I recently ordered one of these for my mother after seeing the same item on the Singer website for twice the price. We were a bit skeptical because the one on Amazon says it's by "Goldstar", but we decided to try it first and send it back if she wasn't happy. She loves it. It even came in packaging that said "Singer" and no mention of "goldstar". She was so happy with it that she wanted me to order her sister one (only a day or two after she recieved her first one). Easy enough on Amazon with a few clicks and it was done. When she recieved the second one it was in different packaging and the unit itself wasn't the same quality as the first one. Much of the metal was thinner, the foot plate was more narrow and it had more plastic parts...even though it actually had "singer" on the plastic housing (the first one we recieved didn't have any thing on the housing). SO, I began checking my order history and found that the first unit (the better one) shipped from "World Weidner" and the second one (the lesser one) shipped from "Metropalitans Warehouse". I also found that when placing the item in my shopping cart, I could have selected either vendor, I just simply didn't pay it any attention and went with the default vendor at the time. In all fairness, both units fit and work fine. But they are obviously different and one looks like it will last longer and hold up to heavier use. The part numbers on both units are exactly the same, so it could just be that the two vendors have units from different production runs. Just something to consider.

BTW this unit also fits a Singer model 5511, that isn't listed in the models on the amazon site.

After reading scads of books on quilting and machine quilting, I broke down and bought a walking foot for my very inexpensive Singer Simple machine. This food is not made by Singer, but is high quality none the less. It made machine quilting so much easier than I ever thought possible. The material, including the batting, cruised under the foot like a dream. I have left it on the machine for small sewing projects as well and have found it makes thicker material easier to sew. I highly recommend this item for every machine!

I bought this for my older Singer sewing machine, model 1120, which is about 10 years old and one of the entry-level machines that were available at my local discount store, i.e. not a fancy or complicated machine. I originally bought this foot to practice straight-line quilting, but I have yet to have time to use it for that. However, I have used it to hem fleece pants and it worked so much better than the basic presser foot--it prevented the frustrating gathering and puckering that I had experienced in the past. My walking foot did come with a little sheet of instructions that showed how to install it, which was still a little tricky, but once you figure it out, you'll be able to install and remove it easily. The only problem I had, although this has more to do with my machine than the walking foot, was that my pressure foot lever only has one position--it does not raise up very high off the feeder dogs. The walking foot seems to sit a bit lower--leaving less clearance between the foot and the feeder dogs--than the presser foot, so I really had to flatten and sort of angle-in/wedge the fleece to get it under the walking foot, however, once the fabric was in place, the walking foot worked really, really well. I was hemming fleece pajama bottoms that were pretty thick (probably close to the thickness of 2 layers of cotton and quilting batting) and the hems came out straight without any puckering. If your machine has a multi-level presser foot, you should have plenty of clearance for your fabric with this foot. Very happy with the added capabilities this gives my old machine.

I ordered this from Metropolitans Warehouse. The foot arrived in a timely manner and works great on My Singer® Confidence 7463. I feel I should point out that it is not a genuine Singer® part, which I don't think is clear from the description.

This walking foot was exactly what I was looking for to fit my Singer Stylist 7258. As mentioned in previous reviews, the foot does not come with instructions on how to attach. I was quickly able to figure it out on my own. I've only been using the foot for 3 weeks, but has held up well, so far.

I bought this because I love that Stainless Steel is rustproof and tarnish proof but for the price I wasn't expecting much. I was delighted that they are a good size and thickness and come in a good variety of sizes and cut out shapes. This cost me around $20 but I could sell 2 rings for that price easily, so this was a no-brainer for me. I would recommend this to anybody looking to resell or add to your own collection, or both as I did.

This is a terrific little tool set with its own zippered case. The jewelry pliers are a nice surprise, too, as they are a bit longer than another set I had. These 4 tools (Chain Nose Pliers with Cutter, Round Nose [jewelry] Plier, Flat Nose Plier, Side Cutter) are nicely made & easy to handle. There is also room in the case to add a couple of other tools (I carry my memory wire cutter in this case also). Very happy with this purchase!

