If you're into "shabby chic," these folders are for you.

They both produce worn-looking textured patterns; one, a "dots" design, and the other a "woven wire" pattern.

I've used these to texture printed designs to give them an older "antiqued" look, and also used them as backdrops for a layered card design, lightly sanded to bring out the texture.

My embossing machine is a Sizzix, so these work just fine, but they should work perfectly OK in any die-cutting/embossing machine that can handle the standard plastic embossing folder.

My daughter enjoyed the paints and the roller, but the plastic tray is so flimsy that it bends and breaks immediately. Also, there is not a lot of paint in each little paint cup. The apron/smock is of such thin and flimsy material that it's a joke. Don't waste your money.

I had to write a review after reading the only other one on here. My son got this for Christmas a few months before he turned three and we've used it many times in the 6 months since. It's always a big hit! The plastic tray is slightly flimsy, but it's held up with my rough and tumble three-year old boy and multiple washings. He loves blue, so that paint is getting a little low, but I plan on just refilling the little container because it's so handy having it all together. It think it's a great set for not a lot of money.

I bought this set for my daughter when she was 3 1/2 years old. In the 8 or 9 months since i bought it, she has made great use of it and has had a lot of fun. However, the build quality is terrible. The tray is a joke, made of cheap thin plastic that bends and breaks at the seams. The apron makes the tray look like it's good quality. I don't expect it to last much longer. it's a shame, such a great idea executed so poorly.

As for the cost, I bought it at a local toy store for more than amazon, but I don't think even the amazon price is a good deal for this quality.

I have visits from great nieces, nephews, granddaughters, friends...what do you do with kids when the weather's bad and you'd prefer they do something other than sit in front of the TV set all day?

I give them paper, crayons, pencils and receive drawings for my fridge, help them make cards for Mom and Dad or just draw for the fun of it. I watch the small kids learn to write and control themselves with color crayons and finally "draw".

A much better investment than a TV, movies and a lot more fun!

These markers work just as advertised. They are nice and juicy for straight image colouring, but they also work well for watercolour applications, blending, and more mixed media applications. Bought this stamping set at my local Michaels for 50% off ($34.99CAD without a coupon). Wanted to give metal stamping a try and this was the only brand available for in-store purchase. The set works, but I was surprised that for such a hefty price tag, it was made in China.

Opened the packaging to find that although the metal stamps were greased, there were still a couple of rusted letters and some random foliage (old leafs?) as a bonus.

This isn't so much a paint as a wash. The glitter is fabulously sparkly, but it certainly looks nothing like the pictureie it made my project slightly blue (and as mentioned, glittery) but not a solid color. Great if you wanted to tint something already painted. Not good if you want to actually paint with it.

Color is pretty true to the picture--it's like a dark red berry color. I'm disappointed because I wanted to paint a little wooden initial, but the coverage is really bad. It's not so much paint as it is glitter--so when it goes on the wood it does not really color the wood, just puts glitter on top of it. I'm going to have to buy a paint base, and then glitter over it. All of a sudden my little DIY project is costing way much more than it should!

I wasted my money on this set of paints. It looked beautiful and sounded simple --NOT! It is VERY difficult to work with. The paint dries quickly and leaves clumps, not the pretty little translucent "waves" shown on the package. Several coats later it still looked so bad that I had to throw it away.

If you really want to paint on glass buy enamel paints.

The colors were nice and easy to apply. My only complaint is that the black paint comes out a little "gloopy" and is hard to make even lines with. I will be the first to admit that I dont exactly have the hands of a surgeon but it should have been a little easier than it was.

I bought this specifically to do one type of dry embossing called "Parchamore Stencil Set Butterfly" made for the mini shape boss that utilizes vellum. It is not just dry embossing but also incorporated a 3rd sheet in the set that allows you to partially prick the vellum. When you dry emboss vellum it makes a interesting whitish mark and the dots you prick add a nice texture. you can purchase all through Amazon.com. You also can buy (it comes with one free one inside)regular stencils for the mini that you can use card stock with and those just dry emboss as usual. The instructions that came in it were very explanatory even if you had never used the bigger shape boss or even never dry embossed before so I am not sure what the other reviewer experienced.

The two cons on this product: there are not enough different stencils(there are only 3 of the Parchamore type I have been able to find) to purchase and secondly it can be hard on the hands as there is not much place to rest you hand and it is to thick to rest on the table so you hand is left up in the air as you work.

As to the price I agree it is too pricey here on amazon at this time. It was much cheaper when I purchased mine. However please don't give a good product a low star because you felt you were gouged, take that up with Amazon. There seems to be a trend lately where the prices here have gone up out of all proportion on many items.

I love using these chalks in my art journals and altered books, to add depth to the designs and collage. I also like the fact that once applied, they don't smear like some chalks and pastels I have used in the past. The only drawback is that the applicators wear out quickly. I am having a bit of better luck using cotton swabs when the area is large enough. I have also resorted to eye shadow applicators!

