This is a great little stamp set from Maya Road. I love the clear view so that you can see where you are stamping. The typewriter image is retro-adorable and I am using it for making my own note paper & for a quick business card with a hand-made indie look. The word stamps are an added bonus especially since the font they used has that vintage typewriter look.

This is a must have stamp for any crafter/artist or anyone who just loves a cool, well made stamp.

Reviews of 2 Pcs 60" Tape Measure & Retractable Tape Measure Sewing Accessory

2 Pcs 60' Tape Measure & Retractable Tape Measure Sewing Accessory Set

The retractable measuring tape broke the day I got it after only 3 normal measurements. When I tried to retract it back, it would just lock up at the next spot (and I was doing it quickly). This happened several times all the way to the max length of the tape and that was it, permanently stuck all the way extended. Then it went into the trash where it belonged.

I originally intended to purchase just a retractable measuring tape, but once I saw the set, I figured two was better than one. Turns out that has been true! I used to have a loose tape, which I used often but kind of dreaded using because of having to roll it back up. Now I'm able to keep the retractable tape in my junk drawer for quick household measurements (it's smaller and takes up less room than a standard measuring tape). I now only use the loose tape for body measurements and sizing. I also have a new baby that I measure each month for the sake of recording in his baby book, and I find the retractable tape works well for capturing an accurate measurement of his wiggly and noncompliant body.

We have these push button, retractable tape measures on every desk in our business. I also carry one in a pocket as I often measure things when shopping. We prefer the brighter colored ones as they are easier to see than the dark blue. They are used every day; especially the millimeter and centimeter side. Just flip the unit over and the other side of the tape has inches or mm/cm. Both sides of the tape are printed with red on white. The 60 inch side has a typical 1/16", ⅛",¼", etc., measurement. The 150 centimeter side is printed with millimeter, 5 mm, cm, & every 10 cm is highlighted up to 150 cm. I've purchased only one that didn't work properly. It was yellow & came with the regular, foldable tape measure for only $1.49. However, the single, retractable tape measure can be bought in various colors for $1.97 in the sewing/fabrics department everyday at Wal___t. The foldable fiberglass tape we got was nice on the inch side. However, the mm/cm side was sectioned every other 10 centimeters in black blocks of thin, hard to see, white mm lines. But, the white sections of black print on white are much easier to see. Note that the photos of the foldable tape show different tapes. One is a stock photo; the other is the actual tape.

Honest reviews on 2 Pcs 60" Tape Measure & Retractable Tape Measure Sewing Accessory

This is great! I like that it comes with both kinds of tape--one is great for weight, bust, etc. measurements and then the retractable one is excellent for random household measurements. A great, useful set at a great price.

I do not sew, but this combo of tapes worked for me. I was ordering a kilt and needed some measurements . It was more accurate than using a string and ruler.

I am a writer and I write everything out longhand. Needless to say I am very fussy about my pens, and I have always loved the microns. The tip size is perfect for writing and I like the earthy colors in this package. The pens last a long time and give a beautiful line when I'm writing. My only complaints are the barrel size (too small) and the cap -it doesn't stay on the end of the pens very well and pops off every so often. Not a big deal though, and I will definitely re-purchase again and again!

This pack of "Earth/Heritage" colors is basic and understated. It works great for professional use. I'd also recommend it for diary writing, journals, illustration, detailed crafts, and lines written in scrapbooks/photo albums. Water won't alter this ink at all. This ink says to water, "You talking to me?" I recommend these pens to anyone keeping their writing for the long term. Made in Japan.

Colors are unnamed, but I would describe them:

Dark olive green

Light green

Brown

Indigo/navy

Blue

Terracotta

Best Deals for Sakura 30069 6-Piece Pigma Micron Clam Assorted Colors 05

This was my first set of Sakura fine pens. I agree, they give my writing efforts a boost even on my bad days I'm a writing genius. The colors options are fabulous. High quality pens to say the least.

