I purchased the Crochet Lite Hook, size G, mainly because it's 4.5mm, most G hooks are 4mm. I've been crocheting over 40 years; 95% of the time I use Boye aluminum hooks. The plastic Crochet Lite was a little hard to get used to because yarn doesn't slide off of it like it does with an aluminum hook. Also the shank seemed a little short, but I soon got used to it. Like Boye crochet hooks, the Crochet Lite is a tapered hook. Another type of hook is called inline. Bates hooks are inline hooks. An inline hook does not taper at the throat.

This hook is light in weight, not heavy at all. The wider handle makes it easy to hold if you have arthritis in your fingers. The switch is on the side of the handle & doesn't get in the way. Batteries come with the Crochet Lite hook. The shaft lights up to provide some light in the immediate area you're crocheting. Depending on how dark the room is, I might have to hold the shaft above the area I'm crocheting to see a few of the stitches in the row. Most of the time, I don't need to use the light. It does come in handy when the room is dark & helps make seeing the stitches a little easier. Once in a while, when I'm using a very dark yarn, I will turn the light on to help me see the stitches too.

All in all, the Crochet Lite hook is handy for crocheting in low-light areas or for helping see the stitches in dark yarn. The wide handle makes it easier for someone with arthritis to hold.

I bought one of these at first and have now purchased all sizes available.

They are great to use in low light and/or with dark yarns. They don't really help any in decent light with light yarn, but that's not what they're made for.

They are Sooooooooo comfortable to use with the larger, non-slip place to hold. What I noticed right off is that the "business end" is a little short. I guess I use more of the hook than I thought. At first, I kept hitting the handle. I did get used to it quite quickly, though, and no longer do that. If you do a lot of roll stitches, it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

The other issue, which isn't one as long as you realize it, is that the sizes are not true. If you need a size I, for example, order a size H; for size H, order size G. Unfortunately, they don't come larger than a size J. Hopefully, the company will expand its line.

Overall, I'm really happy with them and would buy more sizes if they were available. I only gave a 4-star rating because of the short usable shank and the limitation of sizes available.

I just ordered two hooks and am so excited to use them. I got these so quick and they are so helpful for dark yarn and crocheting in the dark. I have tried crocheting when I go to the movies and can do it but I think these hooks will make it so much easier and now my hubby doesn't have to keep lights on when we are watching a movie at home. At first I thought this was kind of expensive for one hook but they are well worth the money.

Yes, it's true I have Art ADD. I can't help it...there are so many neat art products/supplies/techniques out there, I find it impossible to settle on just one. I can eat just one potato chip I cannot, however, stick with just one artistic process. (For which the Craft and Hobby Association is thankful, I am sure.)

Forever and a day ago, Lisa Pavelka was a (consistent) guest on the Carol Duvall Show. One of the projects was made with this foil and I had tucked the knowledge away in my ever-overflowing and chaotic brain. When I ran across these on Amazon, my memory was triggered and I decided to get some. Then I realized these are part of the "four-for-three promotion" and decided the Universe was egging me on to get these. So I did. (I don't argue with the Universe especially when it blatantly tells me to order something.) I'm thrilled I listened!

Upon the arrival, I was working on another project a metal stand. Although I have many other ways I could have decorated the stand, I wanted to work with these foils since they were new...and I'm so glad I did! Not only are they fantastic on polymer clay, I am thrilled to report these work extremely well on metal, also. They are easier to control than Jones Tones Foils if you are working on a small, nook-and-cranny-type project. Since these foils are activated with heat (the friction created by rubbing with your finger) and not with pressure (like many other foils) they adhere really well without much work. (I used the red-line tape to adhere the foil to the metal but many other adhesive options are available. If you are using the foil with clay you don't need an additional adhesive the foil "automatically" sticks.) The foil sticks so close to the surface it almost looks like it's embedded. This is especially true with clay.

I haven't used the foils on polymer clay...yet. Oh it's calling me, don't get me wrong. That said, it works well on metal and fills in the smallest cracks and crevices. Each sheet is a decent size providing plenty of foil for all but the largest projects. The directions are easy to follow...the foil colors are bright (the metallics are beautiful!)...the plastic case they come in helps to protect the delicate foil and is a perfect storage container for them...and the amount you use is a variable you control. Rub and create some good heat if you want a lot of color transferred gently and slowly rub if you only want partial color transfer. (Lisa advises using a piece of "deli wrap" or "waxed tissue patty paper" in order to rub faster and therefore build up heat more quickly.) The color lay down is beautiful and will add cool points to any project you're working on. The result looks much more complicated than it actually is only you will know how easy it actually was.

