I have to tell you, this is an absolutely beautiful picture. I love the design and the kit has everything you need(except a frame if you wanted to frame it).
I love it, but I was so attracted by the florals that I didn't realize this is on 28", very teeny tiny squares. I like working on the 18 squares per inch, and the 22" is too small for me, so you can tell 28" would be waaay too small for me to work with. I am going to try and resize the pattern, because I like it so much.
If you are very young and have amazing eyesight, you will truly want to try this one. Very beautiful, nice kit and arrived before I expected it. Packaged nicely and the kit is even in a reclosable packet.
I would recommend this!!I loved the design the first I saw it. When I received it, I realized the threads do not have any identification (physically). How would i know which thread to use? The pattern says the color and the corresponding color number. However, the thread physically do not have the color number. Am i just to guess it?

Distinctive Large Metal Darning/Free Motion Sewing Machine Presser Reviews

I quilt about 40 hours a week and have a small collection of free motion quilting foots. This is the only one I use, the others are for emergencies only! Where most have visibility issues, this has a large hoop and thin structure so that you can see what's around it. This definitely helps me stitch more accurately. I'm always trying to sway people from their small plastic ones to this one.
The fabric has a bit of a tight fit on the newer machine (the 7057C), but that may be because I can't lower the feed dogs on that machine, but instead have to cover them with a little plastic plate. It's not difficult, just something to be conscious about.
The stitches came out looking nice, once I fiddled a bit with thread tension. It's easy to see the stitches while the needle is making them. That is one of the reasons I decided on this foot, which has a little metal ring, instead of a solid one made of clear acrylic.
I am just learning to do machine quilting, using this foot, so I don't have anything else to which to compare it. I think it was a good value, and it does what I want it to.

I just received this item in the mail and attached it to my Janome 3160QDC machine. It works great! I bought it to use while I did free motion quilting. I had previously tried the different feet that came with my machine, which did not work. I tried free motion quilting without any foot, which I could do somewhat, but the thread would break every few minutes. This foot enables me to sew continuously in any direction without my thread breaking or tangling. It also has a nice, wide viewing area so you can see what you are stitching. I am an amateur when it comes to quilting, but now I feel like I could do a decent job with the stippling stitch and even learn to do some other, more sophisticated stitches. I would highly recommend this foot to anyone interested in learning free motion quilting.Best Deals for Distinctive Large Metal Darning/Free Motion Sewing Machine Presser
I am new to quilting and did not understand how useful this pressure foot would be. I bought a quilting book which explained why this type of pressure foot is essential if your quilting stitches will involve anything other than straight lines. Easy to use, although I would practice a bit on some scrap fabric and batting to get a feel for how to move your fabric. Fits my Brother sewing machine and was less expensive than the Brother model. Plus it is all metal and not plastic/metal like the others. It does squeak (due to the spring) when you sew.Honest reviews on Distinctive Large Metal Darning/Free Motion Sewing Machine Presser
I have successfully used this foot on my two low-shank Singer sewing machines a 165J and a 7057C. It works like a charm on both machines. I am having so much fun, learning to free-motion quilt with this foot. The fabric has a bit of a tight fit on the newer machine (the 7057C), but that may be because I can't lower the feed dogs on that machine, but instead have to cover them with a little plastic plate. Discount Leather Factory Craftool Creative Stamp Set

It's a good starter set, I think it has the shapes you need to try and decide if you like this kind of work, at a very affordable price by the way. You need different pressure with every tool, though. So, it's important to practice in a piece of leather similar to the one of your project, because you can get an image barely noticeable or you can cut the leather depending on which tool you have used, and always with about the same intensity of hammer hit. That would mean 4 stars if I would have received the whole set. The knife was missing, they couldn't dispatch only the knife, so I had to decide whether I return the whole set or to receive a percentage of what I paid. I chose to keep what I got, because I did need some of the tools before holidays. At least they offered these options very quickly.
The tools are cast and not solid steel. 2 of the tools started bending 1/2 way thru my belt embossing project and eventually broke.
If you tap the stamp lightly it may last longer, but you won't get the deep imprint in the leather that will stand out after staining and antiquing.

