I did not use this for its intended purpose. I personalized footprint art for my infant's grandmothers and framed it for Mother's Day. The kit really helped pull the whole piece together and look professional.

I was desparate for a tool that would help me gouge away rotted composite decking from the screw heads on our deck! Our deck material had swelled and warped to the point that you could not see the screw heads that were holding the boards in place. I tried a mat knife but that was too dangerous; the blade threatened to snap each time. This tool NEVER gave up as I whacked away the warped decking around each screw head, positioning the punch at an good angle and hit it with a mallet. The gouge is still sharp, the whacking end still in great shape. It is an unorthodox use, to be sure but a great tool. I hope I never have to use it again, but then again maybe I will take up leatherworking! Ha!

Crown Molding Templates Review

I suppose you could easily make a set yourself, but these are inexpensive and virtually unbreakable. They are a great reference before you cut expensive trim to confirm that your miter saw is set to the correct angle/tilt. I did deduct 1 star because they come with large print labels that you place on the templates yourself, which provides the opportunity for them to get placed on the wrong template. If they were already affixed it would avoid the possibility for this mistake to happen. Better yet they could have embossed it into the templates so unlike the labels you would not have to worry about them fading away or coming off (which would also save the company the cost of labels!). All-in-all worth the purchase despite this minor shortcoming

Teaching myself to do crown molding almost drive me to drink! I made a couple of rough patterns. They helped me know if I was about to make my cut backwards, but these are much better. I can now make sure I also get the correct angle, not just the correct direction. Just pay close attention when you put the stickers on each piece. I think this product would have been better if they came labeled, but it is a small price to pay to stay sane.

Discount Butterfly Rubber Stamp Set By Cavallini & Co.

As a professional crafter with a business of my own, I often use rubber stamps. Cavallini's are beautiful stamps in a charming tin case mounted on lovely wood blocks. The problem? Any crafter with rubber stamping experience will take one look at Cavallini's stamps and see the problem: they lack the foam portion between the block & the stamp itself. The foam is an important detail, necessary to create a stamp that distributes pressure evenly. In layman's terms, it can be very difficult at times to get the entire image stamped. When I use Cavallini's stamps, often the center of the image doesn't imprint. Very frustrating. I also have found the ink pad included to be equally worthless, mine were dry and useless when I got them.

Cavallini & Co., you need to redesign your stamps to be like the ones they sell in craft stores: they need the foam! Otherwise half the time they're worthless. I've honestly never seen stamps sold without the foam portion, so it's pretty surprising Cavallini had the gall to produce and sell these for $25 a set when they're so obviously lacking in quality!

These stamps are attractive and well-made. However, one stamp is a butterly with words behind it, another is of two small butterflies together. It's as is shown on the cover, but I was surprised. Also, each stamp has a small number on it as well as the butterfly. I was able to cut off the numbers and the unwanted words, but it did take some time.

I loved the thought of small organizers to plan out my bead projects or better collect my jump rings into compartments based on their size. The Darice 4.5" x 3.5" x 1" neon transparent organizer set of four seemed to be the answer. However, I received the product with one of the trays already broken. Then, another stopped closing. The plastic is just so brittle that it won't hold up to stress. I glued the first back together, and I tape the second shut. I'm waiting for the others to fail. I can't keep anything loose in the trays, for fear that, when something does happen, I'll have beads or jump rings or whatever all over the place. I use tiny zipper bags. This proves that "pretty" doesn't always mean that it's a good idea.

* If you can't see the item photo well, the inside of the boxes has five compartments. The row along the hinge side has three, and the front side has two. The larger of the two on the front side is exactly equal to the length of two compartments in the back row. The size of the small compartment is approximately 1.33" x 1.5", and the large one is 2.8" x 1.5".

Good professional art markers, equal to the quality of the Copix and the Tria nib system I feel is better than the Copix as it includes a third, super-fine, nib. This nib is nearly the width of a technical pen's line and is awesome for drawing/coloring very small or detailed areas.

One problem, however: the tins these sets come in while tasteful (and probably useful for students to tote the markers to class) are a nightmare in a studio. They are not designed to stack atop each other and take up a lot of room when open. Copix can get 36 markers into a bin that takes up less than the footprint of these silly black tins holding only 12 markers. So unless you want tins all over the place, buying several of these sets could be unwise. Oh: and if you buy the large 72-marker set, does it come in some sort of well-designed bin? No. It comes in several of these awful tins, apparently.

