It's hard to find tunisian hooks in smaller sizes; everyone seems to want to work only with bulky or at least worsted weight yarns. Well, some of us like much finer yarn--even sock yarn! This is a set for us. I like the thought of making a jacket in Tunisian stitch from lovely strips of rose-colored linen, or crocheting some other piece for my wardrobe, or my family's wardrobe in a lighter, finer yarn, because it drapes better than the heavier yarns, yet still has the speed of crochet rather than going into knitting which to me is slower (even though it has far more stitches to choose from). Besides, I'm in love with Tunisian stitch and want to use it!

Review of 11Pcs 2-8mm 10.6" Multicolour Aluminum TUNISIAN/AFGHAN Crochet Hook
About 5 of these hooks were very sticky on the hook end. I had to thoroughly clean the goo off before I could use them. I've only used 4 of them so far, but one of them had a burr on it. It kept snagging my yarn, so I had to switch to another one for my project. I'm going to have to file or sand it before I use it again.

Royal & Langnickel Paint Your Own Masterpiece Painting Set, Cafe Reviews
Want to paint but don't know how to begin? The company that puts out these products, Famous Art Kits, offers a unique instructive opportunity. The canvases they send are of well-known masterpieces, such as Van Gogh's Sunflowers, Klimt's The Kiss, with only a pre-printed minimal of outlines. Each is "inspired by the paintings" and comes with a booklet discussing what colors go where, and which to paint first. Acrylic paints and brush are included. These kits are "not an exact copy, but as a beautiful and personal tribute to the great artist". .
This whole thing is just scrubbing and scraping really thin cheap paint over a shadow of an image, so you can see through the paint, and see the weird little picture under it. This is supposed to look good? Seriously, just buy a paint by number, they look fantastic compared to this!

I can't believe I wasted 10 minuets of my life with this ridiculous thing! It seemed like a nice little to project to relax with at the end of the day. This was the most irritating "masterpiece" ever! First of all, the directions are a mess in the little pamphlet, I didn't know where to begin. It makes is seem like a clear coat goes down first because they refer to the paint as "color glaze"... it's just super cheap, thin, sort-of acrylic paint. It instructs you to gently SCRUB the color into the AREAS of the gray scale canvas. What? Reviews of Jon Gnagy Original Learn to Draw Set
Jon Gnagy's TV show was the first show ever broadcast. I watched it as a child in the fifties. He taught art, real art, not painting a variation of the same thing over and over, in ten minutes. At five, I started looking at the book from my brother's kit and learned a lot from the self-explanatory illustrations. Without being able to read, it taught me such basics as perspective, shading and depth. Later, when I could read, I learned even more from it. After a career as an artist, which has spanned almost fifty years, I can honestly say he had more effect on me than any teacher I ever had. I highly recommend this for any upstart.

I started learning to draw with a Jon Gnaggy Learn To Draw Kit 60 years ago. I loved it so remember it well. I bought this and other kits like it, for my grand children. One granddaughter told me she "wants to be an artist" so I sent this kit to her after she was in the hospital, as a get well gift. I hear she likes it. Her mother said, "The package came, and I didn't see it after that. But she said she likes it." She later called me to thank me for it and said she really likes it. The copic markers I purchased at Amazon.com were wonderful and well priced. They have deep, rich colors and I like the plastic container they come in. This was a very good price and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. This purchase makes me want more of the copic color sets Amazon.com offers for my card making craft. You do have to make sure you have the right paper to use or they will bleed. I am using Georgia Pacific Card Stock paper and it works fine and is inexpensive. Not terribly impressed. I bought these with the hope of "repairing" a bleach stain on a favorite pair of pants. None of the colors are an exact match so I trimmed pieces off of the dark green and brown to create the hunter green I needed. It takes some effort to mush the pieces together but eventually they blend. Problem is that even after applying heat as instructed, the color is not holding well to the fabric.

I had been making totes using my own ideas, no patterns. Saw the templates on a Sewing with Nancy show and succumbed to how easy they made it look. It is NOT. There are very many steps and the instructions are quite complex, easy to miss a simple but necessary step. I even read through the entire instructions (which include steps to make 6 different totes) before I started and still missed things. Maybe I was tired or not at my best, and I will try again. But I was quite overwhelmed.
She has material purchase sizes on the instruction sheet, but all the other things needed are on the packaging cardboard. Needless to say, they are all her products and the cost of the tote goes WAY up. There are work-arounds and other sources and it is important to have everything together before you get to the place where they are needed. I had to wait for some items I ordered from Amazon (fortunately Prime, so only 2 days). I was able to skip ahead to some other steps while waiting.
If you are not a detail-oriented person, don't even attempt this. If you like a challenge, the tote came out really nice and my granddaughter loved it. This review would also apply to the other Clover Trace & Create Bag templates.
On the good side, I did learn some techniques that I would not have without the templates.

The directions were written in such an annoying format (and small type). Some pointers seemed to be missing. For example, how really to attach the flap. I kept looking on line for a Nancy video someplace that might have helped, but it seems to exist as a PBS show but nowhere could I access it.Also, Nancy often is suggesting the use of her products, when she might give some alternative that could work as well.

Metal Black Quill and Ink Italian Writing Set Reviews
Hello! First off, I bought this exact quill and ink set at Barns and Noble months ago for about $20. Seriously please read this, don't pay an extra $20 dollars plus shipping, it's not worth quite that much. As for the quill itself, it has a very nice weight and while it writes it gets somewhat splochy sometimes; a decrotive hand shape is not the best design for writing. Luckily the nib is removeable and with a good one, it is easily my favorite quill. The ink works well, but Aladine ink is darker and bleeds less. I absolutley love the metalwork though! You can't really see it well in this picture but it's a sort of vine design. Overall I would reccomend this, especially if you have other nibs. Not quite worth $40 though.

I have nothing bad to say regarding the shipper. I got the product in the time frame I was given. I am however disappointed on how hard it is to cut cardstock with these dies. I really had high hopes that this would be much easier than it is. The first 4-5 attempts I simply embossed the cardstock instead of cutting it. Probably won't buy anymore of these times of dies.
