Discount Professional Pottery Tool Set (Eight Piece)
Very poor quality, doll trimming tools can hardly be considered "professional" The wood on one of the tools was split.I have not had the time to use this kit yet, but it appears to contain everything you need, and it all seems like it is good quality. Now I just need to find the time to use it.

Review of FabricMate Dye Markers Brush Tip Standard Barrel Set Standard
Overall, I like how the pens worked. The colors are vibrant and actually plentiful for the size project I was working on. I would recommend these for detail work since the nibs on the finepoint hold up well. They are almost "brushlike" in style, a bit soft on the tip and not necessarily condusive to using the side of the nib for large area's. You may be better off using fabric paint and brush. It takes only 24 hours to set and while it is suggested to be heat set, it is not a requirement. My only disappointment was that these don't come in larger assortments. While I like the colors of one set, it didn't come with a black pen so I had to purchase another set to get my "liner" pen. This left me with two yellow's and two red's. Each set should come a black pen aside from the various colors.
Suggestion: When working with fabric markers try using low-tack contact paper on the backside of your work area. This keeps the shirt from shifting and the inks from leaking to the back of your project. I use the clothes dryer to heat set the color on my shirts High setting for about 10-15 minutes. If you decide to use an iron, make sure you have a buffer between shirt and iron.
As the box says, ironing is not necessary but recommended. I find that when ironed on, there is practically no way to get the ink offI have a t-shirt that I made with these in middle school, and it's lasted for almost ten years and hundreds of washes.
I have gone through several sets of these pens, they last me about a year after which they dry out.

These markers allow for deep, vibrant color. They blend well, don't bleed through thick fabric, and only with extended use does the pen tip wear from its pinhead size (which makes it great for detail work). However, "extended use" for these pens is a relative term using them on 100% cotton knit, I only fully covered an area about 4"x4" before the ink started to fade to pastel, and I had to color twice as much to get color for about a square inch, until it ran out completely. I took the pen apart to see if it had really run out of ink that fast it had. I'm sure that 4"x4" estimate may vary depending on the opacity of the color you want, how hard you push down, etc., but I was unsatisfied. At $10 a box, you'd think these things would last longer. Perfect for small designs, bad for large ones.As the box says, ironing is not necessary but recommended. (#1 REVIEWER)Fabricmate is good set of fabric markers. The pen's tip create brush-like effect, which nice and different from other fabric pens. I use them in my art quilts and they produce very good results. The edges of the color are not sharp, it is less obvious that a fabric marker was used to enhance the color. The colors are nice, they do not run, and have no unpleasant odor when they are being used as some other permanent pens.I have gone through several sets of these pens, they last me about a year after which they dry out.

Review of Gypsy Silicone Sleeve Set, Pink with White Crown
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $24.99
Sale Price: $6.97
Today's Bonus: 72% Off

I've had this for almost two years now and I love it. I can't believe how clean it's kept my Gypsy.
PROS:
* The color is a cheerful bright pink with a white crown design.
* The silicone is very flexible and was no trouble to slip onto the gypsy
* The pink stylus is cute, and fits into securely into the stylus holder without wiggling around.
CONS:
* The white crown design looks like it is going to wear off quite easily
* The silicone sleeve is so thin it is not capable of protecting the gypsy against any drops, spills, or bumps.
* The enclosed screen protector is too large for the gypsy screen, and it is difficult to get it to onto the screen without air bubbles.
All in all, while I wish the sleeve was more substantial (in order to provide more protection) I am pleased with the color and look of the sleeve, as well as the ease of taking it off and on, and the pink stylus.

When I ordered this sleeve for my gypsy, I was under the impression that it was going to be a protective cover, to help guard against any bumps or falls that the gypsy may take. However, once I opened the package I was surprised to see that this cover was a very thin silicone cover. However, there are some both pros and cons for this item.PROS:

I received my Gypsy sleeve today and it's pretty much what I expected. It has a soft touch to it and it fits perfectly... Very simple and super cute. The only thing I don't like is the screen protector. It does NOT cover the entire screen and it's hard to get rid of the bubbles.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Gypsy Silicone Sleeve Set, Pink with White Crown