I looked everywhere for these posters and this was by far the best value I found. I was able to switch them out with old worn posters and they look great.
The posters last a long time.
Beside this... I recommend purchasing them. I bought them for my office and hope that they will fit ok.

I bought this set of Inspirations "Art Prints" thinking that they would have some sort of backing so they could be hung in my office right away. These are "posters" and should be described as so. I have looked for some inexpensive way to hang these, but the cheapest I could find for poster frames that fit theses sizes would end up costing me an additional $60-$80. Now they just seem like expensive posters that I purchased. Make sure you have a way of displaying them before you buy.Wednesday, August 13, 2014

These pencils are soft enough to feel like I am using soft pastel sticks when I draw with them. This set I purchased came with a long tortillon for blending, an eraser, and a manual pencil sharpener.
Unlike the other two reviewers who gave these great pencils a 1-star rating, I was fully aware of what I was ordering and buying, and this is why they get a 5-star rating from me.

Not only were these about 20% of the price for comparable number of items in small sets, but they are tougher so you don't waste any with breakage, and the pastels are quite different from what she had before more a true pastel rather than just faint true colors. I have been crocheting probably for 45 years, and with the arthritis in my hands, My Susan Bates Hooks, were starting to hurt them even worse. Like the other crocheters the Boye Hooks to me are horrible hooks, and I have been using my Susan Bates Hooks forever. I remember getting my first set when they had a factory in Chester Ct. I came upon the Clover Hooks, and I fell in love with them. They are easy on the palm of your hands, and make crocheting fun again. You can hold your tension with ease and not have to rip back because the tension became to loose or tight. Way to go Clover, Thank You... Sorry Susan I feel like I lost my best friends.. :( Also want to add before you all go wasting your money, the Addi Swing hooks are garbage. They are bent in a non traditional way, they feel like you are trying to crochet with a spoon. Not comfortable at all, and just make my hand hurt even worse. I wish there was a way we could try these hooks before purchasing them, but I do hope this review is most helpful and if you are planning to upgrade your hooks, stick with the clover hooks, you will definitley enjoy them.

I do a LOT of amigurumi and my hands get sore from making tight sts. I think the animals turn out better, and hold the stuffing better, when using a smaller hook and making tight sts. I usually use an E or an F for ww yarn such as Red Heart Super Saver, just to give you an idea, and those little metal handles start hurting after awhile. I have avoided making Barbie clothes with crochet thread because of this.
I tried the bamboo handled Susan Bates and they were okay, but still not what I was looking for. Too much metal before the bamboo. I tried those foam cushion things, but didn't care for them. I even tried baking poly clay handles onto a couple of my hooks, but my hands still hurt.
The Clover Amour hooks are the tapered style, so I was very reluctant to try them. I saw them in the new craft store in town, but dismissed them due to the tapered throat. No way. I'm an inline girl... however... after being "commissioned" by my daughter to make 6 tiny kittens as last minute party favors, my aching hands begged me to try them anyway.
And I love them!
The actual hook/head/point portion isn't as bulbous and... fat?... as a Boye hook. Because of this, I think it's easier to insert the hook into the sts. It isn't so pointy that it splits the yarn, though. The groove isn't as shallow as a Boye (but not as deep as a SB), which means I'm not as likely to drop a loop. The metal is super smooth; yarn glides easily. There isn't too much metal before the cushion, which was the problem with the SB bamboo, so the Amour works nicely with how I hold my hook. The cushioned portion itself is super dreamy. I really, really love how it feels when I'm crocheting.
My hands don't hurt and my sts are nice and tight. Although my SB hooks are all vintage and made in the US, I have to admit that I don't miss them one bit. All in all, a well-deserved 5-star rating for these hooks.
Oh, and I got all of the kittens done in time!
Recently I went through a phase of trying to keep many little projects going while traveling, working and moving and of course managed to never have the right hook when I wanted it. I finally decided to do what has worked for me in other aspects of my life, and that is to buy something so brightly colored it would be harder to lose (of course I'm ignoring the fact that some of my hooks are already brightly colored, but really I wanted a treat too). I found this set, saw Clover was the manufacturer and decided to give them a try.
I do love the brightness factor, but I also appreciate the high quality construction. But even more importantly, I found the handles to be just the right contour--thicker for holding, with a thumb rest and angled so the other fingers are also in a neutral feeling position. Very comfortable, more so than the soft touch in my hands. Also, the material is dense, but has just a teensy bit of give sensation, sort of rubberized instead of just a hard plastic which also increases the comfort factor.
I'm a 'knife' holder when I crochet and I handed some to a friend who is a 'pencil'. She liked them too, though her tastes run to a pointier tip. I like the tip, works very well with the bulky and worsted weights and yarn types I tend to favor.
Definitely my new favorite set of hooks.
Highly Recommended.

