This little pen is such a great decorating tool. I love that you can make your own decorative pearls of pretty much any size. You need to let it dry for about 15 minutes before touching and let it cure overnight before stacking. This little pen goes a looonnnng way. It saves trying to pull tiny adhesive backed pearl dots and trying to place them without them sticking to your fingers. I especially love the light blue for beach layouts and the pearl white is my most used. A handy tip is that if you choose, you may create pearl dots on wax paper and let dry to peel and use at a later date.

I have to start by saying that I'm very picky about what types of die cuts I purchase. This is all mostly due to the fact that I have a distinct style and if I can't imagine myself using a die, then I simply won't buy it. However, this was a special release from Spellbinders because it is not only very affordable, but truly versatile. This set I purchased to make masks for my art (like the Tim Holtz ones). This actually works really well for that idea alone. Purchasing one mask set from Tim Holtz is about five dollars on the internet. Purchasing this template set is a better deal. You get more shapes and when your mask is ruined, simply cut it out again. Of course, this doesn't mean I won't use these for decoration too, because I definitely will. This adds a beautiful old fashioned flourish to any piece and if you especially like altered art, florals or anything Victorian, then this set is a must have.

There is only truly one con with this set altogether; it is hard to cut. I own the Sizzix Big Shot and I rolled it through twice and it doesn't cut it perfectly. Since the flourishes have a lot of intricate loops and swirls, the paper and the die tend to get tangled and then mangled when you try to pop them apart. I recommend using the tip of an embossing stylus to get the paper loose. However, I'm not very happy that it takes a lot of effort to get the paper out. This template only really works with cardstock and the heavier weight the better. I tried these with 65lb cardstock and got pretty good results; 110lb or 120lb would be ideal, but tell that to the local arts and crafts stores (as they don't sell any). Anything less than you average 65lb cardstock, it will get ripped by the template when you are pulling them apart.

All in all this is a minor glitch and I suspect that with enough use, I will get used to taking it apart. I remember I had this problem with other dies that were too intricate. I did get plenty of use out of them and I also got some great results. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this set again because the design is very beautiful and definitely eye candy.

I absolutely LOVE the swirls these dies make! They are just big enough for A2 (4x6) size cards! They are gorgeous on spellbinders 3-D boxes! I made a 192 cards for a women's event at church and put these swirls on every cardI cut them from glittery paper. They were gorgeous and added the elegance the cards needed! :) I used a set of crafting tweezers to help get the papercut out of the diesometimes they stick after cutting, its not a problem if you are careful, or as spellbinders recommends, use wax paper between the paper and the die. Unlike all our other similar Melissa and Doug kits...this one is for kids OVER 8. The paint is a more dodgy acrylic of some kind and is a disaster for 4-6 year olds. I didn't read the age guide on-line. This is one of their only figurine painting kits that is not recommended for kids under 8....kinda silly since so many young kids are in to dinosaurs.

I have seen a lot of reviews on these pens. Almost everyone agrees that they are wonderful pens and that they last for years. A lot of people continue to complain about cleaning the pens, and about the fragility of the tip of the pen (you can bend the wire inside the tip if you aren't careful while cleaning it, rendering the pen useless).

I've only been using Radiograph pens for three years now, but I use them constantly. I draw with them and, for the past two years, I have used them to take hundreds of pages of notes in class. I write with them instead of using regular pens. Using these pens requires a somewhat gentle hand. If you don't use them properly, you are likely to break them and you will wear them down very quickly.

As far as claims in other reviews that the pens stop working or that the ink clogs constantly I have not ever had a problem with this.

If you leave ink in the pens and you do not use them for a number of months, you will have to clean the pens. (This is true of any pen that takes a thicker, more potent ink.) This involves careful disassembly. Cleaning these pens is very similar to trying to clean older calligraphy pens you're bound to have ink all over your hands for a day or two, but, if you are patient, you can clean them completely and they are as good as new.

The lines are uniform in color and constant. The pens work well in controlling the flow of ink, and they do not bleed when you are writing with them. If you shake them a lot, ink will splatter everywhere, like a calligraphy pen with an open nib, but everyday wear and tear won't cause the pen to explode (in a purse or backpack), if you want to carry it around. If the ink flow stops for a moment, you simply need to gently shake the pen to allow more ink to flow to the tip, and it will continue to write (taking the pens apart will allow you to understand exactly how the ink is distributed in the pens but be careful when taking out the tip!)

The pens are reliable and they perform beautifully.

These are the best (really only) pens if you want a precise line. They are great for contour drawings, cross hatching, and I like to write little notes with them. The precision of the line lends an austere gravity to little notes.

You have to draw relatively slowly or they skip, so if you draw with a gesture don't bother. They work a little like a fountain pen, and ink wells up into the tube that you draw from, so if you touch the area just above the drawing tube you are likely to get ink on you hands. I like the closeness with the materials, but you might not. These are for a serious draftsperson and not a hobbiest.

I've been using Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pens for over two decades. They are one of the most reliable brands on the market if you clean them regularly and follow the simple instructions included for maintenance, they will last for years. I replace mine about once every six years. These pens produce a clean, uniform line which is excellent for crosshatching, stipple drawing and pointillism, and great for general sketching. The ink is water soluble, which allows for some nice wash effects when necessary.

