I bought this little watercolor set when I was going to go on a study abroad trip and a small watercolor set was a recommendation. I decided to buy this one because it had several trays that could expand the set, it had a little thumb holder so you didn't have to balance the set on your knee or anything, and it had 12 colors 6 felt like too many and anything with more than 12 colors felt enormous and I wouldn't want to pack it around.

This set did me well and I still use it at home for my watercolors.

The only reason I give it four stars and not five is that I've found that while the thumb loop (the blue, rubbery part of the case when you look at it from the outside) is handy and a great idea, it's only really useful if you hold your hand like you would if you were holding a glass palette (palm up, thumb across palm) while I really wanted to hold the set on my thumb while I gripped the side of my sketch book for stability. While it worked when I used the set this way, it did cause the palette to tilt a lot and it doesn't lay flat in that configuration so I ketp accidentally spilling the washed out of the mixing pans.

I also never used the expandable trays when I was working in the field. They ended up being somewhat cumbersome with the way I worked, but at home it's great to have the removable trays to work from.

I was very impressed by the quality of the gems I received. They were clean, well cut, good color, no occlusions to naked eye. The majority were over 1 carat in size and there were none of the 0.10-0.15 ct. that are useless to me. My only complaint is that there was very little variety in the type of gems. I will still give them another 2-3 tries to see if that improves since so many other factors were excellent.

Cheap Jacquard Products - Tee-Juice Fabric Markers

I bought these to color large sections of a unitard. They did the job, but it took so long (3 hours) that I eventually cut the plastic and used a paintbrush with the ink. The tip of these markers really limit the amount of ink that comes out, which is good if your project calls for adding little by little. But mine didn't. They were more efficient than Sharpies, but still not efficient enough for my project. The order was fast and shipping came as expected.

This pen works on fabric, but I would have liked the tip to be more pen-like. It is more like a bingo stamper round dot end. Otherwise, it worked out for my project, though had I needed to write smaller or have more precision it wouldn't have my letters were approximately 2-3 inches tall.

Maybe it's just me but using this was a little tricky! I had this ink running all over the place. I probably should have gotten the "pen" style instead of the broad opening marker for what I wanted to do, but that's my fault and not the product! Would be good for a large not-very-detailed design maybe. Very juicy, lives up to its name haha Marker is very well pigmented, easy to use, and a good size for the price. I would recommend this to someone if they needed fabric paint.

I bought these in a moment of desperation wanting to try some designingvashti tunisian patterns that called for larger hooks and having searched high and low for some aluminum tunisian (afghan) hooks in larger sizes (i really cannot stand using bamboo)...I am very surprised to be saying that I REALLY like these hooks! I have just starting using the 9.0mm with some wool and the yarn is sliding so nicely-ZERO drag (>gasp!< definitely NOT my previous experience with plastic hooks) It has a generous 14" length and i love the shape of the head, which is tapered and pointy (easy to work with). The hook feels nice and light in my hands, but sturdy at the same time. I highly recommend these!

I agree with the first review, nice product at a good price. I have had a very hard time finding these larger hooks, the only other ones I found were bamboo (I hate them) and a hard wood that was way too expensive, one hook cost more than this set. I usually prefer metal hooks but these work well and the shape of the tip is nice. Now if I could find some double ended in the larger sizes (not bamboo) I would have everything I could ever need.

These came on time and work very well. They are light and easy to handle. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that one of the hooks had a little sharp piece of plastic sticking out that caught the yarn. I'm sure I could have had it replaced but it was easy to just file it down with a nail file and now it's fine. I can do the basic Tunisian stitch but need to get a book with other stitches.

Do not believe the photo or the description. The tubes in this kit are 27ml, not 2oz, and they are not the Heavy Body acrylic as advertised, but rather Liquitex's Basic paint. You are paying more for smaller amounts of cheaper quality paint. Buyer beware.

Considering the size of the tubes (22ml) one would imagine that they would be full. I was quite disappointed to find that they were not as advertised in that they were semi full, and do not in fact hold 22ml of paint. The color quality was good and rich, but they are not air sealed as most paints are with a thin foil-like seal. The tops of mine seem to have been exposed to air during production and are semi dry on the surface. Also, it is NOT Heavy Body acrylic as they advertise it, but is part of the Liquitex's Basic paint 'family.'