Just a note to be aware of when shopping Amazon, these are (currently) sold by 'partner vendors'. When I bought mine they were a tad more expensive than the price listed at the time I'm writing the review (I spent about fifty total) but mine were sold by a vendor that uses the Amazon warehouses as their shelf space. In other words it had the 'fulfilled by Amazon' tag which means super saver and Prime shipping applies. The current vendor has a lower price and free shipping, but it is important to look closely at the vendor's terms before buying. Also, do your due diligence with the vendors--check feedback. I'ver RARELY had any issues, but it does pay to check.
Once, I was on a trip, and needed a hook size I hadn't packed, so I went to the nearest craft store only to be disappointed that they didn't have my brand. I bought a Armour hook, thinking that it had to be better than skipping my evening crochet/relaxation time. The Armour hook was amazing. It slid through stitches like a hot knife through butter, and old fashioned wool simply glided over the hook like it was silk. I was doing a no-brainier piece, so I was mostly watching TV while crocheting at a leisurely pace, without paying much attention to my progress. When the news finished, I was shocked to see how much was done. I had crocheted at least as fast as I do when I'm actually focused on my work.
The only problem was that when I got home, my once-prized hook set felt inferior. I could feel the yarn dragging along the hook in a way I'd never noticed before and I realized that the friction made my movements less fluid than they were with the Armour hook. When I switched back to the Armour hook, there was a noticeable speed improvement, because the stutter in my rhythm had disappeared. I've never been a speed demon, but it was exciting to suddenly be able to get more done without more effort. I felt like I'd found a magic hook. The only thing that made sense was to buy the whole set.
So, here's the actual review:
These hooks will spoil you for any others. They are extremely comfortable and stable in a pencil-like grip and Clover's hook shape is much easier to work with than that of other brands. They offer an incredibly smooth crochet experience, making even tricky fibers a breeze to stitch. With these hooks, I'm able to crochet more quickly and with less hand fatigue than experience has taught me to expect. In short, I just love them.
I wish I could get a few larger than 6mm. I recently did a quickie project with chunky yarn, and after a brief go with the recommended hook size (in plastic), I decided that I'd rather use my 6mm Armour and just compensate for the gauge discrepancy with extra stitches. That I would prefer to do extra work just so I could use one of these hooks, pretty much shows how much I love Armour.

I'm really turning into a fan of the Clover products. The first time I bought a hook was truly at random while in a Japanese yarn store--it was one of the 'soft touch' variety. It was very early in my crochet resurgence and I knew I liked it. Since then I've also used the basic aluminums, some bamboos and even a lighted plastic hook. Whenever the Clover was the right size, that is the hook I opted to use.Recently I went through a phase of trying to keep many little projects going while traveling, working and moving and of course managed to never have the right hook when I wanted it.

