Boy, do I wish I had watched the user video more carefully before I bought this kit. To make things worse, I bought another shape of Fiskars "everywhere punch" before I learned that you need the starter kit to cut ANY shape. Now I am stuck with two of these miserable punches, which Fiskars will not allow me to return. Details: neither punch produces a usable shaped embellishment. They only produce HOLES of that shape, and only do a semi-accurate job of guiding you to the spot where you want the hole. If you want the hole close to the edge of your paper (or to another hole), the cut is raggedy and uneven and impossible to overlay to correct it with a second effort. And it does take effort--I have to stand to exert enough pressure for cuts. The three-pronged magnets poke a messy, lumpy trio of tears in your punched shape so you can't even cover the cut product with another paper shape or embellishment in order to use it. What a waste of paper! Plus you get "shavings" from these 3 holes all over your worktable and clothes. Crafters would be better off purchasing a hand-held punch or even using a pencil and exacto knife to get the holes where they want them. I have other Fiskars tools that I like, but they really need to dump this fiasco from their line and go back to the drawing board.

It would be better if this cartridge was packaged with a base unit so that you didn't need to also buy the "starter kit". This is clearly stated on the package, but it forces you to buy a punch shape you may not want and the total cost starts to creep up. This punch works very well for exactly what it is described as, to punch windows. I did two practice punches to get a feel for how it lines up and how much pressure was needed, and was all set to go. I agree with other reviewers that it would be very nice if you could reuse the chads, and it would be better if the packaging made it very clear that you can not. Also, the packaging was difficult to open without ruining the instructions on the back. Ultimately I ended up getting a box cutter and cutting around the plastic to removed the components in order to retain the instructions in tact.

The three holes in the center of the punched circle is a shame. And before you buy this product, you should stop and realize that your'e buying this product without the necessary parts to actually have this punch function. Why they sell it in seperate packages like this is a mystery.

First off, this is a refill. You have to buy the Fiskars Everywhere Punch Window System Starter Kit to use it. It doesn't look like the picture, with the blue base and the white alignment grid--those are part of the starter kit. This is only the top and bottom of the punch, useless without the base and magnetic grid.

Initially I thought the system sounded great. I need to punch out many paper items that are all the same size and this has the alignment grid to allow me to do it precisely and anywhere on the page.

I purchased the starter kit and this round refill together from (redacted) after seeing them in the store.

The directions are quite horrible and I had to figure out by trial and error how to put the thing together. It is solid and feels well-made as I would expect from this brand. However...it doesn't do what I need it to do, what any other brand of punch I've ever seen or used does. It doesn't punch out a neat square or circle of paper that you can then use in your project. It punches out a square or circle...with three holes in the center, put there by spikes embedded in the punch itself. So the waste part of your paper, the edge, is pristine, and the part you want to use, the image or whatever you needed cut into that shape, is destroyed. Great design.

I guess if all you want is a series of holes in a large sheet of paper, this is ideal. If you wish to use various precisely cut and sized shapes of loose paper, buy any other punch.

The bank is absolutely adorable. My 4 year old son was so excited to paint and place stickers on his bank and I love how I can put it on his dresser as a keepsake after he fills it (I wrote his age and the year he designed his car bank). True, it is not a huge bank but he was able to put about 100 coins in it, which is fine. I am planning on getting some more cars so that he can paint more and we can decorate his room with more of his "artwork". The quality of this was really impressive, considering other sets like this. My child really enjoyed painting this, and the paint quality even was good. The texture of the paint is glossy yet thick. The car itself is well molded and durable. My child drives it around and has even dropped it and there has not been any cracks or chips, even in the paint. It does not hold a lot, but my child has had it almost filled for awhile and there has been no issue. It is not ceramic.

I love these crochet hooks because they are so comfortable. However, as I read somewhere in another review, they are not all true to size. I bought the whole set, sizes C through K. I checked them with my Susan Bates "Knit-Chek", which has the holes you stick hooks or needles in to measure them. The C and D are true to size, but the E through K all are actually one size up from what they are marked meaning they measure as F through L. This means the Crochet Lite Crochet Hook doesn't come in a true size E at all. Just keep that in mind and be sure to check your guage! It's still a great product despite this little quirk. I've used them for a long time with no hand pain at all. The light come in handy too, and is bright enough that you can also use it to read your pattern by. But really, I've been crocheting in the dark at the drive-in movies for years. Think about it; if you have a simple repeat pattern do you REALLY need to look at your hands? But with these I won't have to turn on the light in the car or dig out a flashlight to figure out a goof or a tangle, and no more reading the patern by the light of the cell phone!

