I really love these little garden fences. They look authentic and have fit into all the designs very well. The only thing that would make them perfect is if they were resin so they wouldn't eventually rot in the moist conditions of my fairy gardens. If used indoors with a miniature setting and no soil then they would be perfect.

I used this multiple times since the purchase and it is still going strong. It makes clean cut shapes. The die cuts at made of thin metal but they are strong and do not bend.

Love this Die, but I can not get clean cuts with my Big Shot. I follow all the You Tube instructions and I also have to put extra volume to may cutting sandwich.

I still need to play around some more and see what else I can do w/them. I'm not sure what the difference is between the large and small. The kit is okay.... my wire cutters were the only issue with the kit. They had a small spot of rust on them (not on the blades) which isn't too big of a deal. But they didn't cut well. They serve the purpose well buy not great. I do recommend but only if you have another pair of cutters.

This is a really nice, complete set of tools that I purchased to replace my old tools, which were marring my materials. These tools don't leave marks and are of good quality. I don't know if they'd be good enough for a professional jeweler, but they are definitely perfect for a hobbyist like myself. They fit my hands perfectly, however, I have very small hands and I don't know how someone with large hands will feel about them. The case they come in is attractive, and the double bands inside keep the tools neat. They're a little tight, though, and its difficult to put some of the tools back in place, especially the bent nose chain pliers. Also, the case doesn't close properly if you don't put the tweezers back in the "correct position." This is something I can get used to, but I still find it annoying at the moment. These few flaws are very minor in my opinion, and do not change the fact that the tools are excellent and that the case is mostly very good.

I've read the reviews and I don't have any trouble with the size. They are a tight fit but I prefer it so that tools won't slide around and the straps are not going to wear out quickly.

The brush came to me with a nice crisp point and after using it now for a couple of months, it is still great. I find it is just the right size for small washes and also smaller area work, since the point stays well. I feel it was a good choice.

This is a nice basic set of colorsgood variety. The paint has good consistencysmall pots though. There is enough paint for small projects, but not for large areasalso good for touch ups. If you have a bigger project I would suggest getting the 2 oz size bottles of the colors you need.

the prongs were really flimsy so I wouldn't suggest this for thicker fabrics but otherwise there are awesome. I like the look of them too

I love both Quinacridone Burnt Orange and Quinacridone Gold from Daniel Smith. Quinacridone Burnt Orange is very similar to Pompeii Red which is also brilliantreddish golden lusciousness.

It is a transparent, granulating, low staining color that mixed with French ultramarine blue makes a gorgeous moody sky. Mixed with sap green you get a deeper mossy color for shadows.

Daniel Smith colors are fabulous and this one follows suit. Nice even application and tone. Transparent watercolor is difficult at times, but these colors help.

I am a very active plein aire watercolorist. I own and use more than a dozen small, half-pan watercolor boxes, about a half dozen from Winsor & Newton. To my mind this model, the mini PLUS is a brilliant design, in honesty, rivaling Winsor & Newton's legendary but much more expensive "Bijou Box". It contains about the practical minimum number of hues in an easily used package. Just brilliant! Although plastic, the box is quite sturdy. Despite holding the Cotman or student grade line of paints, I've found it still wonderful to use. (The difference between my not-so-good efforts and the accidental good ones is not student ("Cotman") versus professional ("Artist's") Winsor & Newton paints.) I can strongly recommend this unit for the serious traveler or plein aire watercolorist traveling light. What I cannot recommend or understand is either the "toy" category or the list price. At another site I paid half this and received it in two days, ordinary shipping.

In short: NOT a toy. Children make hopeless messes of cake / pan kits, mixing and thus ruining the colors at the source. (I teach children with tube colors.)

Too expensive (list price) at this particular vendor.

As typical for this genre, the included brush is unsatisfactory. Too small. You'll need to augment this with a good, larger travel brush.

However, otherwise a just outstanding product for an adult watercolorist wanting a sturdy and compact travel outfit. Were it not framed here as a list-priced toy, I'd have given it a good 4.5 stars.

This little kit is about the size of a cell phone and is very easy to use as a travel palette. The paints are good and can be replaced by artist-grade paints of the same or other colors (purchased separately), if desired.

I agree with the reviewer who wrote that one might not want any fewer colors in the kit to work with, but this product works really well as a travel palette. It also has a reasonable amount of mixing area, especially considering the size of the product. I use a waterbrush with this kit instead of the delivered brush (which is too tiny to be practical for my needs).

