Unlike all our other similar Melissa and Doug kits...this one is for kids OVER 8. The paint is a more dodgy acrylic of some kind and is a disaster for 4-6 year olds. I didn't read the age guide on-line. This is one of their only figurine painting kits that is not recommended for kids under 8....kinda silly since so many young kids are in to dinosaurs.

My sons 3 and 5 really enjoyed this project. The paint did spill on our brand new carpet but came out very easily (a big bonus!).

This was a nice idea, but it would be better if it where a little bigger. It was a gift so I don't know how they liked it, my kids wished it were bigger.

My son (age 8) and daughter (age 3.5) both love this craft. They can each paint at their own level and are happy with the end result because the figurines are so cute it almost doesn't matter how they're painted. This is perfect to keep in storage for a rainy day or when friends come over and everyone needs to settle down. I will buy more of these kits in other shapes.

Very durable, was surprised the quality was so good. It's nothing like the ceramic paint sets I had as a child. My kid loved it, the colors in the paint were bright, and was a fun project.