I recently taught myself to crochet, and, even though I'm only in my 30s, I found that, after just 1 1/2 to 2 hours of active crocheting, my hand would start to cramp up, making it very difficult to comfortably crochet. I decided to head out to my local manly craft store ( ;) ) to pick up a few of the "comfort" crochet hooks. Got there, looked at those, and noticed that, for whatever crazy reason, the store was discontinuing carrying The Crochet Lite, and had all of their sizes on clearance for half the price of retail. Looking at The Crochet Lite hooks, and comparing them to the comfort-style crochet hooks, The Crochet Lite won, hands-down. The handle on The Crochet Lite is made to be just as comfortable as that found on comfort crochet hooks, and the head of the hook looked to me to be pretty much the same length, but the head of The Crochet Lite illuminates! Now that's just COOL! HAD to have 'em!

I practiced restraint, and only bought about three of what the craft store had left in stock, took 'em home, and opened one up for a test run. Needless to say, it was instant love! I headed back out the very next day to buy all of the rest of The Crochet Lite hooks that they had in stock, and mailed the duplicates that I could force myself to part with, to crocheting friends and family as gifts. They loved them just as much as I do! After only being able to get a few of these locally, I had to have the rest of The Crochet Lite hooks that are available as others have said in their reviews and purchased more online. I also decided that, precious as they are to me, I wanted a pouch to protect them in, so I sewed one up that holds them just as I like.

Now that I've got each of the nine hooks in the collection The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size C 2.5mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size D 3.0mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size E 3.5mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size F 4.0mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size G 4.5mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size H 5.0mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size I 5.5mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size J 6.0mm, The Crochet Lite Crochet Hooks-Size K 6.5mm, Knit Lite Battery Replacement (same batteries are used for all hooks and needles) I am a happy crocheting camper. The only thing I'd like more than my ownership of the nine Crochet Lite hooks available? Ownership of more sizes of them! Looking at how they're made, and the clear acrylic of the heads, I can understand that Widget Products wouldn't be too keen to try to make smaller sizes in acrylic they'd probably have to opt for glass, or something much stronger that would undoubtedly bump up the price of these, especially considering how dainty the 2.5mm hook looks and feels (I have mine nested in the very center of my roll-up hook pouch, for fear of it breaking). For larger sizes, Widget Products would probably have to create a new, larger shaft for those heads, as opposed to using the same handle (albeit in different colors), as is currently used for all of the existing Crochet Lite hooks they make.

Regardless of whether or not Widget Products opts to make more sizes in The Crochet Lite, I am a very happy camper, and get much joy out of the comfortable handle, the bright LED light, and the variety of sizes of these great crochet hooks! SO the best hooks I own for my new addiction!

I got size E/3.5mm for Christmas and I was so excited because we get power outs a lot lately. The handle is amazingusually my hand cramps up, especially with the small hooks like E, but I never had any cramps for the very short period of time that I used this hook. It's very comfortable and I really love it.

However, the tip snapped right off while I was crocheting. I don't feel like I was being too rough with it, I was making a bunch of circles and it broke on my third, and I do not work tightly.

I am pretty disappointed that it only lasted 3 days. I imagine the larger sizes are fine, but steer clear of the small ones.

I love these hooks. We take a young handicapped boy to the movies each week and it is great to do the 'crotcheting' in the movies WITHOUT disturbing anyone else. Since I have had FOUR surgeries on my crocheting hand after having it Smashed in a Packaging machine for potato chips, I need a hook that is comfortable and easy to use. And, later, after skiing down a mountain and getting into an accident by missing a tree, I now have a metal rod in my arm and my shoulder is totally replaced, so the ability to rotate tiny hooks is challenging! This one HELPS the with therapy challenge, ALSO! So, I am now a Happy Hooker! ha-ha! Who thought one could ask for all that in ONE hook?!? I wish it would have been around when I was going through the hand surgeries. I was doing counted cross stitch because I could not manage a crochet hook. (A needle stays still and just pokes.) Not only are dark yarns not hard to crochet with these, but you can also crochet in bad lighting conditions. I like to crochet while my husband drives, but sometimes when we go places on the way back it is dark. Well that is a problem no longer. He got me four of these for Christmas, sizes F, H, I, & J, & I can't wait to get the other five!! G is an extremely hard size to find. Also, I tried ordering this from the Widget Product website, and after 5 weeks had to cancel my order, because they still had not shipped it. So if you try there, good luck!

Crocheters will be very happy with this product!! And they make great gifts for the Crocheters in your life!!

