It is a compact, all around set. It has almost everything my little boy needed for his art class and it is easy for him to keep everything neat and manageable.
The 2 knots that hold everything together are a little tight so he needs my help to open and close it, which I don't think is a big deal and the chalks are hard to get out.
But overall, we both love it.

This was a Christmas gift for a granddaughter and she loves it. She paints pictures for me very often and enjoys her craft challenges.

My nine year old daughter loved this gift. This was a perfect version of a child's "true artist" set. The fact that you can decorate the outside of the carrying case made it even better. For all you get I think this set was a good price.
