I purchased a Twilight Ink Pad over 20 years ago, and I just found it again. I tried to use it.. and to my AMAZEMENT it still was saturated with ink, not dried up AT ALL! Twilight Ink Pads are defiantly worth your money. Only thing that happened was that the outer layer crumbled like wet paper.. scrape it off & you still have plenty of ink to use!

I'm only giving this 4 stars because I haven't really used it much yet because I haven't worked with thread in a bit.

there are no plastic parts. If you like working with thread but have a hard time handling the tiny hooks this could be your answer. The handle is a G size and the ends fit on and you screw a cover over them to hold them in place. This is the full range of steel hooks.

It comes in a very nice case with heavy protective foam that the hook ends fit into individually along with the handle. The case zippers closed and has a strap for holding on to. The individual hook ends are numbered but it is hard to see so don't let them loose their space in the case. Also the cap that holds the ends to the handle is removable and not large at all so could be easy to loose.

*Want to add an update. I have used this set extensively and really enjoy it. the coupler that holds the ends in does loosen up frequently but my finger is right there and it's easy for me to quick tighten it as I work. It would be nice if this had a sort of small gasket to help hold the coupler on but I still really enjoy using this set.

It is a very clever idea one handle with replaceable heads however it does not have a good mechanism. The heads have to be screwed in, and no matter how tightly I screwed them in, they would always come undone while I was working on a project. The hook heads themselves are fantastic, but every 3 minutes I would have to stop and re-tighten the head onto the handle. I have sent the company an email almost a year ago now, and I still have not received a response from them. I ended up buying regular crochet hooks I feel as though I just wasted money on this product. I'm very disappointed with the product and the poor customer care.

P.S it seems like the best reviews are a result of the amount of hooks in the set and not how well they function.

I love this set. But as others have mentioned the screw mechanism does untighten over time. I have found if you cut a small piece of doily thread and insert it around the handle where the screw mechanism screws to the handle so the thread is under the screw mechanism and then tighten the screw down normally with the thread inside between the handle and the screw pin this keeps the screw from untightening. I hope everyone understands what I mean. The small amount of thread must be held in place between the screw mechanism and the handle mine usually lies inside the grooves of the handle where the screw mechanism is screwed down. This holds the screw in place and you don't have to continue to tighten it every few minutes.

This is a great item if you know someone who is serious about crochet. First of all, it has the hooks that are very hard to find on an individual basis. If you are into making doilies or doing any kind of thread crochet, this is definately the set for you. I got it here on Amazon at a great price. I saw the same set at Joann's Fabrics for $30. I got it here for half that price and it has been worth every penny.

I purchased this product to get some basic art supplies when I took up drawing. The supplies have all worked well, but the case was not very durable, and actually was falling apart in places. A little glue corrected the problem.

All the items in the box are wonderful. It is quite a good set for a beginner. It will supply the beginner with most everything they need.

The box was the main draw back for me. It's not very well made. The little plastic thing that the stuff is supposed to 'click' into doesn't hold the items very well. I kept trying to close it and had the items falling out of their slots and getting caught between other things.

The box had a crack around a knothole in the side. Looking at the paint job led me to believe that the knot hole had been ignored. No attempt at putting any wood putty around the knot hole or in the crack had been done. I'm not sure how the box would hold up to long term or heavy use.

This product is like many have said, it is either a hit or a miss with how lucky you are to the state of the contents inside the box. I wanted to like this product, I did, but after having used the pencils. I just could not. And I knew it even when I had purchased this product that these would not be state of the art pencils, but it would have been nice if they did not completely skimp on them. Of the entire set of graphite pencils, maybe three worked well, they all sharpen horribly, which reduced me to using an ancient method of using a razor blade. Which I must say although it works great, I am not particularly a fan of sharp metal... I was one of the lucky few to find nothing broken, at least until I was attempting to get things out of the god forsaken case. It was a cheap plastic crate that held in the contents, which it does a good job of, don't get me wrong, but boy oh boy does it make it a pain in the behind to get the contents out. I snapped the handle part on the mini sandboard paper, and even though I am a bigger guy, it should not be so ridiculously sad of build quality that it snaps prying it from the depths of cheap haven. To the box itself, it is like others have said, it is very cheap, it does what I want, which is hold things in there. I can not say how nice it is to not carry 10 zip lock bags around looking like a crazy cat lady or drug dealer for art supplies. But thats where the good stops, it smelt fresh of paint, which is appalling in the least. You could actually tell they painted this thing before they sent it to me, which although it may have provide a sense of "your own little case" it does not because of the build quality. Granted my case has not been as bad as others, and maybe after not having purchased an art case of pencils for so long I was expecting too much, but if I had known that the build quality, the materials quality (especially that god awful crap kneaded eraser), and overall dismay was that bad, I would have saved 26.50 and put together a more expensive, and granted smaller package of art supplies. The only thing this case has going for it is that it hold things well. I do not do this often because I try to be nice, but boy oh boy, avoid this thing like the plague, it will only hinder your art ability, your wallet, and your sense of faith in art products online.