Conte crayons have quickly become one of my favorite mediums in the last few months. Their only downfall I found was when working on a smaller scale, like a 9x12", it was difficult for fine detailing. So, recently I also picked up the pencils Conte Sketching Set, Dull Tones Set. Conte is a hybrid of graphite/charcoal (depending) and clay. Originally they were made due to a shortage in graphite during that time era, but clearly it was a wise idea as many people still favor them today. They have the grit-feeling of graphite but the smoothness of clay and the way I use them is much similar to chalk pastels. These don't give quite the same painterly effect as chalk pastels, but I would still say it's a safe comparison as far as methods of use. My preferred paper to couple up with Conte is Canson Pastel Mi-Teintes. A rough paper is essential.
One small complaint is that these smudge easily and can become quite messy.
Theses also come in brighter colors.
I use this set in portrait drawing classes. After laying down the browns, I rub the side of the white crayon on top and use a stump to smooth it out. This creates delicious flesh tones.
So don't. The REAL price might be part of the 'shipping' cost. If you were to order two sets the 'shipping' cost doubles, three sets and the 'shipping' cost triples, four sets and the 'shipping' cost quadruples. See a trend here? C'mon, these sets weigh 4 ounces each. One could ship four sets for the one set 'shipping' cost. I would be surprised if Amazon approves this review, but even more surprised if people purchase this the way it is set up. Go to your local Art store at least i got a better deal there.

The selection of colors is simple: black, white, sepia & sanguine. I am not exactly sure of the names of the "browns." Conte also has a variety of sepias and sanguines, but they don't specify which ones are in this set.I use this set in portrait drawing classes. These were purchased as a gift for my daughter who is the artist in the family. She had been begging for them for some time, and I now see why.
I was initially skeptical as I thought that "pencils are pencils". Upon receiving them however, my daughter was quick to draw me a picture with them. The difference between this and the drawing with "normal" colored pencils was dramatic. The colors were sharper, the lines smoother, and they didn't have any of the raggedness that the normal pencils left on the page.
In addition, these last longer. The "lead" holds it's point longer, and they just feel like better quality than what you can get at a big box store.
It would be nice if they weren't quite so expensive, but as I said in the title you do get what you pay for.
I would recommend these to anyone who draws or (like me) has an artist in the family.
My set only had 59 pencils—missing "Orchid"—but it wasn't too much of a loss, as it would've just been another light purple. The packaging leaves much to be desired, though, as it's supposed to be able to prop up for easy access to the front & back rows, but the plastic edge is slippery and won't stand on its own—not unless you want to risk it falling over unexpectedly and damaging the pencils. All in all, I like them, and they were much cheaper online, which is a huge plus. They're a good sampling set to figure out which colors you actually use, so when upgrading to Premier, you can invest in singular pencils and not waste money on a full set.

The pencils are good, creamy and bright, with decent color selection (having two each of white & black is great), though I would have preferred a greater range of darker purples instead of, like, five light ones and a ruddy violet; a true indigo (blue-purple) and a medium purple would've been nice. I say "true indigo" because there *is* a pencil called "Indigo," but it's really only a dark blue, no purple involved. Premier is better in consistency and brilliancy, but these are a good stand-in for those who can't afford them, and Scholar is so so much better than Crayola & Artist's Loft (would not recommend Artist's Loft to a child—if you really want cheap colored pencils, go for Crayola), which is what I'd been stuck with before. My set only had 59 pencils—missing "Orchid"—but it wasn't too much of a loss, as it would've just been another light purple. The color options are great. The pencils just leave a waxy finish which would be fine if I wasn't rendering things for clients now that I'm done with school. Just save your money and buy the actual Prismacolor Pencils first than you won't have to buy them later.Honest reviews on Prismacolor Scholar Pencil 60 Color Set
This is for my son for Christmas. He has done a lot of research and these were his pencils of choice. However, as mentioned in other reviews, the packaging of these "expensive" pencils is absolutely terrible. My pencils were not contained at all in the flimsy plastic case the manufacturer uses as shown in the picture. Instead, they're rolling all around inside the box that Amazon uses for packaging. I don't feel this is an Amazon issue, the problem rest with the manufacturer. Can't believe they sell this product in such a lackluster package. Good golly if Crayola can figure it out with their cheap products, surely the manufacturer of a higher end product could come up with something better than this. Here's hoping the lead inside the pencils are not damaged.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Prismacolor Scholar Pencil 60 Color Set
Received the product very quickly but it was very poorly packaged. It was an order fulfilled by amazon and it probably was the worst packaging I have ever received from them. All the pencils were out of the flimsy plastic case, rattling in the box with three air pillows for company. One pencil had the point broken. You'll probably think "gee, one out of sixty" but it won't be until my niece uses the pencils that we'll be able to tell if there's internal damage. I have not tested for quality of pigmentation or any other coloring feature but I don't expect any issue. The cost was very reasonable, but we'll see.Thursday, December 4, 2014

Not laminated, no.