A worthwhile purchase.

I used this on mason jars and got an uneven effect. However, I used the color Wedding Cake on mason jars and got an even coating. I used the same technique for each color, but the blue had streaking. We decorated the blue jars with wide lace ribbon wrapped around them, and wrapped the white jars with burlap ribbon. We then added battery-operated tealights, and you couldn't tell the blue paint was uneven.

I brought these to use with my Inductive Bible Study. They work perfect, they dry instantly and don't bleed through the pages.

I have been using Sakura Micron pens for over a decade now for pen and ink drawings and sketches and have never run into any issues with them. I use these pens to stipple, hatch, and line and for me they've worked just fine. These definitely come with the highest quality archival ink out of all the non-refillable pens I've used.

I only wish the plastic case it came in was more of a durable case than simple packaging. I was on the verge of throwing the container away but I realized that I don't really have an organizer pen/cil case to hold 16 of these, so I have to just keep all of them in the container which is okay, but a small hassle to discreetly keep in my small backpack or purse when on-the-go. Definitely recommended for artists or just people who enjoy pen & ink coloring and drawing. Overall, a great purchase and quality item.

A) 4 sheets of premium vinyl (9-inch by 24-inch of black, white, dark pink, leaf green): it would have been nice if it had more lengthy samples, but then again it's a starter pack.

B) 10-feet of premium transfer paper: nice to have for future projects as well

C) Silhouette hook & Silhouette scraper: These are pretty handy tools when working with vinyl, the hook will help you get those "negative" vinyl out of the way before applying transfer paper. And the scrapper helps you have the vinyl in its right place without air bubbles, it's not exceptionally required though as you can use any credit card like card for the same purpose, it's nice to have though :)

D) Exclusive download card good for 10 vinyl designs: This one entitles you to download 10 free vinyl designs, with text messages, house shape, frame shapes, a train, a tree branch and a couple more..

I bought this kit after purchasing the new Silhouette Cameo. I am a novice when it comes to vinyl. There was a lot of trial and error in the beginning with cutting depth. I have found that the Silhouette Vinyl is of much better quality than what I have found at hobby stores. My kit came with black, soft pink, and a lime green vinyl rolls. The transfer tape is very good compared to others I have used. I recommend buying this as it is a great deal and far less expensive than purchasing everything separately.

Not too much in the package, some vinyl, a DVD I have yet to watch, pretty much what I expected. Except...wait a minute...Mine was missing the scraper! Thus begins my tale of woe....errr..wait a minute. or not. Usually these experiences leave me annoyed, and frustrated. Often its "spend more money then its worth to ship x to us, prove your identity, and include a hair sample". Not here.

I emailed customer service to inform them I had 2 hooks, but no scraper thingy. Response "hey no problem send us you address and name, and serial number and we will ship one out. One problem-my came machine isn't here yet, so no serial number. I told them I would email it to them when it arrived.

So yeah normally thats...wait and wait, then send the serial number when you get your machine, then wait some more right? Nah, these guys said, "ah skip that then, just your name and addy and we will take care of you". i suspect they looked up my serial number from that since my machine was still in the mail.

This is what buying a product should feel like. When they mess up they take care of it.

Honest reviews on Silhouette Vinyl Starter Kit

I'm not incredibly talented at crafting, and the Silhouette was a splurge. I've been dipping my toes into the possibilities of the cutting machine and finally purchased this starter kit. If the price is right, the kit is a great value one can probably determine this by looking at the price for a hook, scraper, a full size roll of transfer paper and adding it together. There are "sample" pieces of 4 colors of vinyl, but not full rolls.

The demonstration video is borderline useless. I had to watch a few videos on YouTube to really get a feel for how things work. My first vinyl project turned out flawless (maybe because I read/re-read the instructions multiple times and watched other videos). I'm really excited to come up with new vinyl projects.

Two more points: (1) I think some crafters don't believe the "scraper" tool is worth buying, but I disagree. Although it is just a piece of molded plastic, I get much better results with it than an old credit card it is more sturdy and fits in your hand better. (2) This one is silly, but perhaps some users can relate: I like the box it came in. My office/scrapbook room/junk room gets pretty cluttered and these starter kit boxes are great to keep your Silhouette stuffs organized.

I have had nothing but fun with this machine thus far. Made some really cute things. The machine is so easy to use and with the optional software (that is VERY reasonably priced) I have been able to make my own designs. My daughters wedding is upcoming and we have some really neat things planned. I highly recommend this over the Cricut.