For the bad quality of some of the pencils! i wouldn't recommend this product to advance drawers because it a pain the a** to sharpen a pencil every 2 minutes but i do recommend this set only to beginners because it comes with the basic tools and can be use to develop their ability.

These folders make very pretty cards and tags. I used a ink resist technique and added some glitter and the cards were stunning. These make for very fast cards, which is always important for those times you are walking out the door and realize you forgot to make the card! I purchased these tools for our yearly pumpkin carving contest. I was looking for ribbon tools to be specific and this set had the best price and was Prime eligible.

The metal poker worked great for stencil outlining. Just be sure to make a deep hole otherwise you can get lost later on.

The metal ribbon tools worked wonders. They are not strong enough to puncture the skin of the pumpkin, but if you cut an outline first of the shape (fire in my case) it is extremely easy to shave into the pumpkin.

I spent ~4 hours on this years pumpkin and they should hold up until next season. I recommend.

It tends to collect lint and dust though due to the velvety texture, so use tape or a roller before photographing!

First i'd probably point out that these are not traditional Chinese brushes, though they look like they are. These are much more resilient than a traditional Chinese natural hair brush. They snap back to their original shape, more like an American round watercolor brush, only even more resilient, but still very soft. The point is excellent for drawing a lively line. You get very nice thin and thick according to pressure. Perfect for a sketch book with light washes, and great for travel. I have clear water in one and ink or watercolor in the other so that i can draw and wash.

Another important thing that might be obvious: To load the brush, screw the plunger all the way down toward the brush. immerse in ink or water color deep enough to cover the the brush, and retract screw plunger. it will vacuum your medium into the container, much like a classic ink pen with a plunger well.

The only thing i don't know is how long one could go without use. Drying with ink would, obviously, be detrimental to the brush. The cap seems to fit tightly, but it is not a watertight seal, so i can't comment on that, but i'm wondering about it. i've only been using them a short time.

This fountain pen-like product is excellent for traveling with a small sketch book such as the plain page Moleskine. You should know that a lot of DaVinci sketches you see printed were really quite small. You can make a quick sketch lightly outlining with dry Derwent Burnt Sienna, raw Sienna, and Umber pencils from your pocket. Then shade your sketch-or erase and blot --with the water in the waterbrush to give a DaVinci-like shaded picture, max 3-4 values. The point of the brush is surprisingly fine. If you want to get a little fancier, after the sketch has dried, also carry a white Caran D'Ach crayon to emphasize the high lights--bridge of the nose, cheek bones, edge of the ear, etc. No need to carry a whole art box, and very little time to hold up a partner or tour party. I find my quicker sketches are the best. With the waterbrush I can also pay attention to folds of clothing. If you prefer pure black and white, carry an ordinary fountain pen with black ink, outline, let it dry (depending on the effect you want), then shade with the waterbrush. Like the end result? Photo it, blow it up, mat and frame.

These brushes are available separately from Blue Heron Arts, and I just bought the smallest one. The brush is nice and comes to a fine point, but the cap's fit is loose and wobbly, and the brush pen itself seems rather fragile.

This pen works well. Simple to fill with a simple mechanism. The cap however does not seal the pen thoroughly. It seals it only adequately. As a consequence, the tip can dry out within a day. not dry out solid mind you but enough where you spend a lot of time getting the ink to flow. I figured i would just use a brush and ink from now on. This pen is handy if you don't have a brush?

These brush pens are great, I love having a real brush & ink in my pocket at all times. The caps to these pens dont seal quite the way I'd like (theres no stopping point, you can push the cap down until the brush hits the top of the cap), but I have yet to have a problem with it.

I was looking for a beginning oil pastels set for my son, who is four. I didn't want a set that would break the bank, and preferred a set that had wrapping around the pastels so his hands wouldn't instantly get messy. These fit the bill.

I have to say, the quality of the colors and the smoothness with which the oil pastels glide along the paper is fantastic. They feel nice to use, leave great colors on the paper, and have a wide array of colors.

The con to these, however, is that they are quite thin and small, and we have broken several of them just through everyday use. I'm not sure I would buy them again, but I do feel like for a first set this was a worthwhile purchase.

these pastels are great! i have the 25 pack and this pack. the colors are vibrant and so gorgeous, and blends really well. these are more for beginner artists though if you ask me. definitely something for ages 9 and up. this is an amazing product, but if you are a very serious artist you may want something else.

I love using these chalks in my art journals and altered books, to add depth to the designs and collage. I also like the fact that once applied, they don't smear like some chalks and pastels I have used in the past. The only drawback is that the applicators wear out quickly. I am having a bit of better luck using cotton swabs when the area is large enough. I have also resorted to eye shadow applicators!