I am no artist. I have to rely on rubber stamps and Cricut cartridges to make my cards worthwhile. I kept reading about Copic markers in Cardmaker magazine and decided to bite the bullet and order some. Are they pricey? Yes. Are they worth it? Definitely!!!! I no longer avoid stamping people since I have the skin tones to make them look real. As the previous reviewer wrote, no more Oompa Loompas and no more pale vampires either. My Santas look like Saint Nick and not some geisha girl. I also like these markers for coloring animals since there is so much control over which shade to use. These Copic markers are fantastic with the House Mouse rubber stamp series. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these markers and am so glad I purchased them.
It's been a relief not having to "make" a color work as a skin tone for a piece & having that character end up looking like a Uumpa Lumpa. All realistic skin tone shades are included in the pack, from the palest to the darkest. It also includes the shades in between. I especially love the Copic trait of how you can blend the colors for a smooth & seamless shade. Love them! ^_^

I've always wanted a great pair of scissors (shears) since I was a kid & my parents had a very good pair -the whole family knew to always put them back in the same drawer so everyone else could find 'em nobody wanted to use other scissors. That's how I feel about this marvelous, excellent, quality tool. They have a wonderful feel for both hand fit and heft; they're SHARP and have easily cut through everything I've used them for (being reasonable as to their proper use, of course!) Perfect, straight cuts through paper & fabric, corrugated cardboard, as well as easy cuts through that nasty hard plastic packaging that we all hate. The bent shape allows you to rest the shears on the cutting surface for greater accuracy or stability when needed for precise cuts. They look like a family heirloom. You don't find products like this much these days. I'm planning to buy a shorter pair for myself, & am considering these as a holiday gift for my siblings.Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Best Plaid 20503 Apple Barrel 2-Ounce Acrylic Paint, White Deals
Pros:
Keypad provides fast frequency & voltage entries; the units are also easy. Unit computations are automatic. When you enter 3700 and hit the 'Hz' key, it displays & uses 3.700 khz.
The built-in arbitrary waves are useful for many applications.
With the timebase capable of being a slow as 1 micro-hertz (1 million seconds) you can simulate extremely slow sense data.
LABView has a USB driver for Mac, Linux & Windows that allows you to remotely control the unit over USB. The only reason why I know this is because RIGOL requires you to download the driver for Windows from the National Instruments website.
The time base seems to be spot-on with my GWInstek GDS-1062A scope. For 370hz on the generator, the scope reads 369.992hz it seems to be this close or better on all frequencies I've tried
Cons:
The Windows-based software does not work with Windows 7, although it supposed to work with XP, which makes it useless to me. But it seems like the .rdf files for the arbitrary waveform data is just a block 4096, little-endian, unsigned 16-bit values.
Its easy to hack together a program to make make arbitrary waveforms without having to use the front panel to enter each point.
The encoder knob could be better, sometimes it changes by 2 or 0 values per tactile click. Just a minor annoyance.
Overall:
The user-interface is pretty nice and intuitive in most places, like being able to press the 'Freq' twice to toggle it to 'Period' entry mode. The filename entry method could be better, but it is still quite usable. When you exceed a limit, the unit prompts you with a message, and then sets it to that limit. The other thing I like is the you have to manually turn on the outputs, after power-on. Also the outputs are overload protected, they automatically shut off, if you accidentally touch a source of voltage. Just for fun, the LABView driver makes it easy to control it with my Mac, is an added plus, even though I don't ultimately 'need' it.
I threw together a quick command-line program on the Mac, to convert .wav files to the internal .rdf data format that the DG-1022 uses; so, using Audacity & my utility, that covers my total software requirements for this device.
I am very pleased with this unit, it definitely exceeded my expectations as a replacement for my crappy old pulse generator, with all the newfangled features of today's test equipment, at a price point that I can touch.
Despite my positive impression of the value of this device, I considered giving it only four stars for the following reasons. The supplied power cord was not for US power, and I had to use a spare PC power cord. The supplied user manual was in Chinese, but the English version is available as a pdf on the CD or can be downloaded from the Rigol website. The English version is a poor translation form Chinese. It is understandable, but might be hard for inexperienced users to follow. I am concerned that trying to get technical support or warranty repair may be difficult. The software on the supplied CD requires a National Instruments dll which was not included. I have used the software only enough to verify that it works. My impression is that it will require considerable trial and error to use it effectively. My only negative comment about the instatement itself is that the BNC connectors seem flimsy, and might break if too much force is applied.
The Rigol DG1022 arrived a day early.
The unit that arrived was not for the USA market, the power cord has the wrong connector so I can't use it.
The quick start manual is printed in Chinese so I can't read it!
So the manual in Chinese isn't such a big deal since I can't apply power to the device because of the wrong power cord!
Within an hour of my original review the provider contacted me by e-mail, appologizing for the error, and explaining how it occured.
They sent a new power cord, confirmed by an e-mail the next morning. They also pointed out that english versions of the instructions are on the included CD(and on Rigol's web site).
I used a power cord from a computer and the electronic manual, the product works well and the provider is very responsive.

