I ordered these scissors a little over a month ago and am very happy with them. I would recommend them to anyone who does a lot of sewing or embroidery work. They really make trimming up your embroidery work in those tight spots a breaze.

these scissors have a nice, sturdy, heavy feel to them that I really like. They cut smoothly and don't wobble or feel like they're going to fall apart. That said, I wish I'd gotten straight embroidery scissors. I thought these would be handy for trimming seams and getting into tight spots, but I find that they just have me cutting more often and leaving what looks like bite marks where I'm trimming.

I consider this a limitation of my choice and not of the product, so I still gave it 4 stars

Pros -

Very sharp and cut very tight.

Cons -

Don't expect too much on the cover that came with. My other Gingher has a nice plastic cover, this one is a little leather tip cover only. :(

These scissors are just what the doctor ordered if you are a machine quilter. The strings that show on the back of the quilt are easy to remove with this type of scissors.

I have not used this item yet, but from everything I see, it is just what I am looking for. It will make a great craft item for me to do as well as a great gift should I decide to give it away. I bought these for their short bristles, to use on fabric. I assumed they were the same length as standard stencil brushes, 6", so I expected the diameter of the large brush to be about 3/4". Instead the large brush is is just over 4" long and the diameter is less than 1/2". The small brushes are only of use if one is trying to paint a very small area. Also, the handles are quite short and could be tiring for those with large hands.

The large brush did a good job on my project and I can recommend the quality of the product. However, I think the photo should show the scale more accurately. I didn't even think of checking the specs because stencil brushes tend to be 6" long.

Which can only be a good thing, since they are intended to be used with Shiva PaintStiks (which are sticks of oil paint, that provide a very firm creamy paint once you peel the dried "skin" off the stick). I have not used these yet, but I have used my PaintStiks directly onto fabric, and know that I need something to help me blend the colors! I tried other brushes I had around, and they were all too soft, or too large (yep, I tried an unused big boar bristle brush, like you might use to clean your cars tires or scrub canvas... it was stiff enough, but it was too huge to do the blending I wanted).

I'm looking forward to using these on some fabric that I intend to make a purse with.

These brushes arrived fast and were perfect for the small, detailed stencil I used. I even, accidentally, let the paint dry on them one night and was able to recover them with rubbing alcohol the next day -they were never quite the same, but the bristles didn't fall out like on some other cheap brushes.

These brushes are just the right bristle height and has the right amount of stiffness when working with Shiva Painstiks. I tried using craft store stencil brushes where usually the bristles are too long, and then I would have to cut them, or they were too soft and were not good for blending. These brushes are great for applying large areas of color, blending and when using and edge can give fine lines.

I was very impressed when i first took this item out of the packaging. It consisted of exactly what it stated and it was very user friendly. I had the opportunity to try the Olfa and the Fiskar rotary cutters from a friend who had both. After trying them for about 15 minutes, I decided I preferred the Fiskar cutter. The Olfa was okay and worked well, but the Fiskar cutter felt better ergonomically. The Fiskar handle was curved, sturdier with a better grip. I don't care for the straight cutters. Another friend also preferred the Fiskar cutter. We all decided Fiskar cutter was the best ergonomically, but will probably buy the Olfa blades. I hope this helps for those who may be on the border between the two. I rate it 4 stars because the blade is better on the Olfa.

I bought this rotary cutter in 1996 to make my daughter's wedding dress. After that I took up quilting and this cutter has done a wonderful job for me on almost every cutting task for >15 years. Recently the retraction button snapped off -no surprise that plastic got brittle after that long. I bought an identical cutter to replace my old favorite. While tossing the packaging I happened to see the lifetime warranty on the back. I wrote to Fiskars on their web site to ask if my old product carried the same warranty. They didn't need to see the broken cutter... they just sent me a new one. Great product, great company, GREAT customer service. I recommend this comfortable cutter to all my quilting friends. Regarding reviewers who said the blade retracts spontaneously, I suspect this was due to unintentionally allowing their thumb to lean or press against the retraction button. Keep the thumb on the thumb rest atop the cutter and that problem disappears.

I bought this cutter for use in bookbinding and papermaking projects. It cuts paper, even up to 240 gsm quickly and precisely. Using this cutter, a large framing square, and a sheet of plywood gives nearly the same results as a regular paper cutter, but provides more flexibility. I cannot comment on the durability of the blade, but if it is like other Fiskar products, I am sure I will be pleased.

I've always been a fan of any product of Fiskar whether it's the sharp gardening tools or this Rotary Cutter which I just purchased yesterday to help me make a straight cut on wrapping paper. OMG it sliced through the paper like a hot knife through butter and made the perfect straight line cut. I'm thinking of getting one for my Mom and Sister to share when they do their gift wrapping and I'm sure my Sister could use it most for her Scrapbooking too. This is a really awesome tool to have no just for scrapbookers, gift wrappers, or Fabric Crafters but just overall a excellent cutter. I'd recommend it to everyone who wants sharp precision cutters. :D

I bought the Alphabet set and the Scout stamps together as suggested. The Alphabet set stamping tool is too small for these stamps. Not sure which tool I was supposed to buy but the one they suggest to buy together does not work with this set! Nice stamps and great for our pack but now I have to find a tool so that I can use them!