Honest reviews on Sakura 30069 6-Piece Pigma Micron Clam Assorted Colors 05

These pens are wonderful! The only reason I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5 is because the .45mm sometimes show shadow marks on the flip side of paper. The thinner ones do not. I have never had them completely bleed though thin paper. They dry instantly, are permanent, and do not smudge. You can write with them and drop water on the paper and not have any bleeding.

If you're looking for a pen that feels good, like a ball point, these are not good. They do not glide and the ink feels heavier but they give hand writing a nicer look.

I bought these for tangles and doodles, and they're wonderful. Sakura pens are great quality, and these are no different. The "Heritage/Earth" colors of this group is very pretty (deep brown, true blue, a reddish-clay-brown, deep green, dark navy, and an almost spring green), and I would definitely recommend them. The ink is true to the color on the pen, and flows smoothly onto the paper. They're fine point for detail work, though they aren't the smallest fine point available. They're a good price, and the shipping was faster than expected.

This stuff is great--and it really really works! Print any image from a word document onto the sheets of backed fabric. Just manipulate your images on your computer until you have the desired layout and design, print out a trial on a piece of paper and then load into your inkjet printer with the fabric sheets and hit print. Very high quality results. I did not have any problems getting my printer (Canon MP210) to take the sheets, there was absolutely no jamming or slippage. Once your sheet has been printed, carefully peel off the backing and then you are ready sew or other wise use your fabric. The fabric is treated cotton in a pretty fine and smooth weave so it doesn't interfere with images (at least not any of the many that I generated). The resulting fabric is a little stiffer than plain cotton cloth but not by much. Its definitely on the same order of thickness/stiffness as some of the commercially available quilting fabrics so there is no problem integrating your fabric that you design and print out with other fabric that you may want to use in some larger project. I used this product a couple of years ago and there has been no fading or any other damage or wear. The only thing you have to be aware of: don't get this stuff wet! Don't plan on making a washable quilt or shirt or anything else. Ink from an ink jet printer runs and smears on paper when it gets wet and you will have similar unpleasant effects with this fabric.

Best Deals for June Tailor june tailor sew-in colorfast fabric sheets for inkjet

This is definitely one of the better printer fabrics out there when it comes to print quality and washability. I have tried quite a few different fabrics and this one is the only one that is washable and has the crispest prints. There are two problems that I have encountered with this fabric.

1) The fabric is very tough/rough. It is difficult to manipulate and leaves holes where your needle has been.

2) The ink can scratch off a bit.

If you want to print something that can be washed and the texture of the fabric isn't that important to you, I recommend this product. As I said, I've tried quite a few different products and this one is the best in terms of print quality and washability.

Honest reviews on June Tailor june tailor sew-in colorfast fabric sheets for inkjet

The sheets are easy to work with. The paper backing peels easily from the fabric. I made a quilt with them and the colorfastness remains to be seen. Otherwise, great delivery time.

I have purchased two 25 packs of this fabric. I have not had the oportunity to try it. I hope i wont be disappointed. I do however find the price reasonable compared to other places i have looked. I have used iron on transfer and it is easily damaged. I wanted something that won't scratch and that could be washed. I hope to some day learn how to make a quilt and i hope these will be good for that.

I purchased this set of paints because the description at the top of the shopping page says,

"18 mil tubes of paint" When I received the set, they are actually 12 mil tubes of paint. There are 18 tubes of paint in this set. I think that the description is faulty and needs to be corrected.

i was very much excited about getting my hands on these, and im far from dissapointed. I'm new to using oils to paint my sulpts... and for me this is a decent variety of colours :) (want more colours just mix em). Most importantly i must say:

1. I much prefer these 'water mixable' oils to the regular oils with their harsh smelling chemicals needed to work with them (paint thinners)

2. For anyone buying this that is new to oil paint MUST buy a bottle of linseed oil or Alkyd resin (for oil paint takes forever to dry!!! Mixing this helps)

I was using an aftermarket free motion foot and did not have success with it. I have a Janome HD 1000 and bought it for

machine quilting (great machine btw!). After much frustration I decided to try out this this Janome brand foot.. Now I

I can free motion quilt like a pro! It makes me look good! I was relieved it was the hardware not my technique that was lacking! This is a well made foot and it allows me to see what I am doing. I wish it came with more instructions for the other components included, but that is the only complaint I have. Worth the price!