I can see these foils working on just about any substrate. (I'm not sure if they'll stand up to washing the directions don't say anything about heat setting. Although, you can get more information at you'll find "more of Lisa's foil tips, techniques, tricks, and projects".)

If you are a general crafter/artist, into polymer clay, or just like adding different techniques to your repertoire, these will be a welcome addition to your supply arsenal. You'll be glad you got them and surprised at their versatility. Wood, paper, metal, glass...go nuts these aren't just for clay, baby!

I wouldn't buy this product again. It was a waste of money. I watched her videos a few times to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I followed her directions exactly and what I found with this product was that if a spot doesn't transfer I could never get it to transfer onto that spot no matter what I did or however many times I went over it with a new piece of the foil. So you end up wish spots all over the clay that the clay shows through. Also in her video she says that "if" you have a problem with the colors fading you can use permanent markers to brighten it back up. I found that all the colors faded when baked at the recommended temperatures. I'll be honest, after spending money on this product, I don't want it to fade and have to go through the hassle of then repainting it. It's still a bit pretty but not near as bright. I'd rather use pearlex which doesn't fade. My friend and I tested the foils and both had the same issues with the above as well as bubbling of the product. The last issue I had with it was that on a larger piece I did to test it out I had large circular scratches in the surface of the foil from the paper I was using that didn't roll out when I used an acrylic roller on it. Be aware that if you have to roll to get rid of any surface problems that you'll get fine cracking in the foil. That's fine if you're wanting a cracking technique but not if you want it smooth and sparkly.

As I said it wasn't just me with the problems. My friend in Florida had all the same above issues as I did. I will save my money in the future. Otherwise I might have thought either I was doing something wrong or that the particular package I had was too old or something. It's just too difficult to use and doesn't give satisfactory results which is a shame. I was looking forward to it.

The retractable measuring tape broke the day I got it after only 3 normal measurements. When I tried to retract it back, it would just lock up at the next spot (and I was doing it quickly). This happened several times all the way to the max length of the tape and that was it, permanently stuck all the way extended. Then it went into the trash where it belonged.

I originally intended to purchase just a retractable measuring tape, but once I saw the set, I figured two was better than one. Turns out that has been true! I used to have a loose tape, which I used often but kind of dreaded using because of having to roll it back up. Now I'm able to keep the retractable tape in my junk drawer for quick household measurements (it's smaller and takes up less room than a standard measuring tape). I now only use the loose tape for body measurements and sizing. I also have a new baby that I measure each month for the sake of recording in his baby book, and I find the retractable tape works well for capturing an accurate measurement of his wiggly and noncompliant body.

We have these push button, retractable tape measures on every desk in our business. I also carry one in a pocket as I often measure things when shopping. We prefer the brighter colored ones as they are easier to see than the dark blue. They are used every day; especially the millimeter and centimeter side. Just flip the unit over and the other side of the tape has inches or mm/cm. Both sides of the tape are printed with red on white. The 60 inch side has a typical 1/16", ⅛",¼", etc., measurement. The 150 centimeter side is printed with millimeter, 5 mm, cm, & every 10 cm is highlighted up to 150 cm. I've purchased only one that didn't work properly. It was yellow & came with the regular, foldable tape measure for only $1.49. However, the single, retractable tape measure can be bought in various colors for $1.97 in the sewing/fabrics department everyday at Wal___t. The foldable fiberglass tape we got was nice on the inch side. However, the mm/cm side was sectioned every other 10 centimeters in black blocks of thin, hard to see, white mm lines. But, the white sections of black print on white are much easier to see. Note that the photos of the foldable tape show different tapes. One is a stock photo; the other is the actual tape.

I have several sets of soft pastels and pastel pencils. I like to do fine detailed work.

These sticks are harder than my handmade pastels and therefor useful for doing details like fur, hair, or eyes when painting human or pet portraits or grass and tree trunks when doing landscapes. I can get a very hard line by breaking them, in fact, much better than my pencils. I like the broad array of colors as well. This has become my "go-to" box. I think the value is very good, but I would also invest in a softer, creamier brand to supplement this set.

very usefull. Many colours, small size. I sugest not to mix so many and various colours,in one box. I prefers more variations of less colours. For example, a box with variations of browns, greens and skin colours and obviously b&w. Another box with blues, greys, and another with more fantasy colours.