I am extremely impressed with this device. It has features I would only expect in a much more expensive function generator. I purchased it through Amazon for less than $450. It is easy, convenient and intuitive to use; however, I did have to consult the manual to access some functions. The frequency and amplitude appear accurate, and I have not observed any unexpected disruptions when making changes. The many features are too numerous to mention here. I suggest that you download and review the user and programming manuals. The LCD shows waveforms for various functions; however, you should probably connect the output to a good scope while learning how to use the DS1022. The capabilities of the second channel are limited, but the second channel can be switched to input and used as a frequency counter. You should also be aware that the sine wave is the only output can be used up to 20 MHz.Despite my positive impression of the value of this device, I considered giving it only four stars for the following reasons.
Best Deals for Plaid 20503 Apple Barrel 2-Ounce Acrylic Paint, White
So far, this product does everything I expected it to do, and it does it well. This is the second Rigol product I've bought (the other is a 1052 digital storage scope), and I'm amazed at how much functionality I got for my money. The low cost of these instruments has made it possible for me to expand my volunteer teaching of engineering topics for middle-school students in my area.Honest reviews on Plaid 20503 Apple Barrel 2-Ounce Acrylic Paint, White
What a big surprise! Is this April Fools day?The Rigol DG1022 arrived a day early.

Buy Come2buy 100pc 12mm Painted Colorful Spot Pyramid Studs Metal Claw
There were NOT 100 pieces inside the package. It completely gave a false advertisement of the quantity of the product. I was missing over 20 studs. I did not like that at all.the prongs were really flimsy so I wouldn't suggest this for thicker fabrics but otherwise there are awesome. I like the look of them too

These are like fat crayons in that they would be easy to grip by someone with toddler hands or an adult with arthritus. They are colorful and I plan to see them in action soon when my grand daughter visits.Honest reviews on RoseArt Beginner Grip Bulb Paint Brushes, 5-Count, Packaging May
These are a firm bristle so if that is what you are looking for these will do just fine. My daughter has an easel so she paints outside with lots of paint. On a piece of paper inside might be a little more difficult and messy. Someone said I could use to distribute glue so that is what I am going to use them for as well...Monday, August 11, 2014
Discount Loew-Cornell Oil Painting Kit For Dummies 577
All the paint brushes in this product are terrible. The bristles are coated in something that make them one solid mass, until you break them up with your fingers a bit, or wash them. One brush tip broke right off the handle before I even got to use it. Definitely makes you appreciate the real brushes you can get for slightly more money at an art store. (I found great deals at)
The "canvas" they give you to start with is a tiny, 4x6 piece glued to a piece of cardboard. Only good for seeing what kind of brush strokes you can get from the different brushes.
The storage/carrying case all the stuff came in was busted in one corner. I considered sending it back for a new one, but decided to open it and check out the contents first. Glad I didn't waste the money on return shipping, because they whole thing is so cheaply made it would have been a waste of time.
The book is a great, brief introduction to oil paints, brush strokes, composition and method, as well as tips on mixing with oils/water and washing/care for your brushes. There is MUCH more information in the full version of Oil Painting for Dummies, but so much more it's a bit daunting, so this little version is helpful.
The palate is handy and the paints are good quality for a beginner.
Over all, it's a great learning tool, but probably has a lifespan of 1-2 months. Definitely need to buy better brushes.
This really is a comprehensive introduction to oil painting, if you want an inexpensive way to decide if this is the art medium/hobby for you.