Review of Sargent Art 22-1610 No-Spill Paint Cups with Color-Coded Lids, Set
My 4 year old granddaughter loves to paint, but it usually presents itself as quite messy. These turned out to be the best! I found that the 10 pack of Crayola washable paints is a perfect match for these cups. They are definitely spillproof and actually larger than I expected.
The paint cups were easy enough for my son to open and close himself (which might be a warning to parents here as he was able to do this at two). The opening for the brush was wide enough that my son could easily manage getting the brushes in and out without making a royal mess. He dropped them a couple of times and we had no problems with spills. I'm really impressed with these little paint cups and how well designed and convenient these are for young children. Our son was never allowed to paint unattended, but he loved the feeling of independence he got from being able to do it all by himself. I've tried a lot of art supplies with my older two, but these paint cups are my favorite. We'll be replacing them again after our next move in 6 months when we don't have to worry about paint drying into them again.
These match up with the Crayola Washable Kids Paint set of 10 Bottles (2 fl oz/59mL), though there is no black, so we just put the pink in the container for the black, which my son was okay with.

These are air tight, the lids snap tight so they don't seem to spill if tipped over, and they are a sturdy plastic. Fit well in our easel tray. I am happy about this purchase.Best Deals for Sargent Art 22-1610 No-Spill Paint Cups with Color-Coded Lids, Set
These work so well! I bought some washable paint and filled these not quite to the fill line (which is very low on the container) and they have not spilled even with a 2 yr old. They also have kept the paint wet for an entire month so far and I have been slacking in taking out the brushes and keeping the lids closed. I really love them and I have 4 kids ages 5, 5, 4 and 2. If they work for me they will work for you.Honest reviews on Sargent Art 22-1610 No-Spill Paint Cups with Color-Coded Lids, Set
I love these paint cups. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way not to leave them with paint in them for long periods of time to store. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if they were for constant use, but ours dried out after we stored them away for a couple of months while we were gearing up to move. When they were in regular use (no less than once a week) we didn't have a problem. They're plenty big, so you can really fill them up with paint, which means not having to constantly refill them. The paint cups were easy enough for my son to open and close himself (which might be a warning to parents here as he was able to do this at two). Hard to spill the paint, but would never fill it anywhere near full since the paint still manages to dry out, even with lids closed tight. Debatable whether cleaning these after each use is better than just cleaning the occasional spill from my preschoolers, but at least it keeps the colors separate.Thursday, July 17, 2014
Review of Martha Stewart Gloss Transparent Glass Paint, 2-Ounce
I used this on mason jars and got an uneven effect. However, I used the color Wedding Cake on mason jars and got an even coating. I used the same technique for each color, but the blue had streaking. We decorated the blue jars with wide lace ribbon wrapped around them, and wrapped the white jars with burlap ribbon. We then added battery-operated tealights, and you couldn't tell the blue paint was uneven.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you use stamps to create backgrounds and borders, you will love the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear Deluxe Set. This set has everything you need to create oval, circular and corner designs, as well as original patterned papers and medallions/mandalas. It includes 18 rubber cling stamps in 4 different styles, so they can be mixed and matched to create a plethora of designs. (Other Inkadinkado cling stamps may also be used.) The designs are done with any of the 4 gears included along with the paddle stamping block, which are used in a way that is reminiscent of the classic "spirograph" drawing system. The stamps included may also be used alone to create accents or to create/enhance drawings. There is an instructional brochure included which is very helpful. However, I highly recommend that the user practice on a scrap piece of paper before the actual application, to enhance skills and work-out visualized designs. My only complaint is that the packaging was designed in such a way that it makes it very difficult to store the parts after opening it and some of the design ideas printed on the packaging may be destroyed.
First, the packaging of this product is terrible. I couldn't get the stamps or the wheel or anything out of the package. I was hoping that I would be able to reuse the packaging because I really liked the way everything was placed in there. You could see everything and it just looked really nice, but there was no way to get everything out without completely cutting and ripping apart the packaging.
