It is a compact, all around set. It has almost everything my little boy needed for his art class and it is easy for him to keep everything neat and manageable.

The 2 knots that hold everything together are a little tight so he needs my help to open and close it, which I don't think is a big deal and the chalks are hard to get out.

But overall, we both love it.

Faber-Castell has always been my go-to for quality art supplies. I purchased the watercolour pencils, not for creating watercolour paintings, but for use on faceups (doll makeup) for my Asian ball jointed dolls. The colour glides on so smoothly, it's like a dream, with no flakes or powder residue like I've seen with cheaper quality pencils, to stain the resin or leave streaks where you don't want them. I get exactly the colour I want, right where I want it, without worrying about mistakes. Even if I do get a bit where I don't want it, a white eraser does the trick to remove the colour from the resin. Highly recommended!

This tin of 24 watercolor pencils is great for any level of artist. With such a good selection of quality colors made in Germany (not China, etc.) you can't go wrong at this price....And the shipping rate was unbelievable.

These pencils enable the artist to sketch and experiment with colors and effects without undue worry that the piece will appear over-done. Once water is applied, the image can be softened or emphasized as desired. I use a water brush to better control the amount and distribution of the water.

i bought this for my grandson and he loves to do the projects. unfortunately it is difficult to find thin metal sheet for him to continue doing his projects. i will give him some heavy duty aluminun foil, but it isn't colored.

so you out there, who develops these kits, wake up and make the refills available. i don't see myself buying anything from this brand in the future.

Pros: Writing with a chisel tip, even without handwriting or lettering lessons, results in a more beautiful script.

This set has a good choice of colors for winter holidays and other celebratory events.

Cons: The tips appear to be chemically-treated felt. They don't feel smooth when writing and do occasionally lightly mar (scratch) the material on which they are used.

I bought this because I decorate cakes with fondant and gumpaste. It's very hard to find the right tools in my area so I have to improvise. I use this tool to create different edible objects for cakes.

It's easy to use but a little time consuming. The press is like a screw...instead of just pumping the material out, you have to twist, and twist, and twist. The discs are great; you can create so many things!!

It is hard to clean, but my standards of clean are probably a little higher since it's being used for food.

Overall, I would say it is a good investment for me.

This clay extruder should not be considered just a toy. It is a wonderful accessory for clay artists, beginners as well as seasoned. It would be great if on the packaging there was mention of other accessories available and a picture or two of completed projects. That, to my way of thinking would promote sales. The Makin Extruder is the best in this price range, my opinion. Do buy one and search out projects on the net. Kids, with some supervision, with patience and a love of working with polymer clay would be amazed what they could accomplish using their imagination and this tool.

I bought this extruder from a local store for use with fondant and gumpaste. This extruder is definitely easier to use than the push models. The twist handle, though still tiring from the repetitive motion, is much easier and takes less strength. That said, the metal is very thin on this model, and the threaded ends where you screw on the cap that holds the disc are very weak. I knew from a few other reviews that this model was delicate, so I tried to be gentle with it. I wish I'd headed the reviews. Mine literally split along the threading during the second use, and I had to return it. I bought the Walnut Hollow extruder as a replacement. The Walnut Hollow has a more comfortable crank handle and a more sturdy, thicker metal design than the Makin, with all the same discs AND a plastic storage case. This is a wonderful tool to use with fondant and gumpaste. I have always hand rolled my ropes which took forever and never were perfectly even. With a twist of the handle and the right tip I get perfect ropes, hair, tassels and other shapes. I highly recommend this tool for cake decorators and sculpters.

I would have given it 5 stars but I found 2 separate dark black hairs intertwined in the branches of the trees when I pulled them out of the packaging. As a beginning student, these were great. I especially liked the fact that they were ready to go, all you had to do was put it on the easel. My only suggestion was find a size that's right for you. After the first paining I did these feel a bit too small.

I liked the price of this a lot. I was painting more and more but couldn't afford so many canvases. This is a simple way to do some practicing.

Drawback is not being able to hang them immediately like with a canvas.

Tip: glue a string to the back either a short one in a loop or a long one straight across...or a peice of fabric in a loop or a peice of fabric with a soda can top on it (for the perfect hole to have it hang by.)

These canvas panels were as I expected. They work well for painting practice with both oil and acurlic paints. They would work well for childrens crafts, too. They are a bit rough to the touch but can be sanded down for a smoother canvas. I would and will buy them again.

Despite the package description, these embossing folders work perfectly in a Cuttlebug machine. I saw a U-Tube video that showed how to use them in the Cuttlebug; also, Impressibilities can be used in a Cuttlebug with the A,B and C plates, 1 of each.

I had wanted these for a while, and I'm glad I got them. They are versatile and fit well to the projects that I do. I really love the "Love Wish Dream" stamp, when I use it I use 2 different stamp clors (from colorbox) one on top, one on bottom, and fade them lightly (and carefully) to the middle. Another favorite of mine from this set is the "What if your fears and your dreams existed in the same place..would you still go there?"

If you use these decorative scissors on 80 lb. card stock or paper of a lesser weight, you should be fine, but when I attempted to cut an edge on Petaloo Glitter Paper Sheets Red White Pink and Chocolate these scissors chewed the paper, but didn't cut an edge. If I tried to use extra pressure on the scissors, they locked up and wouldn't cut at all.

Another not-so-great feature is the short length of the cutting blades on the Fiskars Paper Edgers. They will only cut 2.5" at a time, so you have to keep lining up blades to the cut edge, if you want to cut a longer length.

The decorative-edge scissors that I use most often are Fiskars 98987097 Softgrip Pinking Fabric Shears, which are quite a bit more expensive, but they cut a longer edge, and you can use them on heavier paper or cloth. Unfortunately, there isn't a large variety of edge designs in this product line.
