Was a tad disappointed when I received them, Thought they would be a little larger. More for a tag for which Tim does alot of demos with. Approx. inches Sunburst 3 x 1 3/4,dots 1 1/2 x 1 1/2, cicles 3 x 1, bricks 1x1, stars 1/2. They are perfect to take with you when you travel. Great quality rubber and mounted on a 3 ring thick plastic. I will use it for my mixed media collages as accent. My fault got excited looking at the stamps and didn't read BITTY but to me anything bought from Tim Holtz is never a waste : )

I've always been a fan of Stampers Anonymous stamps, especially the ones from Tim Holtz. I love the designs and each stamp set really has infinite possibilities. They are deeply etched, and fit into the Advantus Binder perfectly. The downside some people may have is that on the actual grey clingy part of the stamp there is no design to see what it is if it's laying rubber side down on a table or something. You can tell which designs are which when you put each stamp "home" behind the cover that you see above that the cling part sticks to.To me though, having no design on the grey clingy part doesn't bother me at all, as I always keep them in my Advantus binder. As with most other cling stamps, if it's not sticky enough anymore, just take a soft paper towel or old t-shirt or something that is damp with water and just swipe it across the cling part and allow it to dry for a minute or two. Also make sure your acrylic block is clean by doing the same thing.

These can create some very cool works of art and cards and just add accents to any artistic project. I love that. These are not individual stamps but simply the base rubber part of a stamp and are made to cling to Tim Holtz acrylic blocks. That has a plus side and a negative. First, it makes it very easy to keep these in a binder rather than a huge drawer of stamps. The minus is you do not see the image you are stamping as you would another rubber stamp, on the base--don't stamp it upside down! LOL

They are cool and artsy stamps and they stamp well. They really adds some pizazz in a cool way rather than a cheesy way--craftsy.

I will say that while I did not realize these were not actual full stamps upon ordering, I wound up loving how they work with the acrylic blocks because you can see exact placement of them on your piece. For example, I put the sunburst rays right above the head of someone and I was able to fit them perfectly around her head because the rubber is curved at the edge of the stamp so seeing them under the clear acrylic (that also has a guide on it to get it perfectly straight) makes it work great. Plus you save money because these naturally stick to the acrylic and you just keep peeling and reusing without having to buy a whole block stamp, just the rubber, and one set of the acrylic blocks.

Great with stays-on rubber stamp ink.

This is my go to stamp. I make altered cards. I use a mixed media method and this stamp set provides some of my favorite backgrounds. The designs are unique. It is a bit costly. But you get what you pay for. I use Stazon ink and ink remover. Also it has great cling to the acrylic block. Comes on it's own plastic notebook insertable note page. Makes it easy to store. I have a generic notebook and it fits. Overall a great product.

I was tired of using the hammer method for the eyelets, and I needed something to use on the 5/32" eyelets. There aren't many choices out there and most of them have poor reviews. This one is no different.

In the beginning it worked great.

After a while the eyelets started getting stuck in the tool.

Then the clamp was deforming the eyelets.

It still works great on the industrial strength eyelets, which are harder for me to find. But the nickel eyelets don't really stand a chance with this tool.

If you want to avoid the frustration of ruining your eyelets, and possibly what ever your eyelets are being attached to, dish out the money for a more expensive one that the reviewers can testify to working properly.

I knew this would be cheaply made so I wasn't disappointed in what I got. I needed it for one job and it worked for that but if you want to keep the tool around for future jobs you best invest in a little better one. The job requires a pretty hard squeeze on the handles to set the grommets and the handles are so flimsy that a hard squeeze bends them, especially after a number of uses. The package included no instructions so I had to experiment first to establish the best procedure to use. I used a small paper punch to first make the hole (the smaller the better, especially in fabric). I found that the pin on the pliers should be used on the side of the grommet that is to be flared. A hard squeeze is needed to really set the flared grommet down tight against the material. Then turn the pliers over and insert the pin in the unflared side and give another squeeze to smooth out the flared side of the grommet. It comes with 100 grommets and the pliers will never last that long so there is no need to order extra grommets. It works pretty well and if they had just used slightly thicker gauge metal to make the pliers they would have really had something. Maybe more money would buy stronger pliers?

