It's hard to find tunisian hooks in smaller sizes; everyone seems to want to work only with bulky or at least worsted weight yarns. Well, some of us like much finer yarn--even sock yarn! This is a set for us. I like the thought of making a jacket in Tunisian stitch from lovely strips of rose-colored linen, or crocheting some other piece for my wardrobe, or my family's wardrobe in a lighter, finer yarn, because it drapes better than the heavier yarns, yet still has the speed of crochet rather than going into knitting which to me is slower (even though it has far more stitches to choose from). Besides, I'm in love with Tunisian stitch and want to use it!

Review of 11Pcs 2-8mm 10.6" Multicolour Aluminum TUNISIAN/AFGHAN Crochet Hook
About 5 of these hooks were very sticky on the hook end. I had to thoroughly clean the goo off before I could use them. I've only used 4 of them so far, but one of them had a burr on it. It kept snagging my yarn, so I had to switch to another one for my project. I'm going to have to file or sand it before I use it again.

these pens are awesome, actually these are a second set because i ran out of the first set of ten that i hadI've purchased several different types of the Sakura pens and my daughter enjoys all of them. They each have different characteristics (some have flat textures, others sparkle, others are metallic, etc.). She uses them all in her craft projects, drawings, letters, etc. They've lasted a long time, and none of them have dried out or skipped. Great pens!

These were purchased as a gift for my daughter who is the artist in the family. She had been begging for them for some time, and I now see why.
I was initially skeptical as I thought that "pencils are pencils". Upon receiving them however, my daughter was quick to draw me a picture with them. The difference between this and the drawing with "normal" colored pencils was dramatic. The colors were sharper, the lines smoother, and they didn't have any of the raggedness that the normal pencils left on the page.
In addition, these last longer. The "lead" holds it's point longer, and they just feel like better quality than what you can get at a big box store.
It would be nice if they weren't quite so expensive, but as I said in the title you do get what you pay for.
I would recommend these to anyone who draws or (like me) has an artist in the family.
My set only had 59 pencils—missing "Orchid"—but it wasn't too much of a loss, as it would've just been another light purple. The packaging leaves much to be desired, though, as it's supposed to be able to prop up for easy access to the front & back rows, but the plastic edge is slippery and won't stand on its own—not unless you want to risk it falling over unexpectedly and damaging the pencils. All in all, I like them, and they were much cheaper online, which is a huge plus. They're a good sampling set to figure out which colors you actually use, so when upgrading to Premier, you can invest in singular pencils and not waste money on a full set.

The pencils are good, creamy and bright, with decent color selection (having two each of white & black is great), though I would have preferred a greater range of darker purples instead of, like, five light ones and a ruddy violet; a true indigo (blue-purple) and a medium purple would've been nice. I say "true indigo" because there *is* a pencil called "Indigo," but it's really only a dark blue, no purple involved. Premier is better in consistency and brilliancy, but these are a good stand-in for those who can't afford them, and Scholar is so so much better than Crayola & Artist's Loft (would not recommend Artist's Loft to a child—if you really want cheap colored pencils, go for Crayola), which is what I'd been stuck with before. My set only had 59 pencils—missing "Orchid"—but it wasn't too much of a loss, as it would've just been another light purple. The color options are great. The pencils just leave a waxy finish which would be fine if I wasn't rendering things for clients now that I'm done with school. Just save your money and buy the actual Prismacolor Pencils first than you won't have to buy them later.Honest reviews on Prismacolor Scholar Pencil 60 Color Set
This is for my son for Christmas. He has done a lot of research and these were his pencils of choice. However, as mentioned in other reviews, the packaging of these "expensive" pencils is absolutely terrible. My pencils were not contained at all in the flimsy plastic case the manufacturer uses as shown in the picture. Instead, they're rolling all around inside the box that Amazon uses for packaging. I don't feel this is an Amazon issue, the problem rest with the manufacturer. Can't believe they sell this product in such a lackluster package. Good golly if Crayola can figure it out with their cheap products, surely the manufacturer of a higher end product could come up with something better than this. Here's hoping the lead inside the pencils are not damaged.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Prismacolor Scholar Pencil 60 Color Set
Received the product very quickly but it was very poorly packaged. It was an order fulfilled by amazon and it probably was the worst packaging I have ever received from them. All the pencils were out of the flimsy plastic case, rattling in the box with three air pillows for company. One pencil had the point broken. You'll probably think "gee, one out of sixty" but it won't be until my niece uses the pencils that we'll be able to tell if there's internal damage. I have not tested for quality of pigmentation or any other coloring feature but I don't expect any issue. The cost was very reasonable, but we'll see.Wednesday, December 3, 2014