These tools are inexpensive and work well for what they are. The cutters are sharp so far and the plier ends meet evenly when closed. No complaints.

The four pliers are with little rusty. The whole box is a little dirty looks like it just come from factory dirty warehouse. It let me feel not very good. They can be cleaned by normal paper or a wash cloth. Anyway, the four pliers can work well so far. So I give 3 stars for pliers. Before delivery, it'd better to clean the whole package with pliers. If it is clean, I would rate 5 star.

Boy, do I wish I had watched the user video more carefully before I bought this punch. I bought another shape of Fiskars "everywhere punch" before I learned that you need the starter kit to cut ANY shape. Now I am stuck with two of these miserable punches, which Fiskars will not allow me to return. Details: neither punch produces a usable shaped embellishment. They only produce HOLES of that shape, and only do a semi-accurate job of guiding you to the spot where you want the hole. If you want the hole close to the edge of your paper (or to another hole), the cut ends up raggedy and uneven and impossible to overlay to correct it with a second effort. And it does take effort--I have to stand to get enough pressure to punch it all the way through. The three-pronged magnets poke a messy, lumpy trio of tears in your punched shape so you can't even cover the cutout piece with another paper shape or embellishment in order to use it. What a waste of paper! Plus you get "shavings" from these 3 holes all over your worktable and clothes. Crafters would be better off purchasing a hand-held punch or even using a pencil and exacto knife to get the holes where they want them. I have other Fiskars tools that I like, but they really need to dump this fiasco from their line and go back to the drawing board.

It would be better if this cartridge was packaged with a base unit so that you didn't need to also buy the "starter kit". This is clearly stated on the package, but it forces you to buy a punch shape you may not want and the total cost starts to creep up. This punch works very well for exactly what it is described as, to punch windows. I did two practice punches to get a feel for how it lines up and how much pressure was needed, and was all set to go. I agree with other reviewers that it would be very nice if you could reuse the chads, and it would be better if the packaging made it very clear that you can not. Also, the packaging was difficult to open without ruining the instructions on the back. Ultimately I ended up getting a box cutter and cutting around the plastic to removed the components in order to retain the instructions in tact.

Keep in mind you have to have the starter kit as this is not a stand alone piece. As I reviewed on the starter kit, it took a bit to figure out the pieces and process, but once I did this product is durable. If you have strength issues, this tool may not be for you as it takes a bit of strength to push the top piece thru to the paper. The shapes are a great idea thou, and I did like you can punch these shapes out anywhere on the paper.

I have used this punch and the starter set for one scrapbook a trip to Hawaii. I plan to use it again for the Washington DC book I plan to create. It is very easy to work and having the ability to make patterns anywhere on the paper vs just on the sides is a great benefit. I just wish that the piece that was punched out could be used.

Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen Sanguine Wallet 167102 - 4 Assorted Review

The ink color of these pens is truly _beautiful_. I wanted a rich sanguine color similar to what's found in many Renaissance drawings/sketches. Because it is neither too light nor too dark, the color works well with many types of drawings. I had excellent results with still life, figure drawing (both gestures & renderings), and landscape. It's particularly great for studies and helps make them a lot more fun. My warm gray big brush set (same brand) also complemented them very well.

The ink dries quickly, and is extremely waterproof. I was able to place watercolor washes without issue. The tip variety is good, but for filling big areas a big brush would be better. The S, F, and M nibs are similar to the 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 nibs of other brands. The brush tip has good variety, from _very_ fine up to 2 or 3 mm. The brush tip can be pulled out and flipped around if/when it gets worn down.

The downside is that they are disposable. They seem to last a pretty long time, but I still wish they used refills or cartridges. I'd be even happier if they sold bottled ink...

Regardless, this is the best you can do for sanguine ink drawings, AFAIK -intriguing color, archival, great lightfastness, waterproof, etc.

Love Pitt pens. They are great. This color is excellent also. The only improvement would be if they lasted longer but they do have a decent useful life.

I started the hobby of drawing Zentangles, basically doodle art. I wanted to combine my sketches with watercolor paint, but discovered that the fountain pen ink I had been using ran when I applied water to it. After some research, I discovered that these Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens were waterproof, fade proof and came in a wide assortment of colors and sizes. The lines made by these pens are very smooth and clean on the watercolor paper that I use in my art journal and I like that I can get a set of these in this wonderful Sanguine red color in several different widths.