I got what I paid for. I paid just under $6 including shipping (not directly from amazon). This came with the pliers and the eyelets. No washer pieces, so one side definitely looks "unfinished". I got this to make masks for my boy's super hero 8th birthday party. It came with NO DIRECTIONS. (Also the package was already opened inside the plastic envelope it came in. Luckily the eyelets were still in the plastic bag.) I had to watch a few different YouTube videos to figure out how to properly use it and practiced on a swatch before trying it on the masks.

I'd call these pliers cheap because there are no grooves for the eyelets to fit into. You have to hold it perfectly to get it done nicely. The flat part of the eyelet goes onto the flat side of the pliers. In some videos, it fits into the pointed part, but not these pliers. (Which i am guessing this is why it got more than a few bad reviews.)The pointed side crushes the pointed part of the eyelet. It makes sense as I'm writing this, but when you see the pliers, I did it the opposite way the first couple of times I practiced. The flat side is completely flat. It does not "fit" there, you must hold it in place.

After watching more than a few YouTube videos and knowing what I know now, I'd buy the tools where you use a rubber mallet. Just seams easier on the hands and easier to get a quality result. I'm just really glad that these pliers work and they are ok for the project I am making at the moment.

Just moved into a new house with a lot of blank walls. My husband and I made a bunch of 'art' with pre-stretched canvases, acrylic paint, painters tape, and stencils as placeholders although some of them we love so they may stick around.

I bought these stencils to make fun farm-related scenes for our kitchen.

The stencils are high quality and the designs are cute. I appreciated how most the designs are to the same scale so you could make a complex scene.

We made all the animals in crazy colors floating on clouds so we didn't exactly require realism...

I was desparate for a tool that would help me gouge away rotted composite decking from the screw heads on our deck! Our deck material had swelled and warped to the point that you could not see the screw heads that were holding the boards in place. I tried a mat knife but that was too dangerous; the blade threatened to snap each time. This tool NEVER gave up as I whacked away the warped decking around each screw head, positioning the punch at an good angle and hit it with a mallet. The gouge is still sharp, the whacking end still in great shape. It is an unorthodox use, to be sure but a great tool. I hope I never have to use it again, but then again maybe I will take up leatherworking! Ha!

I figured cheap brushes would be less accurate, or be made from lower quality materials. I didn't think the bristles would be falling out with every brush stroke and getting stuck in the paint. These are basically worthless because you have to pick out the bristles with each coat. Lesson learned.

I bought this product because it was compact and had all the tools in one place. I love working with them since I am new at making jewelry. The handles to the tools were just a little smaller than I expected. If you have large hands ( I am very petite so it does not bother me) you may want to consider getting the full size tools individually or in anotherk it if they sell them. Didn't realize these were small handled tools, which for my large hands makes them a little awkward.

Not as small as the mini sets, but not as large as other Bead Smith individual tools.

Other than than that, they are probably great great for use as a compact travel kit, but for everyday use for people with big hands, I would suggest full size tools.

The good:

I bought my first rapidograph pen after reading a glowing review on a blog, which compared the feel of drawing with one to that of biting into frosting -a small amount of initial resistance and then a smooth, effortless response. I was intrigued enough to buy a single 0.5mm pen, I'm glad I did: compared to other pens I've used (the most similar ones being micron and copic), a radidograph allows me to work more quickly and is more fun to use. After that first pen, I bought the set I've reviewing here, which I've been quite happy with, except for...

The bad:

Rapidograph pens require maintenance and they can be finicky. If you only use this kind of pen occasionally, or you plan on hauling your pens around all day, you may want to consider a different set. In my experience, a rapidograph pen that goes unused for more than a week can require cleaning, which takes a few minutes and can be messy. When I jostle a rapidograph pen a lot, either because I've left the cap off (which causes the ink at the tip to dry out) or because I've stuck it in my bag (which I've learned not to do) there are good odds that ink will leak out of the air channels in the nib. Leaks are annoying, messy, and they tend to continue until I clean the pen.

Other things to consider:

The fact that the pens can put out a lot of ink can be a good or a bad thing. It's nice to be able to lay down a bold line with a flick of the wrist, but some kinds of paper will soak up the ink, messing up lines if the nib stays in one place. Another thing I've noticed is that they don't seem to be good pens to use with colored ink. The approved colored inks aren't very saturated, and my only experiments with third-party ink ended badly when it dried in the nib of one pen. Finally, this particular set includes pens that have very wide diameters. I'm sure there are some people who'd find them useful, like people doing really large-format work, but I don't tend to use the two largest sizes at all.