The size discrepancy in terms of what the seller posted them to be and what they actually are is quite significant. Buyer beware.

When a 12-year-old asks for an acrylic paint set and you know nothing about art what do you do? We took a gamble on this set and we were very pleased in the product! We recently had a artist family member look over the set and were even more pleased when he reported all desired pieces were included and of good quality. For a younger person or a beginner, this set is ideal because a variety of colors are included without having to mix them yourself. Also, the paints are in smaller quantities which means a large quantity of paint won't dry out when a 12-year-old forgets to put the lid on tight enough :-) . The brushes are good quality and clean up well. The two (very) small canvases included are a good touch to allow the beginner to experiment before purchasing a large canvas. We did need to glue one of the white trays back into the case, but nothing drastic.

For the Big Kids Too: Most of the reviews were for purchases made for kids, well I'm a big kid (32) & this set is perfect for me! Definitely not just for younger artists. My 9 year old son gave me this for Christmas (finally going to try my hand at painting) & I love it! The year was 1956, and I tore up some of my mother's magazines and created my first collage. It depicted St. Francis feeding some doves, and the paper was adhered to the cardboard from a shirt package with Elmer's Glue-All. The little saint did not survive my many travels, but several pieces from the early '60 are alive and well, without a single piece of paper unglued, thanks to Elmer's. Elmer's is the only product I know of that has never introduced a "New and Improved" version of itself, because the formula is perfect, and cannot be bettered.

My work since that first effort has evolved and become much more elaborate, but the glue remains the same. The only time that I experimented and tried a different product turned out to be disastrous. I have used Elmer's for thousands of collages, most of them using paper, but also petals and leaves, and fabric. I own a piece I did in 1983 constructed of lettuce leaves and hibiscus petals, with Elmer's doing its duty and keeping it as good as it looked 22 years ago.

Elmer's Glue-All "Dries Strong, Dries Clear," and is "Safe, Non-Toxic." It has a very faint smell that is barely perceptible and not unpleasant, and is water-soluble, and can be used on porous materials (paper, cloth), and semi-porous (wood, pottery). Buy it by the gallon, or by the 4 OZ. container, and you will find that Elmer's does the job, and passes the test of time.

Elmer's Glue All is much, much better than Elmer's Washable No Run School Glue, 4 oz. (E304). It is more tacky has a stronger hold. It works especially well on paper, but it glues other substrates, also. The other day, I used it to glue plastic and Mylar together. Elmer's Glue All comes out opaque white, but it dries clear. That was important, because the plastic was clear, and I didn't want a white mess. The two pieces are still holding together.

I tend to use different glues for different applications (wood glue for wood, glue sticks for paper, etc.). When I am in need of glue and nothing else is available to suit my needs (or maybe I'm just plain out of other glues), I always have Elmer's Glue All on hand to the rescue. It usually does the trick.

These worked out well for me. I wanted to paint flowers on a black glazed plant pot. I don't know a lot about paints. I used my other acrylic paints the first time around and the flowers came right off when I scraped with my nail. I decided on these paints because I looked around and they are supposed to work on the glazed surface I wanted to paint. I painted the flowers and let it cure like you are supposed to. After about a month I tested the paint to see if it would scrape off. I scraped with my nail and the paint stayed on. The paint is on there for good, no worries about paint chipping off. The colors are nice except the purple is not bright and I wish it had included a yellow. I had to buy the yellow separate.

I ordered this to make ornaments for my daughters, but I had a harder time sorting the colors than I thought. For instance, "palest coral" and "pale coral" are incredibly similar in color to "light peach." Some colors were barely distinguishable ("charcoal" and "dark grey") and even second opinions didn't help.

Some colors seemed to be missing while the kit included colors that weren't listed (6 yards of cream, not to be confused with 22 yards of white). The material seems to be an end piece, so I hope there is enough to make all the ornaments without having to buy any more.

The instructions don't include the assembly step (and there are no materials for hanging the ornaments...no ribbon, string, duct tape, anything).

It would probably be easier to buy the kits for individual ornaments.

The color numbers are not all from the same manufacturer so trying to figure out what is meant to go where is a royal pain. I finally decided that I'd just chose colors on a per design basis and not worry about it. The patterns themselves look fine.
