I was able to create a path that fit exactly in the shape I wanted it to. I have a very curvy path running through my soon to be garden and the Pathmate fit perfectly. It was hard work but working with concrete just is. I mixed Terracotta color to the concrete and it took me three days to get it done. I love how the path came out and would recommended this product it to anyone. I uploaded some photos, have fun!

Quikrete WalkMaker Country Stone Pattern --

Creating a path in my side yard using the Country Stone pattern between two pre-existing concrete slabs presented a problem what to do if the area to be covered cannot be equally divided based upon the length of the WalkMaker form?

I formed the concrete path as per normal directions until I arrived at the final span to be covered by the Country Stone pattern.

The area remaining to be covered was short of the form's length. I measured the remaining walk at 14.75" I then placed the form on an adjacent area [not part of the walk.] I backfilled the form with mud from the available dirt in the area. The dimensions of the backfilled area matched the intersecting area between the form and the existing slab. I then filled the remaining spaces in the form with the normal concrete used for the walkway. I removed the form and touched-up the "stones." The concrete was allowed to cure overnight.

The following morning, I removed the mud and lifted the trucated stone pattern. Placing the "stones" in now-finished walkway allowed the pattern to abutt the slab in a natural manner.

I just recently bought this to "paint" a lot of glass bottles that I got at the local thrift store since I'm a collector of colored glass bottles. I prefer collecting real colored glass, i.e., cobalt glass, or red glass (which are my favorites) or yellow and even green glass. However, those items are either not being manufactured any more or are way too expensive. Since most of "colored" glass that is now being produced is actually "painted" or coated with a type of glass paint, I thought I'd try making my own since the ones I've bought in the past have had the "Paint" flake off, which annoyed me greatly since they seem to be charging as much for them as what I used to pay for REAL colored glass.

Anyhow, the product is as advertised. It is transparent and it does look like what you buy at the local stores. Cleanup is easy with soap and water. You can either use the nozzle on the bottle or a brush, but if you use a brush you need to use a soft watercolor-type brush to avoid a streaked look. (But don't use real expensive watercolor brushes!) The paint seems to go on easier if you use a brush, although you do get that gloppy, gloupy drippy look. So that's the positive aspects of this product.

The negative side: I did not like the fact that the product has a "nozzle" (sort of like what superglue has) instead of a "mini brush" on the end. I found that using the nozzle to paint on round bottles was a bit difficult. The paint tends to run and drip. I tried using it with a brush, and so long as you continue to paint the object without going back over where you have already painted, it's fine. I unfortunately discovered that if you go back over an area already painted before it dried completely, the previous area lifts up and so the object does not have a smooth glass-like finish, but has "lumps" and "bumps" which is clearly noticeable. If you're going for an "imitation" colored glass look, like I was, this is not a good thing.

Also, there was no instructions with this sample kit as to how long I should wait between coats, or whether I needed to heat treat it in an oven to "set" the color. There is another manufacturer (with much more expensive paint) which requires you to heat treat it and then it's microwave and dishwasher safe. For my purposes, since these bottles will probably never be washed or microwaved, I didn't care and this was really only an experiment to see if painting bottles with this product would allow me to "imitate" the look of real colored glass.

I also intend to experiment with using this glass stain to "paint" a scene on glass, so stay tuned to this "station" for further updates about this product as I experiment some more. :)

Maybe I was not using it the way it was intended, but I found it too runny to work with the way I wanted. The colors are beautiful and bright, and the bottles are easy to use. If the item were leaded and flat they would be perfect. Not what I was using them for.

I purchased this product to do a computer case mod on a clear acrylic case. It adheres fine to the material and the color is bright, clear, and a nice accent to the clear fans as I variegated red, yellow, and orange on the blades. The kit comes with yellow too, a plus since yellow isn't in the picture, so I didn't expect to get it. Light shows through it very nicely. It's like a cathedral glass effect. It adheres to transparency material as well, and I'm painting manga art for the sides of the computer.

I was looking to stain my globes for my oil lamps to match my living room and they can out perfect! It dries quickly so you have to work fast and also I think that if you are doing a project similar to mine, I would use a brush also.