I use these mainly when I am creating self-tutorials of my various zentangle patterns, alternating the red and black pens to show the various steps of the pattern. I have also used them to add color to my tangles. All in all, excellent pens. I like them much better than the Sakura Microns.

When I bought these I was under the impression that they were red. They are not really red, but more of a burnt orange color. The pens themselves are great, just not the color I was hoping for.

We have two sons and wanted to have a hand print from both of them on the stone. However, the spot is not large enough for two hands. My sons are aged 3 and 1. So plan on fitting only one hand. Also, the hand print from my three-year-old took up the space so there was limited room to write his name. We had to settle for initials only. I ended up purchasing more cement at a local craft store and made another stone for my other son.

We should have measured better before purchasing.

This is the second year in a row I have purchased this stepping stone kit for Father's Day gifts. Our twins turned two and having their hand prints in the garden is wonderful. I will agree that the space to imprint is small, but you can still fit a single hand-print (I ordered two, one per kid). I was able to fit each of their names and the year in the cement along with a single hand print (as shown on the kit packaging). I'm sure next year I will have to find something with a larger space, or improvise with the text, but otherwise it's a cute keepsake. I had no issues with cracking or breaking.

We bought this kit to make with our 22mo old grandchild after a disastrous first attempt with a regular stepping stone kit. We found it much easier to use with him because most of the stone was already dry and he wasn't able to push his hand down too far into it like he did with the other kit. The interior area is very small though. We were only able to do his handprint with his initials and the year crammed into the tiny spaces left around it instead of his whole 7 letter name. No real room left for things like colored pebbles either. We also did one with his footprint and had to do it diagonally because it was too tight vertically. Still a nice kit for small children or pets though.

Had bought these to help my son make a science project, but could not because when you get the stencils, you have to "pop" out the letters inserts to make the stencils. They are precut so all u have to do is use a finger to push them out.....but not all of them were cut all the way through, and I end up having to cut them out myself. Not a good product at all.

Stencils were thin and flimsy, but they worked well for my purpose. They came in two sizes small and large ABC's and there were also lots of shapes ie. hearts, stars, asterics, triangles, circles, etc.

You simply cannot make this type of quilt without these acrylic templates; but not only do you need these, you have to maintain PERFECT 1/4" seams or your quilt will NOT lay flat, it will be lumpy. I advise using the CurveMaster foot which almost forces you to keep those 1/4" seams. This quilt is not for the faint of heart, you will need to go slowly and carefully, however, once you get the finished product you will be very proud of yourself. I ended up drawing every sewing line on each piece with either a chalk pencil or disappearing ink. There are several options for the Dahlia's "center" and I would recommend not selecting the option that is all points to the very center, you get a lot of bulk doing this. Advise you to use neutral color thread or matching thread, too. So, once you've done your very best and its not as perfect as you like, just remember, after you quilt it and wash it, those small imperfections won't matter so much. But if your aim is a perfectly flat wall hanging, good luck!

I am not a pro. This was my first attempt at shirt printing. From my experience heat sublimation does not work. Silk screening works but transfer paper transfers just fall apart after you wash them. If you are planning on having a business learn how to silk screen. For something you are gonna wear one time go for it! The machine was o.k.. It's just the technology that didn't work for me. It is recommended that you buy very expensive printers and inks also that were out of my budget. There is more to it than I imagined and I was not willing to invest the time or the money. My advice is spend a lot of money and buy what is recommended for your heat press (paper,ink,printer) and make sure you can return it all because there is no way of really knowing if it will work for you just by watching YouTube videos.

I have made several of these stocking kits for my grandchildren over the years but this one was the most time consuming....lots of embroidery and 1/2 inch pieces to embroidery and applique. The instructions were not clear and the kit did not contain sufficient red and green embroidery floss or clear beads. The back of the stocking is basic white felt so I bought green felt to match the stocking...looks much better. This is definately not a kit for a beginner. However, the end product is very nice heirloom product.