Great quilting foot and I like the different attachments. It doesn't jump up and down like the others I have tried

Best Deals for Janome Convertible Free Motion Quilting Foot Set for Low Shank

I recently purchased this to fit on my Janome DC2013 model sewing machine. I am relatively new to quilting, but after watching umpteen how-to YouTube videos, I felt I was ready to try my hand at free motion machine quilting. After some initial experimentation, I tackled my first big project, a twin sized quilt. It took a few minutes and several attempts, but I was soon stitching away.

I liked the choice of open/closed toe options and how easily the foot attached to my machine. As other reviewers have stated, I wish the foot had come with some instructions, but I was lucky to have my sewing machine manual handy and was able to switch out the foot without much fuss. After a couple days of practicing on my twin throw, I'm comfortable enough with the foot to start on some of my UFO full/queen sized tops that have been stacking up. Once you invest the time into getting to know your machine with this foot attached, free motion quilting becomes much less intimidating and I've started getting excited about the new designs that this investment makes possible on my home machine. I am interested in a long arm machine...one day. But until I decide to make that quite large and expensive purchase, this product offers enough flexibility and versatility to keep me interested and exploring new quilting patterns.

I'm going to try and upload a photo of the twin quilt I finished up this week using this foot. Please keep in mind that it was my first ever free motion quilting experiment, but I was still quite happy with the finished result, uneven stitches due to user error and all.

Honest reviews on Janome Convertible Free Motion Quilting Foot Set for Low Shank

The reason I gave the product this rating is because there were no directions on how to attach to your sewing machine.

This product was purchased for a 10 yr old for her birthday. She wanted to do real art, but had so far shown very little aptitude and almost no ability to stay on task or follow directions. what i liked about this product is that there are clear step-by-step instructions showing the user how to do the basics with pastels, including example pictures that teach the different ways an inexperienced user can make use of the nature of pastels. She (with some urging) did follow the directions, and made some beautiful pieces. I feel this product would be excellent for any person wishing to learn how to use pastels with no previous experience. I have no experience whatsoever with them or with any other art supplies, therefore could not help her.

I would not recommend this product for any child under the age of 10, and in some cases not for under the age of 13 or so. My stepdaughter tends to be irresponsible for her age, and she has stained clothes and wasted a good amount of the pastels by using them inappropriately. durability is not really applicable to this product pastels are not durable per se.

I'll say this again and again: the Knook is a brilliant concept! I've been knitting and crocheting for around twenty-six years, and for a long time I've thought of Tunisian crochet as sort of bridging the gap between the needles and the hook. And now, the Knook actually *does* bridge the gap; I can easily flow from a knit fabric to crochet and back again without ever having to change the basic tool with which I'm working; I can even throw in some Tunisian entrelac crochet for good measure if I feel like it. Crochet edging around a knit project? A snap! The Knook concept is so simple that it's brilliant. If you're already familiar with Tunisian crochet, then you will most likely be able to pick up the Knook rather quickly.

A few weeks ago I bought The Knook Kit at Walmart, and it was cheaper than on Amazon (nothing against Amazon; I just happened to walk past the display in the store and picked it up on impulse). Inside the blister pack, you get three Knooks, in sizes G (6/4mm), H (8/5mm), and I (9/5.5mm), three different colours of cord (which serve as your "lifeline," and hold your working fabric), and a 32-page instruction booklet. The booklet contains patterns for a simple infinity scarf (to practise the garter stitch), a spa cloth (which allows you to practise purling on the Knook), a baby blanket (which is composed of a dozen squares that allow you to switch back and forth from knitting to purling), and a diamond lap throw (which is worked in three long strips). All patterns are designed for beginners and are worked with worsted weight yarns. There are more Knook patterns on-line; there is even a sampler scarf pattern that is worked in both knit and crochet -it's actually pretty cool.