These (and all others like it as I have many) are so easy and simple to use I wondered why I used other dies first.
When I first purchased these items I also wondered how to use them on my Sizzix machine as I do not own the one which these were created for. I went to the Spellbinders website and saw they have some videos which show how to use their dies on multiple systems. The video is showing how easy it is, and easy is nice.
Do not be discouraged by [revious reviewer. These really are simple and easy to use. They are indeed packaged so as not to shift in shipping but that is easily rectified for storage later. If you do not purchase the carrying case to put these in you can simply put them in Ziploc bags and file in a folder. You can put a sample of the die on the outside of the folder for easy locating later if needed.
I recommend these dies as they are versatile and easy to use. If you do not know how to use on your system, go to the Stampabilities website and view their videos showing how to use, or call their number to talk with customer service, as I had done this once as well. I have a Sizzix machine but I use these dies on it.
They DO NOT EMBOSS however until you buy an embossing pad. Again no instructions so you have to figure this out on your own.
Then there is storage. You need to keep them organized (there are over 100 dies, over 20 in each 4 count pack) but all that is provided is double faced tape to hold them down on cardboard. A temporary solution at best. The tape eventually wears out but in some cases the individual Nestability can be bent due to the force needed to get it off the tape the first time.
Overall the product seem to be in its infancy and needs some improvements to instructions, long term storage and possibly initial packaging. But I am willing to pioneer on!

Review of Fiskars 01-001049 Eyelet Punch Setter
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $13.00
Sale Price: $11.79

I got this primarily to punch holes in projects with because it could be used anywhere on a piece of paper.
It's probably one of the most used tools in my paper craft collection now. Inside the spring are two rods, one on each end. When you set the hole or the eyelet holding one end in place on the project you're working on, you pull up the other end and just let it drop. That causes the rods to hit each other and either punches the hole or sets the eyelet.
I do expect quality from Fiskars, but the simple design of this tool and how well it works impresses me. I've used the punch on 3mm laminate, on rubber (bicycle tire inner tubes) and of course on paper and card stock. It punches a nice clean hole almost every time. On laminate sometimes I need to trim part of the hole.
I never much used the eyelet end, but working with the recycled tire inner tubes sometimes I want to set an eyelet. I decided to try this out. It works so much nicer than the hammer/eyelet setter I was using. I can set the eyelet in place, hold the eyelet setter on it, and use my other hand to pull up the top of this. It's easy enough to get the setting perfectly centered without feeling like I need a 3rd hand for a hammer. Even with the heavier eyelets I use for the rubber (I use the sort used in leather crafting) it splits the eyelet neatly and sets it in place.
Update as of Jan. 30, 2012: The tip of this tool eventually got dull, and I now just use a normal metal old-school style hole punch that has a special small 1/8" tip, so it creates the same size hole as the fiskars tool...

came quickly, well packaged, works great-punches really nice holes in my machine embroidery projects. Be sure to put something sturdy underneath-it can damage the surface if you don't.Honest reviews on Fiskars 01-001049 Eyelet Punch Setter
While I love the ease of use of this tool, the cutting tip has lost its edge (pun intended). The tool does not come with a cutting mat, so I merely have used a piece of metal as the base. The tip has gotten very dull, and I have to now buy a new cutting tool, while the setting end is just fine. It's so easy to use that I can watch TV and passively punch holes into 300 gram paper, which are my product's hangtags. I use a straight pin to clear the cutting tool, which will get clogged with paper every 10+ punches.Update as of Jan. 30, 2012: The tip of this tool eventually got dull, and I now just use a normal metal old-school style hole punch that has a special small 1/8" tip, so it creates the same size hole as the fiskars tool...

We have two sons and wanted to have a hand print from both of them on the stone. However, the spot is not large enough for two hands. My sons are aged 3 and 1. So plan on fitting only one hand. Also, the hand print from my three-year-old took up the space so there was limited room to write his name. We had to settle for initials only. I ended up purchasing more cement at a local craft store and made another stone for my other son.
We should have measured better before purchasing.