Once you get everything out, the product is pretty fun. I enjoyed sitting down and creating fun designs, but most of the time when I am working on a scrapbooking project, I don't feel like getting everything out just to make one thing for a layout.
I do like that you can use other stamps with this to create an endless possibility of designs. It's nice that I don't have to only get the stamps that are created specifically for this.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Inkadinkado... what a name! This well-made stamping set has everything one needs to create colorful custom projects. Fun for the whole family here. Circular and ovals can be created using the 'gears' and the eighteen stamps supplied. Or, you can use the beautiful patterns individually. Dress up a greeting card and envelope with the stamps. If there aren't enough patterns in the kit, more can be purchased. An endless supply of creativity! Perfect for scrapbookers! This is a well made product. The only drawback is that the stamps and gears cannot be stored in the colorful package unless you take the time to carefully cut the plastic 'bubbles' in a way that they can be returned to the package. That's what I did... I cut slots in the tops or sides to access the contents so I can replace them and store the package on it's side. Works fine!Best Deals for Inkadinkado Stamping Gear Set
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This deluxe set includes jigs, 2 round and 2 oval, a unique stamp block for cling stamps, and a nice little variety of stamps to use with it. The jigs have a textured bottom pad that help to hold them in place during use. They have tab openings around them to allow for measured placement of a stamp image to create a pattern. The "hollow" jigs have tab openings on the inside and outside, making them two jigs in one. There are some great examples on the box to inspire your creativity. The included stamps seem to have one or more images that coordinate with the individual stamp sets that are also offered in this line. I found the quality of these tools to be excellent, well thought out , easy to use and easy to clean up. After playing with the set for a while, I found I wanted to try some designs with a substantially smaller image. I tried the block with a variety of my other cling stamps. They all worked well. Besides stamping frames and patterns, I found I could use the jigs to place words and letters in a circle or oval around another image, as on a greeting card. I did make two revisions to my set. I used a sharpie and put different colored dots in the tab openings on my jigs. This made it easier to keep track of where my next placement should go, especially when I had to reink. I also used a ruler and put dots on the sides of the stamps, vertical and horizontal center. This made it a cinch to align a stamp image exactly squared on the block. I had been having a little trouble, especially with ornate designs, of eyeballing the image in alignment with the marks on the block. After pricing the individual components, I highly recommend getting the deluxe set. As soon as you try it, you'll want the other jigs anyway and the stamps included are not duplicated in the individual sets so you'll have to get this set to have them too. I probably won't be using this on a daily basis well, after this initial flurry of creative experimentation wanes, anyway but it has earned a place in my craft room repertoire and I can see that I will have lots of opportunity to expand on the effects I already am using this for. In the meantime, I have already purchased two more sets of the stamps as these can be used individually in addition to with the jigs. Great job, EK Success!Honest reviews on Inkadinkado Stamping Gear Set
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Let's get the packaging out of the way first. The presentation of what's in the kit is great. To look at. However, that was THE toughest package to crack open I've ever seen and the plastic edges become sharp. I was hoping to be able to store the pieces in the package but that never happened. They need to seriously rethink that packaging. I actually keep the 24 parts all in a plastic bin so they're together. I've seen these kits in Michaels but didn't want to spend the money for so many parts that I didn't know if I'd use. If I was more of a scrapbooker instead of a card maker, I'd probably use this more. But I like creating symetrical designs. Now I must say that Inkadinkado is one of my very favorite brands for stamps along with Hero Arts. The products are always well made and create crisp designs.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Inkadinkado Stamping Gear Set
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a fun product in theory. It reminds me of a toy I had when I was younger where you use a stencil with markers trace the design, then move the stencil on the notches and trace the design again.First, the packaging of this product is terrible.