This is my first sewing machine, the first time I've used one. I love it, and hate to see it's rating so low due to reports of bobbin jamming. None of the 3 complaints mentioned that they even attempted to adjust the upper or lower tension adjustments. My machine jammed up the first time I used it but I read the instructions and adjusted the tensionsproblem solved. Adjusting the lower bobbin tension is a touchy feely operation, but not hard to do. From the instructions"To test the bobbin thread tension, remove the bobbin case and bobbin and hold it by suspending it by the thread. Jerk it once or twice. If the tension is correct, the thread will unwind by about an inch or two. If the tension is too tight, it does not unwind at all. If the tension is too loose, it will drop too much. To adjust, turn the small screw on the side of the bobbin case." There is a screwdriver included to make this adjustment. It clamps the thread, so a thicker or thinner thread could mean an adjustment is necessary. Mine needed to be loosened for the first spool of thread I used. This bobbin case is polished stainless steel, so it's not wearing out soon. I guess the screw might get loose someday, my local Jo-Ann fabric store sells new complete bobbin cases for $2.99. The upper thread tension dial requires a lot of adjustment depending on the work. A sewing machine isn't a hair dryer. They are complex weird monsters and there is a learning curve, no way around it. You've got to tune em like a guitar. This machine is heavy and stable and has a pleasant look and feel. It disturbs me there is no inclusion of oil or lubrication instructons. I doubt it's never necessary, so I got a tube of Official Singer Oil, a very thick oil with a look and smell like melted butter. I recomend it. I've only had my 2250 for a week. 5 stars so far.

My wife needed a simple basic sewing machine to repair and make adjustments to our clothes. We decided on this model based on the low price and the Singer name. As we understand there are more Singer machines in service than all other brands together.

We found the DVD that came with the machine very helpful and between that and the owner's manual the setup was easy. Since then she is using it from time to time and, as it fulfills all our needs at an affordable price, we must give it a high rating.

We would have hated to pay more for a sewing machine with more features that we were not going to use. This is a good reliable machine that fulfills our need for simplicity and ease of operation.

Like most of you here I bought this machine at Target when it was on sale. I run my own clothing and accessories line and use my machine about 5 days a week for hours on end. So when my old singer from the 70s finally gave out, I wanted to just pick up a "cheap, temporary" machine that would get me through the season I was in. Little did I know that I'd be happy with this machine and continue to use it for the next two years without so much as any issue (and never even had it serviced or anything). I also teach a sewing class and MANY of my students have purchased this particular machine to learn on... again, without any issues (we're talking a dozen or more total beginners here). I find it VERY odd that this machine should receive so many horrible reviews... almost all of them citing a bobbin issue. If you are used to a machine that has a top-loading bobbin (the bobbin drops down simply into the throat plate) then you will need to understand that this bobbin installs differently. Whereas a top-loading bobbin will be placed into the machine in the shape of a "P" (with the thread going off to the left of the bobbin like the shape of the letter P), this type of bottom-loading bobbin needs to be inserted into the opening in the bobbin case (the metal housing you remove to replace the bobbin) in the shape of a "q"... with the thread going off to the right of the bobbin itself. Also, you must ensure that the small arm of the bobbin case points to the sky and almost "clicks" into place (into the groove that it's meant for) when you insert it. And that the bobbin thread comes completely through the tension area in the bobbin case and snaps "into" the hole in the side of the case, pulling almost freely with just a smidge of tension on the thread as it's being pulled. Just wanted to give a few pointers in case anyone is having a hard time with this.

However, I only give this machine 4 stars because it does NOT come with a zipper foot. Never in my life have I ever heard of such a thing. It comes with all kind of necessary accessories but NO zipper foot. If you plan to install any zippers be sure to pick up a standard Singer zipper foot at a sewing store to accommodate you.

We got this sewing machine as a x-mas present and were very excited to begin sewing. It was great to start with...for like the first 6 hours. The DVD was helpful, and it had the basics for what you need to get started. Of course I found sewing to be extremely easy, so in the spirit of D.I.Y. I started sewing like a mad man.

Well...wouldn't you know that after a short while the bobbin kept jamming. As a child I never remember this happening to my mom, and when I called her with the problem she agreed. I took apart the whole assemble, lubed it up, cleaned it...worked for a bit and then jammed even worse. I've never heard of such a thing....this is a total bummer.

I think I got a lemon, but regardless, we out grew this machine literally within hours. We've decided to return it and upgrade to the Brother computerized 60 stitch. We're very excited about it.

I have had this machine for about a year. It was given to me brand new as a gift. It worked great at first but then, like so many reviews I have read, the bobbin started jamming and the thread starting looping. I think this machine would be good for someone who will rarely use it. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who sews often or who sews anything tougher than tissue. It got to the point where I had to take it apart every five minutes to unjam the bobbin. This machine is not worth the trouble!
