I have owned this for quite a while.

I bought an airbrush for cake decorating. And I bought an airbrush for my son for his crafting. At that time I also bought this for him 'to get him started'. Quite frankly it's pretty much still in the box. He hasn't used much of anything and it has been over a year. In the long run the idea is nice but it is far better to wait. Test your product yourself. Find out what you like to use and then just buy that rather than have this sitting around collecting dust.

I love the glitter ribbon. However, not very much comes on each roll. I guess I was expecting more for the price, but I love the product. I believe you can purchase the colors individually on normal size rolls and those come with a lot of ribbon. If you only want a few of the colors I would just buy the colors you need.

Best Deals for Janome Convertible Free Motion Quilting Foot Set for Low Shank

I recently purchased this to fit on my Janome DC2013 model sewing machine. I am relatively new to quilting, but after watching umpteen how-to YouTube videos, I felt I was ready to try my hand at free motion machine quilting. After some initial experimentation, I tackled my first big project, a twin sized quilt. It took a few minutes and several attempts, but I was soon stitching away.

I liked the choice of open/closed toe options and how easily the foot attached to my machine. As other reviewers have stated, I wish the foot had come with some instructions, but I was lucky to have my sewing machine manual handy and was able to switch out the foot without much fuss. After a couple days of practicing on my twin throw, I'm comfortable enough with the foot to start on some of my UFO full/queen sized tops that have been stacking up. Once you invest the time into getting to know your machine with this foot attached, free motion quilting becomes much less intimidating and I've started getting excited about the new designs that this investment makes possible on my home machine. I am interested in a long arm machine...one day. But until I decide to make that quite large and expensive purchase, this product offers enough flexibility and versatility to keep me interested and exploring new quilting patterns.

I'm going to try and upload a photo of the twin quilt I finished up this week using this foot. Please keep in mind that it was my first ever free motion quilting experiment, but I was still quite happy with the finished result, uneven stitches due to user error and all.

I needed a low shank quilting foot, but wanted more than just one foot. Great value for the price. Shipped quickly, but did not come by delivery date. Called the vendor, they researched it, found that the USPS still had, and offered to send a replacement. In the end the first one came and I didn't need the second one to be sent. Great service!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We've had the older version for years the one with the heavy plastic dome and battery power. Below are some of the improvements they've made with this "lower tech" version:

Biggest improvment: the dome no longer touches the paper in any way shape or form so no matter how much paint the kids use it doesn't stop spinning and you don't have to wash the dome every time you put in a new piece of paper.

Caveat: It's a much flimsier dome so it may not last quite as long as the original. But it's so much less frustrating (and less likely to give the kids an incentive to pull the dome off so they can keep going, which creates a huge mess)

Next best improvement: no batteries! This means that the entire unit can be cleaned in the sink without having to be careful of the motor/batteries. Plus it gives more control over the spin so that if the kids do take the dome off you can immediately make it stop spinning... which leads to...

Caveat: someone has to make it spin. So it requires either cooperation between the siblings or a grownup willing to do the pumping. But for younger kids it's a chance for the grownup to do something other than hover over them trying to keep them from putting too much paint on the paper.

It also came with far more paint than the original set did. Better bottles easier to squeeze.

Overall if you are going to buy a spinner, this version is hands down better than the battery operated version especially for younger kids. For older kids who don't need supervision you may want the battery operated one because then it only takes one person (them) to operate. But if it's going to be a group activity this is far and away the best option.

My 5 & 7 year olds love this, as well as Mom & Dad! Don't buy the refill pack with the 5 TEENY tiny bottles and paper that was too big and glossy black paper that the paint never stuck to (but the paper that came with this one was fine). I read reviews of all the other spinners that were battery-powered and I HATE battery-operated toys (I have 3 kids; I've learned my lesson!).

It can get a little bit noisey and your hand might tire a bit once they want to keep on adding more, and more, and more, more colors, LOL! Also, keep spinning it for a bit afterwards to spread the paint out more, and you don't have to keep it going; once every couple seconds actually catches the spinner faster.

They only complaint; the shield IS flimsy (like packing material) and I wish it could snap into the spinner instead of just laying on top. One bump, and there goes all your hard work. It is already bent after the 3rd use.

We purchased this for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas and it was the first thing she wanted to do Christmas morning. She loves art and this was right up her alley. It was easy to get started and have success right away. The splatter cover is somewhat flimsy, and I didn't realize it was going to be a manual operation process, but I think that will help to make it last longer. Great fun for the price.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Alex Fantastic Spinner is a manually operated paint-spinning machine. If you read the package and know this going in, it reduces the likelihood that you'll be disappointed.

As compared to a battery-operated spinner it is more work but there are positives about this aspect. You don't incur the cost and inconvenience of having to replace batteries. The fact that you really need one person spinning the machine while the other person adds the paint makes it a more interactive toy but doesn't take it to a frustration level that make kids abandon it permanently. Finally, as compared to the battery operated paint machines I've had the manual aspect keeps the kids entertained for a decent amount of time and then when they get tired, they leave the machine BUT THEY COME BACK. With the battery operated machine, you tend to go through all the paint the first couple of times and not really come back to it. With the manually operated paint spinner the kids seem to remember the fun they had talking and working together and ask to use it again. The cover should snap on and it is flimsy but that doesn't have a huge impact on the finished piece and you can improvise.

