Miniature Light Set Can Accent Many Craft Projects and Is Battery Reviews

I've written the seller requesting a full refund including shipping. My issues with this product are two-fold. 1) They are described as "very bright"; they are not. I compare these against the small lights that came with a wreath I recently purchased...same size lights, same power source, probably 1/2 the light. 2) My main issue with this product is that they describe each light as having "its own 17' wire"...they don't, they have TWO wires. I needed these for an application where I ran the wire up the sides of small items, hiding the wire and lighting the top. That is impossible to do with two wires. The two wires also originate from different points on the battery pack, so its not like you just have a double thick wire, you end up with what looks like a loop with a bulb in the middle. Furthermore, now imagine 10 of those loops all in close proximity and you'll get some idea of the mess you end up with.

Update: I've raised this to two stars from one. The company promptly wrote me back and said they would offer a refund as well as review the description for accuracy

Im using them to decorate odd shaped bottles. I saw in a gift shop where they are being used in wine bottles, with a hold drilled in the bottom. You can do so much with these. The price is great.

I just recently bought this to "paint" a lot of glass bottles that I got at the local thrift store since I'm a collector of colored glass bottles. I prefer collecting real colored glass, i.e., cobalt glass, or red glass (which are my favorites) or yellow and even green glass. However, those items are either not being manufactured any more or are way too expensive. Since most of "colored" glass that is now being produced is actually "painted" or coated with a type of glass paint, I thought I'd try making my own since the ones I've bought in the past have had the "Paint" flake off, which annoyed me greatly since they seem to be charging as much for them as what I used to pay for REAL colored glass.

Anyhow, the product is as advertised. It is transparent and it does look like what you buy at the local stores. Cleanup is easy with soap and water. You can either use the nozzle on the bottle or a brush, but if you use a brush you need to use a soft watercolor-type brush to avoid a streaked look. (But don't use real expensive watercolor brushes!) The paint seems to go on easier if you use a brush, although you do get that gloppy, gloupy drippy look. So that's the positive aspects of this product.

The negative side: I did not like the fact that the product has a "nozzle" (sort of like what superglue has) instead of a "mini brush" on the end. I found that using the nozzle to paint on round bottles was a bit difficult. The paint tends to run and drip. I tried using it with a brush, and so long as you continue to paint the object without going back over where you have already painted, it's fine. I unfortunately discovered that if you go back over an area already painted before it dried completely, the previous area lifts up and so the object does not have a smooth glass-like finish, but has "lumps" and "bumps" which is clearly noticeable. If you're going for an "imitation" colored glass look, like I was, this is not a good thing.

Also, there was no instructions with this sample kit as to how long I should wait between coats, or whether I needed to heat treat it in an oven to "set" the color. There is another manufacturer (with much more expensive paint) which requires you to heat treat it and then it's microwave and dishwasher safe. For my purposes, since these bottles will probably never be washed or microwaved, I didn't care and this was really only an experiment to see if painting bottles with this product would allow me to "imitate" the look of real colored glass.

I also intend to experiment with using this glass stain to "paint" a scene on glass, so stay tuned to this "station" for further updates about this product as I experiment some more. :)

Maybe I was not using it the way it was intended, but I found it too runny to work with the way I wanted. The colors are beautiful and bright, and the bottles are easy to use. If the item were leaded and flat they would be perfect. Not what I was using them for.

I purchased this product to do a computer case mod on a clear acrylic case. It adheres fine to the material and the color is bright, clear, and a nice accent to the clear fans as I variegated red, yellow, and orange on the blades. The kit comes with yellow too, a plus since yellow isn't in the picture, so I didn't expect to get it. Light shows through it very nicely. It's like a cathedral glass effect. It adheres to transparency material as well, and I'm painting manga art for the sides of the computer.

I was looking to stain my globes for my oil lamps to match my living room and they can out perfect! It dries quickly so you have to work fast and also I think that if you are doing a project similar to mine, I would use a brush also.

I have a lot of complicated ,'adult' coloring books. Stuff like dragons and Indian Mandalas. I needed a good set of colored pencils, that did not cost an arm and a leg, to enjoy coloring these pictures. I find it helps with stress and keeps my creative juices flowing. The pencils blend well so the colors you can make are endless. To blend you can use an eraser, your fingers, put one color right on top of the other, my cat got into one project just by rubbing her nose and paw on a color she really liked.

I will advise to put the pencils in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you sharpen them, just like you would an eyeliner. You get a much sharper tip when the 'lead'? is icy cold. The box and plastic tray they came fell apart right away. But that's not why we buy colored pencils. As long as the price stays the same, I will buy them again.

When I ordered this sleeve for my gypsy, I was under the impression that it was going to be a protective cover, to help guard against any bumps or falls that the gypsy may take. However, once I opened the package I was surprised to see that this cover was a very thin silicone cover. However, there are some both pros and cons for this item.

PROS:

* The color is a cheerful bright pink with a white crown design.

* The silicone is very flexible and was no trouble to slip onto the gypsy

* The pink stylus is cute, and fits into securely into the stylus holder without wiggling around.

CONS:

* The white crown design looks like it is going to wear off quite easily

* The silicone sleeve is so thin it is not capable of protecting the gypsy against any drops, spills, or bumps.

* The enclosed screen protector is too large for the gypsy screen, and it is difficult to get it to onto the screen without air bubbles.

All in all, while I wish the sleeve was more substantial (in order to provide more protection) I am pleased with the color and look of the sleeve, as well as the ease of taking it off and on, and the pink stylus.