The numbering of this kit is somewhat confusing. It appears that the numbers were handwritten in the spaces and some spaces aren't numbered, while others are numbered and don't have that color paint. However it is a fun kit to improvise on, and the inside of the packaging can be used for practice. The picture is pretty when completed.

(#1 REVIEWER)I had my Olfa rotary blade for over 10 years. I use it practically every week, so it gets a lot of work.

I use my rotary cutter for quilting fabric, cutting photographic paper, cutting regular paper. My blades do a lot of work!

I use a rotary blade sharpener to prolong the life of each blade for a long time. I have re-sharpened each blade at least 10 times each. I see improved cutting (for example, on fabric you stop getting a few threads that did not get cut on the first stroke).

These blades are very high quality, they take many re-sharpening and continue to work as new!

For most part of the 10 years I have re-sharpened my Olfa rotary blade, I used a rotary blade sharperner Rotary Blade SharpenerFor 45mm Blades

To sharpen the blade, you to disassemble the rotary cutter, which has a number of pieces including the blade. Then you place the the blade between two round circles the sharpener. Each side facing the blade has sand paper, that polishes out the nicks in the blade. You sharpen the blade by rotating the two pieces of the sharper against each other. After the sharpening you have to move the blade back to the rotary cutter, and then reassemble the rotary cutter correctly (one has to remember how pieces fit together exactly).

Recently I discovered a sharpener that works without having to remove the blade from the cutter. It works by using the same motion as you cut, by moving the cutter in the sharpener itself. Not having to remove the blade from the sharpener is a *huge* advantage. It is faster, less chance of cutting yourself, and no chance of assembling the rotary cutter the wrong way (been there, done that). It is called "TrueCut"TrueCut Rotary Blade Sharpener

Both rotary cutters work well and prolong the life your blades, and thus save you money.

So I highly recommend this blade refill and its usage with the blade sharpener.

The olfa rotary blade refill 45mm-5 pack is great to have on hand when my blade gets dull, nicked or damaged. The 45mm is the middle size cutter that I can handle easily through many fabric thicknesses. The notched opening in center holds blades well.

Even though the felt kits are somewhat time consuming, they are not difficult to make. I will continue to make felt stockings and tree skirts as long as I am able to do so.

This craft kit had everything I needed to begin ( well, except scissors ).The materials are all of good qulity.

HOWEVER, if you are new to needlecraft, as I am, the instructions are not for dummies. Take the time to look over the pages carefully and read everything BEFORE you start ! LOL !! Also, practice the stitches on scraps first.

Luckily, the reason I chose this kit is because it WAS made up of small, individual stockings. So...I am embroidering the pictures I don't really like first and if they come out a bit off I don't mind so much !

I would recommend this product to anyone as the quality of the materials is excellent and the patterns are classy ( I found most beginner crafts cheap and tacky ).

If you're experienced at cross stitch this is a great kit! It's nice to have something that you can work on in small bits ... I tend to work on cross stitch in meetings and so forth and I like only needing a small amount of material at any given time. Quality is good and the designs are very nice.

Some of the color names are a bit weird, and sorting the colors therefore took a little while. If you are new to cross stitch this may not be the place to start as the instructions are very terse. If you know what you're doing, this is plain sailing.

If you're new to cross-stich, this might not be the project to start on. But for everyone else, this is a great package. The patterns are terrific, with lots of blending of colours yes, that means one cross here and one cross there, which takes a bit longer but the result is worth it, and has the quality look in the end. So far I've made about 14 of the patterns and everyone I gave them to raved about them. They really look lovely if you package up a few together as a gift. I didn't follow the instructions to finish them with cardboard under the felt on the back. Instead I sewed the Aida fabric and the felt together, stuffed the stocking with a bit of craft stuffing, put in the loop to hang it from, and hand-stitched the top. They really make beautiful gifts.

You get 1 sheet of the stitch material, and 1 sheet of red felt with no inkling as to how to put them together. I was also missing 6 colors in the kit I received and have had to make do with what I have. Very disappointing.

I thought this was such a cute idea and ordered them right away. The instructions are the typical counted cross stitch and are easy to follow. The reason for the three star rating is because the instructions for putting them together doesn't make much sense and seems to cheapen them by instructing you to cut cardboard out and put it in the stocking with stuffing. I ended up sewing mine on my sewing machine to make little pillows.