This is the second year in a row I have purchased this stepping stone kit for Father's Day gifts. Our twins turned two and having their hand prints in the garden is wonderful. I will agree that the space to imprint is small, but you can still fit a single hand-print (I ordered two, one per kid). I was able to fit each of their names and the year in the cement along with a single hand print (as shown on the kit packaging). I'm sure next year I will have to find something with a larger space, or improvise with the text, but otherwise it's a cute keepsake. I had no issues with cracking or breaking.Honest reviews on Midwest Products Kids Garden Handprint Stepping Stone Kit
We bought this kit to make with our 22mo old grandchild after a disastrous first attempt with a regular stepping stone kit. We found it much easier to use with him because most of the stone was already dry and he wasn't able to push his hand down too far into it like he did with the other kit. The interior area is very small though. We were only able to do his handprint with his initials and the year crammed into the tiny spaces left around it instead of his whole 7 letter name. No real room left for things like colored pebbles either. We also did one with his footprint and had to do it diagonally because it was too tight vertically. Still a nice kit for small children or pets though.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Midwest Products Kids Garden Handprint Stepping Stone Kit
Kit was easy to use, stone came out good, just a little on the small size my 2 year olds hand took up most of the space, so not really good for older kids I would thinkSaturday, September 20, 2014
Cheap Ultra-Mini Set of 2 Easels w/ 2 Canvases 3x3" - Black
I found a couple tiny easels similar to this at WalMart but I wanted a bunch of them to make Christmas ornaments for family gifts. I found plenty in stock and was able to order five packages, total of 10 easels. These are actually nicer than the ones I found, the easels are painted nicely (doesn't look cheap or crummy) and the canvas is slightly bigger exactly 3x3". I used a gel medium photo transfer technique and made adorable gifts for my family and they are perfect.
Also, they arrived in two days. TWO DAYS. And I did not pay for rushed shipping. Fantastic seller, I couldn't be happer!

Stabilo Woody Crayons Set of 10 W/sharpener Reviews
I bought these woodies after taking an encaustic class and seeing how well they work with the wax. Love them.
They are quite thick pencils (5/8 inch diameter) with a smooth, creamy consistency to the "lead" -almost more oil pastel feeling.
Ours are still of quite a useable length after several years of light use. I just ordered a few more because we'd lost/used up some necessary colors (red and black.) I love these things, maybe even more than my kids do. They like Lyra Color-Giants thick colored pencils the best.
I am very happy with them.

Discount Xyron Creatopia Cutz Blades, Package of 2, Straight

List Price: $14.99

You can cut any size paper with the straight cutz blades! If you want to cut several strips say 8 of them at 1" at the same time then you will need to purchase more of the straight blades but you get 2 blades to the package and the cost is $14.95 for 2. Just snap the blades onto the Cutz accessory and it is all set to go. I could have used the Creatopia Cutz accessory to make ornaments to put on my tree but my husband helped me and we cut the 1" strips the hard way with a paper cutter which was very time consuming and we had to measure every 1" but with the Creatopia Cutz you can set the blades at 1" intervals and cut the strips all at once! I'm only using 1" as an example, you can choose your own size to cut. I have some of the other cutz blades which just blow me away! If you make cards or do scrapbooking there are so many possibilites of what you can do with the Creatopia Cutz. The Perforation and Scoring blades are a must for me as I do make my own cards. I plan to purchase all the different Cutz blades as they become available. I love the Xyron Creatopia, it is pricey when you have to buy the Cutz, Border Pattern accessories and soon the Shapez one when it becomes available. I would look for the bundle price as it should be more cost effective. It is so easy to use with endless possiblities! Uses no electricity and can be setup anyplace you need to use it. Xyron has "invented" a wonderful product to make scrapbooking and card making very fun and enjoyable to use! I'm so happy I have a Creatopia!

Best Watercolor Brush Pen Set of 8 Pens Deals
When I first uncapped the pen, the brush started losing hairs, then as I started inking, the tips separated and made it difficult to make a smooth line. This set might be good for toddlers or preschoolers, but anyone else will be frustrated by the low quality brush tip.

I would not recommend these to a traditional watercolorist as they are hard to keep a consistent ink flow... sometimes dry, sometimes dripping. Another drawback is that if they are not stored gently they WILL leak!!! And the ink is a mess once it leaks. HOWEVER, for certain usages, such as my personal work, these are GREAT for solid color application on paper and do a great job of laying flat without stroke marks. For me they simply happen to be one of those products that are a bit fickle and can anger you once in a while but are PERFECT for how I use them.Best Deals for Watercolor Brush Pen Set of 8 Pens
These are good for a base wash and covering large areas, but they are inconsistent in flow. I've gotten good at using the black for sketching, which gives a neat look. Colors are very strong and vivid, I've had some success in adding water with another brush to dilute them a bit and make them less opaque when needed. I haven't had leaking problems like it seems a lot of people do, but I leave them at my desk. I'll replace them when they run out, they are good for what I use them for, but defiantly not watercolor.
