before!) so I can have more colors. The 12-color set set I received includes the following colors:

-Poppy Red

-Deep Indigo

-Bark

-Apple Green

-Deep Earth

-Teal Green

-Sun Yellow

-Sea Blue

-Leaf Green

The 'Art Rebel' that I am, I wanted to try something more exciting than regular colored pencils . I draw a lot of faces and combine different mediums. Like watercolor and a layer of pastels and add fine details with pencil. I was very happy to see that these Derwent pencils, which are really a form of ink, blended in so well with the watercolor I was doing and after it was dry stayed in place even when the paper was wet. I also found that I can take a wet brush, rub it against the pencil tip and get instant 'wash' to apply to my painting. I just love this product. Derwent is of superior quality and well worth the money. If you buy it here on Amazon its a lot cheaper than in the art store. While the Inktense have a deeper more intense color it can be lightned by adding the color with a brush OR just buy a set of Derwent Graphite pencils . They are much lighter and good for a lighter wash.

It took like 3 weeks to get here, but it was from Hong Kong or something, so whatever haha. Regarding the spikes, theyre great. Theyre probably a little bigger than a tictac, which is fine. You get good stuff for what you pay for. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to spike out their stuff. I did however get one back screw that didnt match, which means that i couldnt use that spike. Oh well haha.

I'm a polymer clay nut. Texture is an important element in creating jewelry and artwork from polymer clay. This handy little box is packed with some basic texturizing tools. It has four basic plastic texture sheets, numbers and the alphabet as well as pretty much everything you would find on a keyboard. Additionally it contains some metal stamps to make impressions on clay. The stamps will last forever. The plastic sheets will hold up for a while with careful use. All in all a nice beginning set for anyone who prefers to have some basic implements when texturing or stamping clay. Of course, you can also look around the house and find plenty of things that will do the trick of improving the look of your clay pieces.

I want to start by saying they're not BAD paints by any means! They look great mixed with Golden Soft Gel (Gloss) but they just aren't professional grade, which is what the line is claiming to be (based on the price tag). The paints look good, but "high pigment load" is going overboard. Moderate, yes. I just don't feel these are as vibrant as other professional paints. They're a nice "in-between" student and professional grade, just not for the price they want.

I'd shopped in my local art store for these paints and the prices were really high. My husband doesn't paint a lot but his acrylics were really, really old and I wanted a new set. These are nice big tubes and should last a while. They come in a cardboard box so if you want a nice artist storage box you'll need that separately. The same paints are much more expensive locally and these are not a Chinese knockoff.

This was my first embroidery kit and I was very happy with it. The embroidery floss is included to complete the pillowcases. Actually the quality of the pillowcases is much better than any of the other stamped pillowcases made by others. I found this out subsequently. I have purchased 5 other kits all from different suppliers.

The kit gives you just enough thread to do the project but not extra. Be sure to use 2 strands...separate from the 6 strands so you won't run out of thread.

I only wish Martha Stewart had more of these kits. Great buy as the floss is included and there are 2 pillowcases. I was shocked to find one major craft supplier sold stamped ruffled pillowcases at a more expensive price with no floss and only one pillowcase.

I bought this wreath along with four stockings. I started this wreath about two weeks ago. I have been doing it off and on, and I have to say I enjoy working with this. So far it looks beautiful. As ling as you have at least a BASIC knowledge of how to sew, it is easy. I am a beginner myself and was initially intimidated by the project but I have found it to be easy to work with and relaxing. My recommendation for this project and the other bucilla products is this. Use cotton balls for the small stuffed figures. Use the fluff for the wreath. Don't over stuff it. Follow the directions but if you know what you are doing, do what is easier for you. I found that ALL the little pieces are easier assembled by sewing/decorating/Embordered all the items on first and then stuffing and sewing them together, but that just worked for me. If you have any doubts, follow the directions.. overall, this is a wonderful item and look forward to starting my stockings..

Great prices, perfect for starters. If you are going to do emulsion based printing you will need a printer that prints decent transparencies and 150 watt bulb set up. Its a great way to make custom shirts or make custom products.

I have a favorite quilt pattern that involves cutting a 61/2 inch square into triangles. This small rotating mat is handy for cutting small squares, triangles as well as for fussy cutting. I thought that the items that came in the package (small rotary cutter and 2 1/2 inch square template) made this item a very good deal.

The only reason I gave this item four stars instead of five is that Fiskars cutting mats seem to be a bit hard on rotary blades.

I bought these to do letting on my acrylic paintings and they are great. The color flows well, and it's perfect for signing your name or whatever other lettering you need to do. It dries really fast, so you don't have to worry about smudging after the first 10 minutes or so. When these run out, I will most definitely be buying them again!