So, this product is recommended as long as you know what you are getting and you aren't looking for the convenience of the "on" button.

If you are new to pencil drawings, and learning to shade in areas for shadow or depth, you will need these. I previously used my finger, til I heard about these. I amuse my ego by thinking that I would like to be good at Drawing. Just starting out drawing, but to soften the Grainyness of your drawing, these finepoint and bluntpoint shading sticks are perfect for doing that. Love these, they are exactly as you would expect a blending pencil to be. They are sturdy and made of decent grade paper. I use these all the time for feathering and color blending...shadowing, and contour. A+ Actually, I need to get some more...lol...that's how much I use these. Worth every penny.

Blending sticks made of paper or other similar blending products are a must have when using artistic quality colored/graphite pencils and pastels. I love this type of blending tool the soft paper allows for a more gentle and directed blend of my colors. Other types of blenders give a varying degree of blend, perfect for specific effects. The only unfortunate thing with these tightly rolled paper blending sticks...my dogs love them! So keep them away from dogs even though the paper is inert and will not harm their digestive system. Recommendation: Get a lot of these sticks and keep them out of reach of your dogs.

Last the price was right for this product. I examined the cost of sets like this at two local art stores. Too pricey and less variety of sizes. Amazon was the perfect source for me.

The Faber Castell brush pens are probably my favorite pens in my vast collection of art supplies. I have the 24 pen set which includes each of the 4 six pen sets. (Primary, Gray, Terra & Landscape) They are waterproof India ink and are a dream to work with on most every type of paper I have tried them on. If you are like me and love to color. These are the ones for you. They are waterproof,pH-neutral proof,smudge proof,lightfast,India ink.

They have brush tip. I use them in my coloring books and it doesn't seep through the pages. But I have my niece's& nephew's color in my books but I tell them to put the date of when you colored the page. Then I keep all the books but it is nice to look back and see what you did a few years ago. The pages look as you did them yesterday than in 1999.

I only use these markers & recommend them who want to use them. The one thing I love about them is when they dry out. They all have a color number. I go onto go to page 319 in there catalog & email site Faber-Castell they have the same numbers which are on the markers and you just reorder a new one. How easy is that. They also come in Landscape Colors Set of 6,Terra Colors Set of 6,Shade Grey Colors Set of 6,Basic Colors Set of 6, Pastel Colors Set of 8, Bright Colors of 8 & Classic Colors Set of 8. I have all of the sets except,the last 2 the Greys,Landscape. I'm getting those soon.

I am a serious art person and love to try out pens. I probably have over a 1000 pens and markers! This pen is my favorite. I originally bought the 12 pen set and have added a few more colors to it but I am ready for the 48 set. You can do beautiful lettering with these pens. Color ink drawings or any other type of drawings. They have lasted a long time. I am just now needing to replace some colors. You can buy them individually at a fine art store. FCPitt calligraphy pen is also a really top quality writing instrument.

The package says waterproof but the ink runs when in contact with water. Only a base line (colorless) will remain permanently if artwork gets wet.

Two yellow? Come on. The cadmium yellow is so light it's hard to see.

These colors have been used as a complementary set and paired with basic colors from other brands. The result of using these pens has always been appealing. I'm proud of this set because they weren't expensive, and I wasn't expecting much. Glad to be proven wrong. The brush-like tips are good for applying the pen in a paint motion. Made in Germany.

I used my Faber Castell PITT Artist Pens for the first time to color a Labrynth / Fractal Design on a Bookmark I created and am very impressed with the color. The Pens also feel great in my hand and have a B Nip with a suprizing range. Excellent. The Pastel Colors and Black ones in All Nip Sizes are great as well from Faber Castle. A lot of fun.

I had been making totes using my own ideas, no patterns. Saw the templates on a Sewing with Nancy show and succumbed to how easy they made it look. It is NOT. There are very many steps and the instructions are quite complex, easy to miss a simple but necessary step. I even read through the entire instructions (which include steps to make 6 different totes) before I started and still missed things. Maybe I was tired or not at my best, and I will try again. But I was quite overwhelmed.

She has material purchase sizes on the instruction sheet, but all the other things needed are on the packaging cardboard. Needless to say, they are all her products and the cost of the tote goes WAY up. There are work-arounds and other sources and it is important to have everything together before you get to the place where they are needed. I had to wait for some items I ordered from Amazon (fortunately Prime, so only 2 days). I was able to skip ahead to some other steps while waiting.

If you are not a detail-oriented person, don't even attempt this. If you like a challenge, the tote came out really nice and my granddaughter loved it. This review would also apply to the other Clover Trace & Create Bag templates.

On the good side, I did learn some techniques that I would not have without the templates.

The directions were written in such an annoying format (and small type). Some pointers seemed to be missing. For example, how really to attach the flap. I kept looking on line for a Nancy video someplace that might have helped, but it seems to exist as a PBS show but nowhere could I access it.

Also, Nancy often is suggesting the use of her products, when she might give some alternative that could work as well.