Some of the BEST watercolour paint around and at a great price! They have a honey like consistency and 80% of the colours offered are single pigments, which is want you want. No issues with muddying when layering due to high pigment load. These are just as good as other "Artist" quality paints and even better than some of the most expensive around such as Bockx, Art Spectrum and such which by the way, are outrageously priced.

These rival the quality of Winsor and Newton 5 series and Daniel Smith. I also love MaimeriBlu, Da Vinci and Holbein, even though Holbein has the worst information on their labels and you need to be careful with blends and fugitive pigments. I only get certain colors with these paints. I really cannot afford Daniel Smith and will not pay $30 for a Winsor and Newton paint color in a 15ml tube!

The only thing is that MG paints do stain, so lifting could be an issue.

Highly recommended.

If you've already bought a set of colored chalks with a single applicator, you already know that it is difficult to clean that applicator and then use it with a second color. These Pebbles chalks have three pom-poms of various sizes packaged with each set of colors, and a 'jaws' applicator that you use to pick up an individual pom-pom, saturate it with colored chalk, and apply it to your project. The pom-poms are reusable and don't have to be cleaned. When you change colors, pick up one of the pom-poms that is packaged with that color, saturate, and apply.

The pom-poms are a nice size for applying chalk to small areas of your project, such as coloring a sanded edge.

The relatively long applicator keeps your hands from getting all chalky--another benefit of this craft kit.

I also like the piece of plastic that is moulded to fit down into each individual chalk well. It keeps the colors in their place, and the chalk box doesn't get smeared.

Here are the sizes of these decorative oval dies, from large to small: 7"x9"; 5.75"x7.5"; 4.75"x6.25"; and 3.85"x5". I used the second smallest oval for an A7 (5"x7") Easter card (see customer image) and the smallest oval can be used for an A2 (4.25"x5.5") card. The two largest ovals are probably meant for scrapbook pages.

The directions on how to use these dies with the Spellbinders Wizard, the Big Kick by Sizzix, and the Cuttlebug by Provocraft come with every set of dies, and they are very clear and easy to follow.

My only problem with these dies are the little pieces of left-over paper that have to be cleaned out of the dies after the ovals have been created. This is just a minor annoyance and the ovals make very nice backgrounds for stamps or paper silhouettes.

As a professional crafter with a business of my own, I often use rubber stamps. Cavallini's are beautiful stamps in a charming tin case mounted on lovely wood blocks. The problem? Any crafter with rubber stamping experience will take one look at Cavallini's stamps and see the problem: they lack the foam portion between the block & the stamp itself. The foam is an important detail, necessary to create a stamp that distributes pressure evenly. In layman's terms, it can be very difficult at times to get the entire image stamped. When I use Cavallini's stamps, often the center of the image doesn't imprint. Very frustrating. I also have found the ink pad included to be equally worthless, mine were dry and useless when I got them.

Cavallini & Co., you need to redesign your stamps to be like the ones they sell in craft stores: they need the foam! Otherwise half the time they're worthless. I've honestly never seen stamps sold without the foam portion, so it's pretty surprising Cavallini had the gall to produce and sell these for $25 a set when they're so obviously lacking in quality!

These stamps are attractive and well-made. However, one stamp is a butterly with words behind it, another is of two small butterflies together. It's as is shown on the cover, but I was surprised. Also, each stamp has a small number on it as well as the butterfly. I was able to cut off the numbers and the unwanted words, but it did take some time.

I used this product to craft a wedding cake shaped card box by cutting out the bottoms for 2 of the smaller boxes and stacking them (similar to the picture of the product). I painted them white with flat spray paint and was happy that the cardboard holds paint very well. Very happy with this purchase.

I found a couple of these pens in the back of a drawer after 19 years!!! And they still work as beautifully as the first day I used them 20 years ago. They were not dried and hard like the other brands I also found back there. Truly amazing. Very good quality. I often love and have oodles of 3mm and 5mm lines, but this is bolder than a Flair pen for example and just feels good in your hands. The pen has a classic, artsy, yet simple design. I am never ashamed to pull it out in public. It's got style.

So, artists enjoy and pen freaks, give it a shot. The colors are nice, too! Sometimes only red will do. They have purple and the world definitely needs more purple ink.