TIP: before you get started with the Knook, I recommend watching the free video tutorials online; there are quite a few of them, and you can see how the Knook can be used to make cables, work in the round, etc. Do a search for them or check the manufacturer's Web site; you'll find them.

ANOTHER TIP: the Knooks are made of bamboo; one or all of them may feel a little rough. If this is the case for you, then simply put a drop or two of oil (grapeseed, olive, coconut, or another vegetable oil) on your hands, and give the Knooks a little polish. Leave the Knooks alone overnight to allow the oil to be absorbed into the fibres. This smoothed out the rough spots on my Knooks; it may do the same for yours.

For an experienced knitter/crocheter, I wouldn't say that there's too great of a learning curve for the Knook; rather, it's more of an "adjustment curve." It took me a little bit of time to adjust to knitting with a hook and a cord, especially because I can knit faster with two needles -and I'm not even an exceptionally fast knitter. The main frustration that I occasionally have with the Knook is that the loops of my working fabric sometimes get smaller and tighten around the lifeline cord. This happens because I might hold the working fabric a bit too tightly, or I accidentally pull on the fabric when turning, or what-have-you. The resulting effect is that it slows me down because I have to manually tug on the next loop slightly to allow the Knook to pass through it. Multiply this minor inconvenience by the number of loops I have to manually expand, and the time does add up. For the sake of a brilliantly concepted product, I'm going to chalk this up to my adjustment curve. As far as doing cables: maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have two knitting needles and a cable needle. While one *can* do cables on the Knook, it's just faster the traditional way.

Really strong positives for the Knook: it's great for crocheters who don't know how to knit with two needles and want to create knitted fabrics; for projects on the road, the Knook is totally portable (no fears of losing the second knitting needle or a broken cable on circulars!); and it's good for simple stitches like stockinette or garter. An added bonus is that once you learn how to use the Knook, you're just one step away from learning to do Tunisian crochet.

Things that made the execution less-than-thrilling for me: it takes longer to knit with the Knook than with two needles; while you're learning (or in the adjustment curve phase), your knitted fabrics may turn out a bit lacier than you'd expect, or uneven in tension (as other reviewers have commented); and the lifeline cord is a bit awkward to work with. On one occasion, I was working on a piece that was kind of wide, and I accidentally pulled out the wrong end of the lifeline. Sadness. It wasn't *too* grim, though, because picking up the stitches is fairly easy ... it's also frustrating.

Would I still keep working with the Knook? Yes. Would I recommend the Knook to someone else, or buy it as a gift for someone? Yes. Its potential as a tool is exciting; I'd like to see this product do well and see more kits with larger sizes of Knooks, too. If I were recommending this or giving it to someone, I'd also want to spend some good old-fashioned, in-person, stitch-n-bitch time with her/him to provide positive reinforcement and encouragement through the awkward adjustment curve phase. A product like this really benefits from the social learning aspect of knitting groups, because when you're having fun while learning, you're teaching yourself to love the process, and that's vital. Video tutorials are one thing, but it's tough to replace the interaction and laughter when learning with others.

The real kicker for me is this: Would I use the Knook every day, or at least on a regular basis? At this point, no. Because I'm faster and more comfortable with my needles and hooks, I'll stick with those for most of my projects; and I'll turn to the Knook every once in a while to mix things up.