I received my Gypsy sleeve today and it's pretty much what I expected. It has a soft touch to it and it fits perfectly... Very simple and super cute. The only thing I don't like is the screen protector. It does NOT cover the entire screen and it's hard to get rid of the bubbles.

I was confused at first with this sketching pencil set because the description just says, "18 piece". But when it arrived at my house, I found that the set contains

4 very nice woodless graphite pencils, the 4 black ones you see in the photo. They're literally graphite with metal instead of wood. They draw very well.

You receive a rubber eraser as well as a rough eraser, which works only for the turquoise pencils. The rubber goes with all other pencils. The set includes a heavy duty

metal sharpener which means you probably shouldn't use any other sharpener for these utensils.

The whole set is a great find for me... If you're a fan of prismacolor colored pencils, you might be a fan of their sketching pencils as well. The company specializes

in colored pencils.. (prismaCOLOR) but do not be mistaken. The sketching pencils are a smart investment. I know I'm writing a buttload just about pencils, but

I have used Prismacolor color pencils for over ten years now and their markers for 3 years. I am an avid believer in the brand, which is what led me to try their graphite pencils.

Until I bought this set, I was using Derwent pencils. I am pleased to say, that Prismacolor has once again impressed me as one of the best brands out there. They are a bit more expensive than some others, but the quality is well worth it. I would have bought them sooner, but waited until my skills improved with the Derwent pencils, enough to make the jump to a better quality product more worth it. Buying This set was the best thing I could have done! It gives you everything you need to get started, if you are looking for a great quality set to start out with. You will have plenty to experiment with. It is also great for pro artists that want to delve into graphite on a more serious level and need all the goodies (erasers, sanding board, etc.). I am freelance, but have been an artist for over 14 years. Amazon's price is more than fair for this product. Unless there is a dramatic change in the quality of Prismacolor's products, I will be an advocate for them until the day I die.

The woodless graphite pencils (2B, 4B, 6B, 8B) are very soft and lay down wonderful "jet black" strokes. These are the best for getting high contrast work done fast and easy! Extremely dark areas don't take forever to build up (with lighter/harder grades), if you have these!

Out of the 7 turquoise pencils (8B,6B,2B,B,2H,4H,6H), I have used 2B, B, 2H and 4H. They have worked beautifully. I'm guessing I would say the same for the other grades.

I haven't yet tried any of the 3 water-soluble gray graphite pencils(HB,4B,8B), but am just about to. I will update this review when I do. They way things are going, I don't expect I'll be disappointed.

I found the "Magic Rub Eraser" (vinyl eraser, latex free) is perfect for graphite, but especially for erasing the lighter (harder) pencil grades. For the darker stuff, I switched to the good old kneaded rubber eraser. I'm always forming it into odd shapes to fit my highlighting needs and it sucks up dark graphite very well. I've also used this kind of eraser for pastel chalks and charcoal, so I knew what to expect. Prismacolor's version isn't any different than any other brand of kneaded eraser I've tried, but it is not anything less than expected.

The sanding board was a big plus in buying this set, for me. It is great for sanding your pencils to any shape you desire, giving you more leeway to produce the kind of line you want (I use it for the woodless pencils). I especially like to shape them flat, so I can get a very fine line holding it horizontally, or a nice thick line holding it vertically (or anything in between)!

I would also recommend only using the provided pencil sharpener, unless you know what you've got. If you have something of lesser quality and try it on these nice, soft pencils, you might be disappointed. I haven't tried any other sharpener, so don't take my word to the bank on that, but I would stick with what they give you unless you are a more experienced graphite user. This sharpener works perfectly well anyway.

I would recommend this to both professional artists and artists that want to get into graphite for the first time!

ColorBox Chalk Inks are my most favorite inks for rubber stamping. They easily ink up all stamps including silhouette clear stamps that many dye inks do not do such a great job with. The only drawback may be that this ink can stain the stamp which however does not affect the quality of the stamp, provided that the stamps are cleaned thoroughly with an appropriate stamp cleaner.

Buy Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Paint Tube 24-Piece Set

This is a great little kit for experimenting with acrylics. However the size of the tube is entirely too small, so I would avoid buying these if you're an art student but rather invest in larger tubes of the colours you absolutely NEED instead.

-They're okay when extended with medium. You have to use a lot of them in the medium to not lose the colour. I recommend using a professional medium with them if you can afford it. I definitely noticed a difference when I used Liquitex gel mediums vs Golden or Winsor & Newton.

-The pigment load is okay, but will not look "vibrant". Some of the colours are noticeably brighter than others when mixed with medium (Pthalo blue looks great for example, whereas primary yellow tends to look flat)

-They don't hold up to the test of time well, the lightfastness is not great but definitely better than other student grade paints.

I recommend these for:

-New painter

-Experimentation with new techniques

-Children/teenagers who wish to start painting in acrylic (do not gift medium with this kit, wait to see how they feel about the paints first)

I do not recommend these for:

-Art students and hobbyist painters (you need way more paint than this so just buy the bigger tubes and save money)

-Paintings you intend to give as a gift (or keep)

-Paintings you intend to sell

-Anyone past "student" level as these are student grade paints.

I bought this thread to sew cloth diapers because I had heard that its best to use 100% polyester thread to avoid wicking. Many diaper sewers online recommend Gutermann for the high quality over other brands. I do think this good quality thread, but I've yet to see why it is so much superior to other brands of 100% polyester all-purpose thread that are often a little cheaper. Anyway, the thread is good and I like the color.

The handel is very nice on these brushes. Very comfortable, and soft. Not like the hard feel of the wood handles. Brush seems well made and has a nice feel to it. I bought this to add to my brush collection for my watercolor paints. I will be buying more of this series for sure!
