I don't learn from reading. I learn from being taught in real life, by a real person. Well this book taught me. This book is definitely for anyone who is just like me. It is amazing and i cannot believe it but i'm tatting. I picked it up and did it like i always just knew how and could. I will post some images from all i've done in about 3 days of having this book. I'm hooked and i would have payed upward of $50 for this book. Amazing. I'll be using tatting in jewelry making, crazy quilting and much more.

This was a really great, easy way to learn needle tatting. I started with the bookmark as my first "project". I have never needle tatted prior to this. I do crochet some but I am no where near skilled when it comes to that. I did learn how to do that from a book when I was pregnant with my daughter (she is 8 now) and I figured if I could learn that from a book, I may be able to do this as well.

The instructions in this book were very clear and the pictures were super helpful. The book goes through a step by step process and teaches you the basics and slowly introduces the abbreviated pattern instructions. The way the whole thing was put together couldn't have been better, in my opinion. The only thing that could have made it better is if Barbara Foster herself was sitting next to me giving me step by steps.

My little bookmark came out perfectly and looked just like the picture, I honestly couldn't be more pleased.

Clear instructions with good pictures for visual learners. This was so simple that I was on the internet looking for new patterns within two hours. A very good explanation and instructions. Since the needles were included with the set I didn't have to go searching for them elsewhere and the multiple sizes of the needles will keep me going for a long time.

This set is amazing for about 10$ shipped you get 18 pencils, 2 erasers, 3 blunders and a knife. The moldable eraser is faber castell and the regular one is roma. The pencils say marko and were like. .. pencils! The pencil holder can be used both ends and seems well made.

The case is really good canvas and faux leather trim. It folds up nice and round, a little thicker (about 3" dia) than I expected. But when you roll it up, you can imagine it going into Indiana Jones satchel. Assuming Junior was a wannabe artist.

The only quibble I have is the mix of pencils you get 4 each of 4B and 2B, but no 2h, 4h or 5h. Easily remedied, but would have made the set complete without a trip to the local art store. There are free slots for extra pencils though.

I bought this kit for painting 4" street numbers on my curb, and it fits perfectly. The numbers are stiff and durable, and can be cleaned with paint thinner. They need to be held down if the surface is irregular, and be prepared to touch up the numbers if you use a brush.

I bought this specifically to use to spray paint numbers on street curb. Well, it is not designed for that purpose; plastic doesn't bend or stay bent on curved surface. You can use it to create stencil on paper where this has contact with paper on flat surface. If you do really really want this because if does have nice font, you can use it to stencil your house numbers on a 81/2 x 14 sheet of card stock, then cut out the stencil area and use that card stock to paint numbers on the curb. Very thick and sturdy product.

I grew up with a painter (my grandmother), so I have enough experience with hanging paintings... but when I moved to a new city, I didn't have any of the tools I needed to hang paintings on the wall. This kit is perfect! The wire is very sturdy yet surprisingly light weight, and bends easily so it's no problem to wind it around itself at the back of the picture to secure it. I hung a couple very heavy acrylic paintings on canvas with solid wood frames, and have had no problems at all (I used two hooks on the wall to hold up each painting since they were so heavy). Nailing the hanger hook to the wall is very simple and straight forward. I haven't used the eye hooks yet, since the frames I bought already had hooks on the back (just no wire), so I can't comment on how to get those in or how well they work. Just one note, make sure you have some wire cutters (many sets of pliers have wire cutters on the inside hinge), as the metal wire would be too strong to cut any other way, but cuts easily with wire cutters.

I purchased this paper to use with my set of Copic sketch markers, since it was advertised for use with such. As far as paper for Copics goes, its slightly better than your run of the mill marker paper however, it really isn't what I was expecting for something advertised for Copics.

The individual sheets themselves are very thick, and not as smooth as some other brands of marker papers I've tried. The really big issue is the absorbancy of the paper I love copics because of the ability to blend and mix colors, but this paper literally just falls apart after you apply a few layers of color. The paper fibers start to ball up and tear apart precisely what using a specialized marker paper is meant to avoid. It also affects the pigment of the inks in a bad way there is a strange darkening of colors that persists even after the work is dry.

In short, its okay for quick sketches or experiments, but don't expect to be able to layer and blend colors or get a high quality result from this paper.

It's smooth enough that it doesn't tear my felt-tip pens, but not too glossy to use mechanical pencils. It's absorbent enough to blend markers like Copics without streaks, yet not enough to allow bleed. It's not cardstock, but it has a nice solid weight, and feels like a presentation-quality paper. The fact that it comes in individual sheets (rather than a bound book, which can be quite annoying if you sell your originals) is just a bonus.

I've tried a lot of different brands, and for my money, this is the best marker paper out there.

I have used many types of paper designed for use with Copic markers and so far this is the best I've used. It does still bleed through the back so you may still need to put something under it, but as far as the picture and color quality, the markers show their true colors and are easily blend-able, be it with the colorless blender or by other means. I highly suggest this paper for Copic users!

These little guys work great. We used them for some crafts my wife made on very thin wooden circles. The nails that come with it are about half and inch long, so we ended up super gluing these little guys to the back and it turned out really well. If I need more of these, I will buy this brand again.

You need a pair of needle nose plyers to hold the nails as you tap them. Once you know that trick, it is a piece of cake.

Made a plaque for my mom and wanted it to lay flush with the wall.

These did the trick nicely. Routed a recess across the center-line of the plaque and made a little notch on the "south" side of it to allow the head of a nail to be able to get under the hangar.

If you're having problems setting the nails in tight areas, just use long needle-nose pliers to set the nails in and then tap the nails in with a hammer and punch.

Most all of the material in these two handy reference books also exists in the original magazines, but having it compiled is very handy. I wish there were more volumes than just the two.

Kit includes everything you need to complete one project plus you have the disk and bobbins for future projects. Easy to follow instructions. WOW! anyone when they find out you did all of the weaving it looks very complicated but it's easy once you set it up. I've made several other items because the first turned out so good. This kit includes everything you need to complete one project. It is hard to see in the picture but the handled and zippered pouch is invaluable to keep all the pieces together, and some of them are small. I stumbled with the instructions and had to get help from another source. The text was too small and difficult to for me to read on colored background-maybe not a problem for most. I am hooked! My suggestion is to purchase extra discs if you have requests of braids of differing colors or style that are need at the same time. I've learned the hard way. The extra discs make it much less stressful as I can alternate time on each project and have them finished at the same time. I don't feel the stress of finishing up the second one. Phew! I also learned that Tibetan Monks historically have used this silk cord weaving for use in their ceremony's. Now all my Tibetan Buddist friends are requesting cords. Fun!

these stamps work fine on light gauge metals, but if you planning on stamping anything that might have any carbon steel you may waste a stamp set. Tin, brass, aluminum or pewter you should be okay.