Try it out; if you don't like it or get frustrated, then put the Knook away for a few days or weeks, and then go back to it again and give it another shot. Better yet, if you have a friend who's also interested in the Knook, then get one set and learn together. At the very least, you'll then be able to say you gave it a fair shot and made an informed decision about whether or not the Knook works for you. Happy stitching!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Yes, I read the other reviews and I must admit I thought them surprising. If you do not know how to knit, or if you have issues with using the two knitting needles, then the Knook might work very well for you. I have crocheted for years, and knitted only when forced to because I found the needles ackward. Probably just something I struggled with, having leaned to crochet first, that is where my comfort level was. When I saw the Knook I thought 'what the heck' it is based upon a crochet hook maybe I will like it better. I picked it up at Hobby Lobby for $9.00 (sorry Amazon) and brought it home. In just a few minutes I was creating both a knit and pearl stitch. Having crocheted for years, the learning curve was about 20 seconds. Some say it is not as fast as knitting, and that might well be true for accomplished knitters, but if you have never knitted, or struggled to knit this is an easy solution to get you going. I like it because it is very easy to pick up and put down if interrupted, easy to pick up any missed or dropped stitches as you go, and yes, you can create many other knitted combination stitches. About the only thing I have not been able to get it to do is circular work...but I am working on that! I easily knitted a scarf in one evening while watching television, as the technique seemed natural to me after crocheting for so long. So, if you want to knit but put it off, give this a try. The other nice thing about this was that the instructions were done for left hand and right hand separately so you did not have to try to decode right hand instructions to get yourself going something we left handers appreciate.

Best Deals for Knook Expanded Beginner Kit

I have been using my Knook for a couple of weeks and I am really impressed with the results I am seeing. I do crochet and have tried knitting with needles several times but just can't seem to get both my hands to work together. I like the smoothness of the knit stitch so I decided to order the Knook.

It works a little differently than regular crochet, so read the directions thoroughly. You Tube is a fantastic resource. Also check out the manufacturer's website for more instructions, videos, and patterns.

One tip: I found it helpful to apply Fray Check, a clear seam sealant, to the ends of the silky cords that are used with the hook. This makes the ends stiffer so they go through the small holes in the hooks more easily. I applied it with my fingers, starting about one inch from the ends and running my fingers down and off the ends of the cords. It dries in a few minutes.

And be patient! It always takes me a while to learn any new skill with my hands (you have heard of people who are ambidexterous? Well, I am no-bidexterous), but I was doing pretty well after a few hours. If you are coordinated enough to already be a knitter, you will probably find that the Knook is slower than your needles. But for those like me that like the look but can't control the needles and yarn at the same time, The Knook appears to be an answer. It is going slower than my usual crochet, but I am improving and gaining confidence. I am working on my first Knooked scarf and have it by my chair so I can work on it while watching TV. Every time I pick it up I find I am a little faster than before. I am glad I ordered the Knook.

Update 10/6/2012 I am now Knooking much faster than I can knit! I have completed a couple of scarves for Christmas presents (and one for me!). I have also found a perfect use for the Knook: Check out the new "yarns" that make the ruffly, frilly scarves. I tried knitting one but I had the same old problems. Then I found a crochet pattern, but that was a disaster! This "yarn" is made into a netting type fabric a couple of inches wide, and after I crocheted the first row, I couldn't find the stitches. With the Knook, the stitches are held in place with the working cord, which seperates them from the rest of the yarn and makes it very simple to make these georgious scarves. Because each scarf is 10 stitches or less across,( I made one with 4 stitches across that made it really long) it doesn't take too long to finish one, but each stitch takes longer to do than working with a single stranded yarn.

I like my Knook more and more with each completed project.

Honest reviews on Knook Expanded Beginner Kit

As a crocheter for 20 years, I was really excited to try something that combines crocheting technique with a knit result.

I just got my Knook last night, and have just tried it out. The hooks are surprisingly smaller than I had expected, since I'm used to the bulkiness of crochet stitches produced by regular hooks, and these hooks look slightly smaller than my regular hooks. I started out watching the videos on the Leisure Arts website and made a swatch.

I gave this only 3 stars because so far the knit fabric looks lacier than what I could have produced on comparative sized knitting needles with this same yarn. Maybe it will take more practice, or just accept that the knit material is not going to be tightly woven.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Knook Expanded Beginner Kit

I crochet better than I knit. I am a terribly SLOW knitter. It just frustrates me to take 2 hours to knit a 12 inch square when I could do it in half the time with crochet. With that comes a downside to crochet though. You use twice as much yarn! I was feeling rather frustrated about my knitting abilities and then along comes this neat idea.