I've been using Rapidograph-type technical pens to write and draw in my ever-present notebooks for over 40 years. I imagine it helps that I'm left-handed, I naturally write with my pen in a vertical position, and I make notes with mind maps and drawings. This Rapidograph pen is the highest-quality technical pen that I've yet seen and I could never find a more-enjoyable pen to write with over all these years to write and draw with than a technical pen. I've tried...as the manual filling of the ink cartridges is messy, even after doing it hundreds of times. I've personally found that the pre-filled replacement ink cartridges too expensive compared to filling the pens manually.

I have 2 issues with this pen and the pen set. The first is that the ink cartridge reservoir is less than half the size of all the other technical pens that I've previously used. Maybe Rapidograph believes that these technical pens are now only used for short work periods and then are put away. That would help waste less ink when the ink dries up and the pen needs to be cleaned to unblock it. It's not my case though, as I use it all the time...even though they dry up if I don't use them for a week and I have to clean them again. The second issue is that I would have liked to buy a double-pen set with 0 (0.35mm) and 1 (0.5mm) pen sizes at an attractive price rather than this 7-pen set.

I have a bit of the carpal tunnel problem, so I went searching for the best hook for my hands, and i tried Addi Swing, Tulip Etimo, and Clover Soft Touch, and I have to say, that Addi Swing was the worst hook not just from these, but even worse than regular cheap hooks, because it started hurting my left hand thumb just after a few stitches by weighing heavily on it. I am using pencil hold, maybe if you use knife hold that would be less of the problem. Tulip Etimo was in the middle for mepretty comfortable, but the ridges on the handle are kind of sharp and after a while don't feel good. Clover Soft Touch is a winner for my hands with pencil hold. My review doesn't mean, that you shouldn't try one maybe it will feel different for you.

Bought one of these for a friend who is having serious hand problems but has been an avid crocheter most of her life. As I also crochet, I tried it before I gave it to her and found for me it was too long and the shape was wrong for the way I "pencil hold" crochet. My friend being a "knife hold" crocheter could use it but found it way too long for her comfort also. So if you want to try them, just buy one, not the set, until you know if they work for you. The over all quality of the hook was excellent.

I have several of the Addi Swings at home. C, H, J, and L, and to be honest, I wish they made them larger M, N, or even a P.

I don't even think about what type of grip I have, so I cannot advise someone with a knife grip vs a spoon grip on whether this would be the hook for them.

I do an assortment of projects ranging from motif work, to sweaters, and sculptural work and have never encountered a problem with these hooks.

IMHO, I found the weight to be non-problematic. As with another reviewer, I also have carpal tunnel in my dominant/hooking hand, and haven't had any additional spasms while using this hook.

I will say that for projects involving stitches with a lot of yarn overs, i.e. trebles, double trebles, bullions and some textural or puff type stitches, the shaft to the hook is not long enough to accommodate many yarn overs.

I like the feel of the hook and the ease of use, and have several of these hooks at home, and would no doubt buy additional hooks in the event that Skacel decides to manufacture them in larger gauges.

I bought this specifically to do one type of dry embossing called "Parchamore Stencil Set Butterfly" made for the mini shape boss that utilizes vellum. It is not just dry embossing but also incorporated a 3rd sheet in the set that allows you to partially prick the vellum. When you dry emboss vellum it makes a interesting whitish mark and the dots you prick add a nice texture. you can purchase all through Amazon.com. You also can buy (it comes with one free one inside)regular stencils for the mini that you can use card stock with and those just dry emboss as usual. The instructions that came in it were very explanatory even if you had never used the bigger shape boss or even never dry embossed before so I am not sure what the other reviewer experienced.

The two cons on this product: there are not enough different stencils(there are only 3 of the Parchamore type I have been able to find) to purchase and secondly it can be hard on the hands as there is not much place to rest you hand and it is to thick to rest on the table so you hand is left up in the air as you work.

As to the price I agree it is too pricey here on amazon at this time. It was much cheaper when I purchased mine. However please don't give a good product a low star because you felt you were gouged, take that up with Amazon. There seems to be a trend lately where the prices here have gone up out of all proportion on many items.

This was a gift for a child with a small room. This is an incredibly sturdy easel, beautifully designed with a bar on the back for rolled paper (not included). The choice was made because this easel does not have a large footprint but is very sturdy. It can be closed to lean against the wall (still attractive) and can even be used while leaning. Note that it comes assembled but for the flat pieces, in very large box.

The white board/chalk board is a reversible board; you just slide it out and flip it. My d-in-law was delighted because she hates the mess and dust chalk makes on hardwood floors out of sight it isn't an issue. The puppet facade is cardboard, which again slides, giving you two different scenes for your child to color and use. Or draw your own.

I would not hesitate to buy this again, despite the price. I also love that it holds Ikea paper rolls, so much cheaper than any available that I've seen. This easel will stand for generations. Everyone's happy

love love this and no regrets. but wish the blackboard wasn't just a black plastic type board that doesnt allow good chalkboard drawings. the chalk barely is visible when my daughter uses it. she has no idea since she is so young so she is enjoying it anyway. but i know better and its a disappointment. the surface is too wax-like to be a good surface for chalk! silly P'kolino.

I ordered this easel 3 times. The first 2 times the orange fiberboard piece that holds the legs in place came broken (Thanks, Amazon for easy quick returns). The third time, I was so excited to see all the pieces intact. It's so cute and easy to set up. I turned my back to find the paper roll and CRASH! My 4 year old twin grandsons must have tried to climb it and the orange fiberboard piece broke! I set it aside to see if their father can somehow fix it. I would recommend this easel for quiet little girls.