All of the cutting tools are dull. I couldn't cut a satin cord or a nylon cord without a great deal of effort. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I'm an art student, and I've been needing my own set of gouache for a while now. I never got any because they're so expensive (a small pack of 6 colors is $10, even at a discount store). But this set is an amazing value good-quality student paints at an unbeatable price. They arrived in the original packing (not the same packaging as in the picture, but same brand and product presumably a more recent design), sealed with plastic. All 24 tubes were there, and they're a decent size. The paint is smooth and was clearly stored well. The colors blend quite nicely. I look forward to using these for my work, and I can't wait to buy again when I run out!

Not much to say about this product. It's gouache. Its pigment is a bit weak compared to the more expensive counterpart, but if you're under a tight budget and/or need this for school, then this would be the perfect set for you.

Roughly $12 dollars for 24 tubes of Gouache, you have to consider why the price is so cheap at 50 cents per tube. The truth is, you get what you pay for.

I brought this set originally to due quick environment studies. The colors when coming out of the tubes looks pretty at first however, the truth happens after the gouache dries! The colors are very dull and lack a vibrance to them after it dries. It can be disappointing and discouraging when you feel you have mixed a beautiful color and it changes drastically when it dries. The texture to the gouache is a bit grainy and the colors do not apply evenly (Not good for washes). It's funny that they give you 24 colors but due to the low quality pigmentation, mixing them doesn't give you more colors as you think you would.

Keep in mind though, for the price, it's as good as it gets.

I would not recommend this set. It's a waste of your time and water/gouache paper.

I personally would recommend Winsor Newton's Gouache introductory set. It may seem a bit much but the texture is very smooth and a little bit goes a long way. If you start with the introductory set, there's only 6 tubes, but they mix very well into a great range of colors as they are highly pigmented.

Bottom line: You get what you pay for. Paints in general are about pigments.

I recently started using this product professionally (having switched from marker) and it achieves the desired effect: brilliant, even, opaque, matte color. It is also easy to lay down and to mix colors. The price of high end gouache always put me off at $10/tube. This is not only a bargain, it's an absolute steal at this price if you want a wide variety of colors. Michaels sells a 16 12 ml.tube set for $14.99.

I was very impressed when i first took this item out of the packaging. It consisted of exactly what it stated and it was very user friendly. Everything was individually packaged which makes it easy to identify every accessory.I was still a bit bemused at the stencil, what is that for? I would be using this kit for nail airbrushing i can't use that stencil for that purpose. But nevertheless it is a great kit.

I bought them as an ADD ON item, for the price, I can't complain. They are OK for a few uses only. The paint flows good onto the canvas for a few uses. They aren't going to last the long haul. {I wash and condition all my brushes with Master Brush Cleaner.} If you need a few throw-down brushes or craft projects, these will suffice. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate buying more for those uses.

Not terribly impressed. I bought these with the hope of "repairing" a bleach stain on a favorite pair of pants. None of the colors are an exact match so I trimmed pieces off of the dark green and brown to create the hunter green I needed. It takes some effort to mush the pieces together but eventually they blend. Problem is that even after applying heat as instructed, the color is not holding well to the fabric.

As an amateur astronomer (read: stargazer) observing through cheaper equipment, I sketch at a very small scale due to field of view and magnification limitations. This requires something more precise than regular soft pastels in order to render what I see at the eyepiece.

I have already made a couple of new moon sketches, and these hard pastels in gray tones have made a definite improvement in my sketches.

For most beginner quilters this is an old stand by staple and all you will ever need. But, if you intend to do alot of cutting look into the ergonomic one that is also offered by Olfa. Some people don't like the fact that you have to remember to close the safety on this one by I found that getting in the habit is better than counting on something mechanical to remember.

A must have for the initial quilter.

In addition to cutting fabric, I also use this rotary to cut paper and to trim photographs. I did not notice any significant dulling of the blade from this use. It makes a perfect clean cut. This is one of the most used tools in my toolbox!

I noticed that the price on the on this product fluctuates. There is a nice online tool that I use to help catch a good price on Amazon, this tool is called "Online Price Alert". This tool will send you an email when the Amazon item price reaches the target price range that you specify. If you search on "online price alert" in Google it will be come up at the top. I find this tool to be very helpful.

I'm a beginning sewer and my cutting skills are still in the meh category. I was making some hourglass pillows and decided a rotary cutter would give me better straight lines and angles. So I got the Olfa 45mm and it's made cutting a lot easier and it's so much faster. I hope to use it in many other sewing projects and would recommend it for its ease of use and precise cutting. I was even able to cut through layers of duck cloth so it can handle multiple layers of fabric at once.

I had a different type of rotary cutter and it was fine. I didn't realize, though, until I got this one what a difference the handle and cover can make. I can actually cut both ways now (front and backwards) if I need to sewer wise though not really recommended but when in a pinch you do what you need to do. I also like that you can turn this from either side to cut but works best with the blade next to the ruler.