I can now knook with the amount of yarn that knitting uses AND still have my trusty crochet hook in my hand. I do not have to be concerned about using either the English or Continental method or having my dumb knitting needle go kerplunk on the floor, thus, leaving all those loops staring at me. Ugh, I so hate that. I love that the cord doesn't go anywhere; just safely holds the knooking in place. And the rib stitch should be a cinch as changing to knit and purl is way less cumbersome than knitting the regular way. As for speed, crochet is fastest, knooking comes in second, and knitting comes in dead last. Now, this is for me. For strong knitters, of course, knitting would still be faster. I am going to have to practice with the garter and stockinette stitch for awhile to get my tension figured out. This will just take some time I think.

The bamboo hooks included are a nice way to get started. I would like to see more of a variety, but hopefully, with time that will happen. In the meantime, adding a cord to my regular set works too. (It is better to have the hole in the hook though.) As for the patterns included, they give a good introduction to this craft and other regular knitting ones you already have should also work (with a bit of adjustment).

All in all, I'm going to like this cool tool.

EDIT: I am downgrading this one star; I was a bit too generous at first, being excited about the concept. After writing this review, this 'cool tool' has ended up on my shelf. Since I knit 'some', I figure just knit slower and do the real thing. IF you don't knit at all, then I say, sure go for it and buy one. Hopefully it won't languish on your shelf like my knook does for me.

These templates are the ones needed for the latest Pacific Fabrics Block of the Month 2014, Woodland. I am amazed and the differences in price posted by the sellers. This was the least expensive, but just like the other sets I have.

Bought this because the original Play-Doh set was sold out. I really don't like the rolling pin because you need to use the palm of your hand instead of the handles. The tube and attachments are too big, and the dough goes around the shapes instead of through it. The orange circles can only be used with your thumbs, making it a little messy and not very long pieces of spaghetti or other shapes. The scissors smoosh the dough instead of cutting, which just causes chaos with my son because it's "not right!". If you have the choice between this and the original Play-Doh set, go for the good one! I will continue to use this because it's all we have, but am going to hold out for the original and keep this as a back-up!

This is one of the best toys I got so far for my 21 month toddler. She LOVES playing with the PlayDoh, but she still lacks the coordination to make figures by herself. This product is great for this age. She figured out very quickly how to use the accessories to mold the PlayDoh. Now she wants to play with it every day, and she is learning to play by herself, so it gives me free time! I definitely recommend it.

Two more comments:

It comes with scissors and some smaller pieces. I just put these apart until she grows up a little. The rest of the accessories are very safe for a young child.

It only comes with two colors. But for me that is enough. In fac, I always use one of them. My child is still small enough to play with two colors without mixing. So this is not a disadvantage. But if the child is older, I recommend buying some more play doh to complement.

And this is it. I wish there was a small bag to put all together, too. I am using one of those nice plastic bags from some shoes I bought her. But it would be a nice complement.

This set was a real disappointment. The only good part was the tubs of playdoh themselves.. But if 2 new colors were all we wanted we could have saved money and bought them separately. The plunger, which should hold the end cap pieces -will not. The strip of shapes is very hard to use and the rolling pin doesn't work any better than your palm because nothing really rolls or moves on it. The scissors pinch and are very stiff. The only thing that works as it should is the knife! Very disappointing. This set is a far cry from what it should be.

I bought this to go along with another play doh work shop. The cookie cutters are bigger than I expected that's awesome! We haven't used them yet (birthday gift) but everything appears to be great quality. We are really looking forward to playing with them!

My 2(almost 3) year-old son loves play-doh we play it together so when I saw this set at a bargain price in the local supermarket I thought it would be ideal. The rolling pin and shape cutters are great, he really likes to play with them as well as the plastic scissors and knife(because they are plastic he won't cut himself). I am however rather disappointed with the extruder tube as only the ruler with shapes fits in it, the orange things don't at all, guess we won't be making spaghetti play-doh. You can only push the play-doh though with your thumb, basically the orange things are useless and a bit of a waste. Other than that this set was okay value wise and my son loves to play with it. I think an older child probably wouldn't be as easily pleased though.