We bought these paints when our child was 2 years old, and we still have the originals. They last a long time. The colors are bright, use is easy for little ones, and they are so much neater than fingerpaints. Our child does different kinds of art with these paints than she does with any other kind of paint or markers. She can "dot" the paint or use them somewhat like markers. She has even used paintbrushes to soak the paint from the tops and paint. I have never had trouble washing the regular Rainbow colors off kids or clothing; however, I have had trouble washing the fushcia florescent color of this paint out of a white cotton dress that my child played in for 2 hours after painting. Faint fuschia stains remain. I recommend washing off paint immediately after use, and putting clothing in water to soak or wash immediately after. The instructions say that the flourescent colors may stain.

My son uses these markers at daycare. He decided to put some red or pink on his head, and it has been over a week and no amount of shampoo, alcohol, lemon juice, or other things I've tried will get it out of his light blond hair. I think he has a permanent pink splotch that will have to grow out.

UPDATE:

The pink in his hair never washed out. It eventually grew out. Stay away from the red and pink colors.

These paints keep my almost 3-year-old son sitting in one place for up to an hour at a time, which pretty much nothing else will do. We bought the truck image book and we download pictures of his favorite characters, and then we make copies onto white cardstock and he has an unlimited supply of stuff to paint. We have never had any trouble getting any of the rainbow colors off of any piece of clothing or his skin or even the table that he paints on. Obviously, since they are paints you need to put a smock on your child and cover the table as well, but they are far less messy than usual paints. The tips to tend to rip a little if the paints are pulled across the paper instead of dotted. However, I contacted the company after one ripped and in an act of AMAZING customer service, they sent me replacement tips. Also, with all the fears about products made in China in the news lately, these are made in the USA. All of these qualities will keep us coming back.

These markers DO STAIN, especially the Magenta. My daughter is currently covered from elbows to fingertips and nothing will get it off. I was able to scrub it off my kitchen table with a lysol wipe. I don't have much hope for her shirt, though, and I wonder how long her arms will be stained pink. I don't recommend these for any age. Ink comes out really fast and keeps coming, making pools of staining liquid. Ugh.

These are basically oversized markers with flat, circular tips that kids can use to make dots and dot-based patterns.

While these are fun for children, they are messier than normal washable markers. The red, pink, purple, and florescent colors are difficult to remove from clothing and other surfaces.

You can create very interesting effects in your art pieces by adding rust. I have used casting material to form pieces such as a bust for a plaster form of when a friend was pregnant...her entire front was coated in saran wrap in some parts then Vaseline, then the plaster was applied from above the chest to below the belly. Once dried, we peeled it off. This made a permanent memento of this moment for an art piece she still has hung in her bedroom. I then coated the whole piece in copper and gold leaf. After that, I added the instant rust in some areas.

However, I have also brushed liquid copper onto art pieces and forms and then used this for effect. I have even done it on a canvas and under encaustic wax.

So I got this and since it needs pens I got those too. However, somewhere along the line I seem to have missed the mark because the refill pens don't fit into the airbrush as it should and now I have to tape them in for it to work. Such a drag, but the one that comes with it works. Otherwise its a nice system and does what it says it will. A bit noisy but that is to be expected. Amazon could warn you that a can of air is considered harmful. So it got stopped and I had to go thru an entire process. I gather this is normal so Anazon should know.

I ordered these zip lock bags for patterns because they measured 6x9" figured that a folded sheet of paper would fit perfectly inside. Well the bags do measure 6x9, but that is the measurement from edge to edge. The portion of the bag below the zip line is just a fraction short of 8.5" in length so a folded sheet of paper does not fit neatly. Have no issue with the bags, they are excellent quality and a nice weight and would reorder again in a different size. The bags are very good quality, just keep in mind that the measurement is from edge to edge, not bottom to zip.

Ordered these bags to use with catalogs have always ordered 6x9 bags and they work perfect until these. The 6x9 measurement is not the size of the bag you can use, it also includes the zipper part that is unusable. So the real size of these bags is 6 x 7 3/4...

I don't know if they were pulled from the wrong, bin, mislabelled, or what, but the bags I received were not 2 mil in thickness, but one. Extremely flimsy with a flimsy zip lock. Not suitable for repeat use. I am returning them.

This is a wonderful way to try your hand at encaustic painting without a huge investment. If I have one recomendation, however, I would recommend it come with additional pans for the wax. Two just aren't enough.

These jellybean colors are very saturated and are a very good variety. I was hoping I could use these to color the MindWare coloring books. While I think they are very well made and worth the cost, they do not suit my intended use. The points are too large for the intricate designs and they saturate the paper too much. Surely I will come across a use for these but I did not find them conducive to coloring.