To summarize, I strongly recommend these pens for people who (1) expect to use them frequently in a single location and (2) don't mind cleaning pens and the occasional leak. For people who want carrying-around pens or don't want to deal with pen maintenance, I'd suggest something else.

Rapidograph pens are some of the BEST pens you could possibly use, especially if you're frustrated with having to spend $5 on a new pen every week because the ink ran out or faded. They are also good for people who like nib pens but hate how tempermental they are in producing lines without releasing all of their ink in the same stroke. These pens can be put through hell and will not break, and are very easy to clean. The downside to them though, is that if you ever, EVER shake them, the ink well will build up pressure and cause the pen to leak. It will not affect the line in any way, but you will get ink all over you hands until you open the pen up and clean it out, which isn't a big deal at all. In the long run, these pens end up being cheaper than using, say... Microns... if you do a lot of inking, as you will pretty much never have to get a new pen, and just buy a new bottle of ink once a year or something. There's a LOT of ink in each bottle, which is great because it means it will take a lot of use before it's all used up. The ink itself is great because it is very dark and remains an even tone, and it dries really quickly, meaning that smudging never happens! There is also a fantastic range of thick to thin in this set, which makes both detailing and filling a hassle-free endeavor. I think that's pretty much everything.

Trust me, these are the best pens you will ever use. Ever.

I would have given this pen set 5 stars but for two problems. The case, which is very handy for storage and use of the pens, arrived broken at the hinge. This seems to a problem with design and shipping. Also I am going to have to send the .25 pen back to the manufacturer because the ink does not flow. A fellow artist is having the same problem with her .25 pen.

Innovation Marbling Kit, Japanese Suminagashi Reviews

I bought two of this kits when I visited Singapore in 1993! They were making demonstrations on a shopping mall. I have been stingy with my last set, trying to make it last longer, and now that I am running out my husband thought of looking it out in Amazon.

This watercolor marbling is a delight and you can get the most interesting designs. I ran out of the little paper dots early on, so I use an inverted spoon to slowly pour the ink over the water. You get the brightest colors on very absorbent paper: rice paper is classic, watercolor paper always works, but I also used newspaper paper successfully. I have marbled business cards and labels for jet printers. The worst paper to use is standard office paper, which is rather water repellent.

Learning how to marbleize paper is an easy technique to learn but to do it very well does take some practice, IMO. This is my 2nd order of these Japanese paints used for marbling. I have tried to use oil & watercolors but wasn't satisfied w/the outcomes. I was able to make several prints using my own acrylic colors & the effects were OK for a 1st user. The colors in this kit mix well alone or together. Some of the fun in using this technique is you control the colors to be made, the colors can be vivid or soft colors it depends on your preference.This set comes w/instructions that are easy to follow & reference to during the marbleizing process. I will try to post a couple of images so anyone who cares can view them.

I've spent several hours "playing" w/this lovely marbleizing method. Some of my prints weren't too exciting & a few where nice enough to use in my collage art. It takes a little while to set-up all the materials needed for this process but soon you will be having so much fun creating marbled papers;it is all worthwhile. Also, your creations are unique one-of-a-kind prints & that to me is the other fun part of marbleizing.

Although, I am adult artist & have found this entire process both child & adult friendly--as noted above. There seems to be something magical occurring while working w/these colors & the marbling process. BTW, I use various types of lightweight Japanese papers b/c they are usually archival & strong enough to withstand multiple moves while trying to position them properly & in an area where they will make the most impact overall.

Rarely do I like to write a negative. Let me start by saying--I watched the Blick video on this product and it looked so simple and easy. On the video the colors were strong and bright. Bought it. THEN I tried it.

NO luck. Used treated paper, distilled water. Nothing worked for me. I got faded out pieces that I was totally unhappy with. I have experimented with all types

of painting materials, inks, acrylics, oils, enamel----but no failures like this. So for me, this new experience in "marbling" was a huge disappointment.

I'll try other products to get the effect I thought the video was promising. For this kit--I suggest you not bother to waste your time or cash.

I've been using this product for over 20 years and have never had a single problem. You must follow the directions for it to work. Also do not use a metal plan. Plastic is preferable. Have had lovely designs always. Use your floaters and keep your water clean and you'll make some of the loveliest designs you've ever seen. I even use it in my classroom! Have fun and be creative!
